29 June 2020 Term 2, Week 10 End of another interesting term What another most interesting term we have experienced! Unlike the start of the term we have ended closer to the normal school life we are all used to. Unless something dramatically changes over the holidays, we will commence Term 3 as we have ended Term 2. Thank you for all the understanding that families and friends of Parkes East have afforded the school as we navigate the restrictions that are placed upon us due to COVID-19. I trust all families will enjoy a great school holidays. May your week and break from school be full of joy. They receive one of these celebraons when they earn 8000 Sonny Money ckets. We are very excited to be holding these celebraons. Last Friday students listened to music in the playground. This week on Friday 3 July we will have No wring for the dayand it will also be a free Muſti day”. PBL CELEBRATION Our students have received 3 Whole School Celebrations over Term 1 and Term 2. They receive one of these celebrations when they earn 8000 Sonny Money tickets. We are very excited to be holding these celebrations.

NETBALL Registrations are now open for Saturday Netball!

With government restrictions now lifting Parkes and District Netball Association has opened registrations for Saturday netball with a start date of 25 July. There will be a 12 round competition for all grades with strict COVID-19 guidelines in place to ensure the safety of members and families. These guidelines will be provided closer to our start date.

As usual the competition will have a 2 week break for the Term 3 school holidays with the last round to be played on 24 October.

Registration is now OPEN via the MyNetball app or you can head to our website or our Facebook page. The committee is excited to welcome back all existing players and to see some new faces.

THE ART OF RESILIENCE An arts competition for the youth of the Parkes Shire.

CATEGORIES: Photography, song writing, poetry, drawing and painting

AGES: 13 years and under

14 to 18 years

THEME: Resilience in the face of Drought, Bushfires and COVID-19

PRIZES: Showcase event and exhibition, professionally recorded songs and poems, CD and booklet featuring photographic insert of winning entries.

The ICAS competition is for students in Year 3 to Year 6.
