DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:
The Department of IT was established during the Academic Year 2001-02 to keep pace with the
dynamics of swiftly changing global work environment. Its establishment was also necessitated
keeping in view the dire need to train students of Science and commerce streams in the specialized
sector of information technology. In pursuit of quality enhancement and achievement of
excellence, the department has been conducting various certificate courses, seminars, technical
workshops. An internship program through the specialized tool of TCSC Learn and Earn program
and with unhindered support from various software companies has proved to be a jewel in the
crown. In the backdrop of on-going COVID-19 pandemic which has affected each and every sector
across the globe, the department has felt the need to organize “International Infothon Conclave”
in joint venture with IQAC. This will facilitate in understanding the advancement in Information
technology and explore the opportunity in finding solutions that can be provided to people at
large. There is an increase in demand for technical solutions in the field of Agriculture, personal
finance, insurance, retail, supply chain management, Healthcare, entertainment and many more
online process solutions. This is our sincere effort in creating awareness and taking a small step
towards suggesting possible and feasible solutions for better future of the society.
OBJECTIVE OF THE INTERNATIONAL INFOTHON CONCLAVE:
• Interaction with National/International group of Academician, research scholars and
expert from Industry.
• Role of IT in changing way of life and way forward.
• Role of IT in dealing with human crisis management.
• IT in new world order post COVID.
• Exchange of Ideas, knowledge, experiences and wisdom.
GUIDELINE FOR REGISTRATION:
• Registration is FREE for all participants and filling up of the registration form is mandatory.
• Participant need to register separately for each session matching their interest area by
clicking the link provided in the schedule below each session.
• Separate e-certificate will be generated for each session.
• Post completion of registration formalities, a thank you note will be generated which will
have the link to the WhatsApp group.
• By clicking on the link for the WhatsApp group the participant will get added in the group,
wherein information related to the conclave will be made available.
• Zoom id and password will be provided through email (a day in advance).
• Attendance is mandatory in the registered session and e-certificate will be issued after
the successful completion of session and subsequently filling the feedback form at the end
of session.
• Limited seats available per session (right of selection reserved with the organizer).

THAKUR COLLEGE OF SCIENCE & COMMERCE:
Thakur College of Science & Commerce (Autonomous) is the largest unaided
institution in Maharashtra with glorious achievements in the field of Academics,
Sports, Research and other Extra Co-Curricular activities. TCSC is a relatively
young institute established in 1992. Thakur College has successfully completed the
3rd Cycle of NAAC and was awarded with “A” Grade.
It is a matter of great pride for Thakur College, as it has been conferred the “Best
College Award” for the Academic Year 2018-19 by University of Mumbai. As
per Education World magazine April 2020 Issue in India’s top-ranked private
autonomous college league table TCSC Secured 55thRank all over India,15thRank
in Maharashtra and 13thRank in Mumbai, among the Top Autonomous Colleges
(Private Autonomous Category) in a survey done by Education World Magazine,
New Delhi. TCSC has featured as one of the top 10 Educational Institution across
India in the Annual Coffee Book "Edupreneurs" by the Times Group, for
implementing Innovative Ideas in the field of Education. Thakur College of Science
and Commerce has more than14,000 students, 225 teaching staff and 150 non-
teaching staff with more than 22 departments having undergraduate and post
graduate section. The College has consistently attained outstanding results in
academics at both Degree & Junior levels. The college is committed to provide
quality education which is reflected in its state of art infrastructure, well stocked
library, closely monitored administration & excellent academic ambience including
a well-qualified faculty. It also has a full-fledged Research and development Centre
that gives the students and teachers an exclusive area to engage in research
activities of their choices. The faculty members are also encouraged to take up
industrial consultancy and research and development projects in their respective
areas. College also encourages Incubation and start-up projects and it is also having
Center of Excellence-Learn and Earn program.
TCSC IQAC:
The College IQAC was constituted in 2005 as per the guidelines issued by NAAC,
immediately after first cycle of Accreditation in the year 2004. Since then IQAC is
always instrumental to suggest quality initiatives and pursue the same to set bench
marks in quest of excellence. IQAC takes various initiative to conducts various skill
and talent enhancement program, program of women's empowerment and
community-based services. Today, when the world is facing difficult situation of
COVID - 19, IQAC of TCSC is taking initiative to provide a global platform through
this International Conclave for various advanced technological sectors and
stakeholders of academia to come together as a part of our Skill and Talent
Enhancement Program (STEP).
