Claire stood beside Luke frowning. Remembering. Remembering what hadhappened to them when they were taken