It is our hope that individuals will be blessed by this event. The proceeds from this event will be put into our general fund and will allow us to connue to keep our rates down so that financial burdens will not keep any campers away. Your parcipaon is a blessing to us, Thank You. Locaon and Date: The event will take place on Labor Day, September 5, 2016. It will be hosted by Lakeview Ministries which is located just southwest of Columbus, IN approximately 12 minutes from Exit 64 of Interstate 65. It will be centered at the Camp Lakeview waterfront on Lutheran Lake. You will enter the parking area through the Camp Lakeview entrance at 13500 W. Lake Rd., Seymour, IN 47274. Race and Course Informaon: Triathlon: The triathlon will kick off at 8:00 am on the morning of race day. It will be limited to those parcipants that are at least 18 years of age by August 1, 2016. It will consist of a 800 meter open water swim out and back on Lutheran Lake. Bright swim caps will be required and provided in your race packet you will receive on race day. This will be followed by two laps on a 7.2 mile mountain bike course through the trails of Lakeview Ministries. This course is mostly dirt trails with a few places that are only a single lane wide. It contains many steep hills and very few places that are completely flat. Bike helmets must be worn and strapped at all mes and you must provide your own water bole for the bike segment. The triathlon will finish up with a 5 Kilometer run around the private trails and roads circling Lutheran Lake. This course has very few flat areas but contains mostly rolling hills with a few steep grades spread throughout the route. The majority of the route is on paved surfaces, but there is a secon of the route that is directed through a gravel trail. There will be two water stops provided on the 5K course. Individual Event: ($60 before August 1st, $70 aſter) The individual event will consist of award categories for both male and female in the following age ranges: 18-19 yrs. 20-29 yrs. 30-39 yrs. 40-49 yrs. 50+ yrs. Team Event: ($150 before August 1st, $160 aſter) The team triathlon will consist of teams of 2 or 3 people. Only overall awards will be presented. General Information:

Thank you for your interest in our 2nd Annual Lakeview Ministries Sprint Triathlon. It is our hope that individuals will be blessed by

this event. The proceeds from this event will be put into our general fund and will allow us to continue to keep our rates down so

Location and Date:

The event will take place on Labor Day, September 5, 2016. It will be hosted by Lakeview Ministries which is located just southwest

5K Run/Walk: ($25 before August 1st, $30 after)

The 5K Run/Walk will start at 10:30 and will use the same course as the 5K leg of the triathlon. It will be limited to those

that are at least 11 years old by August 1, 2016. This course has very few flat stretches but contains mostly rolling hills

with a few steep grades spread throughout the route. The majority of the route is on paved surfaces, but there is a

section of the route that is directed through a gravel trail. There will be two water stops provided on the course. The

5K will consist of award categories for both male and female in the following age ranges:

Children’s Fun Run: ($10 before and after August 1st)

The Fun Run will start at 11:30 am on race day and will be limited to those who are 10 and under. There will be two

categories to sign up for, a short run and a long run. The short run will be designed for those 6 years of age and under

and will consist of a short 100 meter long course. The long run will be designed for those 6 to 10 years of age and will

consist of a longer course approximately 400 meters. This event will take place next to the Lake Chapel on top of the

hill. All participants will receive a medal for running in the fun runs.

General Registration Policies:

Early registrations will be accepted up until August 1st and be eligible for the discounted rate. Any registration coming in after

August 1st will be charged full price. No Registrations will be accepted after August 31st. Space is limited, please get your

registrations in as early as possible to insure your spot in the race. Registration entries can not be delayed to a subsequent year.

Once registered, no refunds are permitted for any of the events.

Special Note — Team Registration Requirements:

A team captain must be designated on the registration form. This captain will be responsible for supplying all

paperwork and payments to Lakeview Ministries. This captain will be responsible for all communications between

Lakeview and their team members.

Packet Pickup:

Race Packets may be picked up at the Camp Lakeview Dining Hall on Sunday, September 4th from 6-8 PM and Monday, September

5th from 6:30-7:30 AM. Arrive early to make sure you have enough time to prepare yourself for the race. All adults most show a

PHOTO ID. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Pre-Race Clinic and Practice Sessions:

We will host pre-race practice sessions leading up to the race date. Watch the Facebook event page where we will advertise these

events. We will meet at the Camp Lakeview Dining Hall to go over the race routes and answer any questions. The mountain biking

and running routes will be available to practice on. The swimming route will not be open to practice on, only to view.

We will also host a Pre-Race Clinic the night before the race at the same time race packets are available from 6-8 PM at the Camp

Lakeview Dining Hall. We will have a walk-through of the race map and answer any questions that are brought up.

Limited Access to the Transition Area:

The transition area will be guarded. Only Triathlon participates will be allowed in the transition area, and will be the only one

allowed to pickup a bike and racing equipment. Your race ID number must match up with your bike ID number in order to leave

the transition area.

Insurance Coverage:

Your personal insurance will be the primary carrier. Lakeview Ministries, as part of your entry fee, will carry a supplemental single

day insurance plan for all participants.

Awards Ceremony:

We will hold an awards ceremony immediately after the Children’s Fun Run, approximately 11:45 AM. We will award prizes to the

winners and runners up for males and females in each age category for both the triathlon and the 5K. We will also award prizes to

the winners and runners up for the team triathlon. All participants in the fun run will receive a prize no matter where they finish.

After Race Food, Refreshments, and Entertainment:

BBQ pork, hot dogs, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, fruit, vegetables, and other food for the post race party will be available

starting at 11:00 AM. Please specify, on your registration form, if you will be joining us for this meal so we can get an estimated

meal count. We will collect a free will offering during this meal to help defray the cost of the food. During this time we will also

have activities to participate in for entertainment, such as bounce houses, carnival games, etc. Bring the whole family and enjoy

some great time at camp.

Event Cancellation Policy:

If natural disaster, foul weather or community disaster occurs, our action steps are as follows: 1. Lakeview Ministries in concert

with local officials will make decisions based on safety first. 2. Courses and/or race segments will be altered as agreed to between

Lakeview Ministries and local officials. 3. Financial: It is not financially feasible for Lakeview Ministries to accept the risk of a

disaster for everyone. Each registered participant needs to accept the risk of his or her entry fee. There will be NO REFUNDS or

free entries to future races. The money paid for entry was spent developing the event. 4. Lakeview Ministries does not save any

money if the event is canceled or reasons beyond our control. All supplies and services needed for the event is purchased and/or

arranged in advance. All event supplies and services associated with the event must be paid for, regardless if the event is canceled

or not. Entries are NOT delayable or exchangeable. Lakeview Ministries is a 501c-3 organization and all proceeds from this event

are considered a donation to Lakeview Ministries and are therefore tax deductible.

Race Safety Notice:

We reserve the right to remove anyone from the race if we feel that your safety, or the safety of others, is at risk if you continue.

We will not allow you to make this an unsafe race for you and/or other participants. We will have safety personal stationed in

multiple locations throughout the entire course. They will be wearing bright shirts and will be able to answer questions or assist in

fulfilling needs you may have.

Race Evaluations are Appreciated:

Participants are encouraged to complete the event evaluation form (located in the dining area of the Lutheran Lake Chapel) in

order to help us improve this event for next year.

Lakeview Ministries Information:

Lakeview Ministries was established in 1964 to provide Christian experience of growth, inspiration, and recreation, for people of all

ages through a year-round outdoor ministry. Working within the confessions of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, we enhance

the ministry of individual churches by providing the setting and resources for strengthening the faith of God’s people

Lakeview is not owned by an individual church, or even a collection of churches. Lakeview Ministries is an association of

individuals. Anyone that donates $100 or more to Lakeview becomes a Lakeview Partner, and is a voting member and part owner

in the association.

have an opportunity to come to camp no matter what their financial situation may be.
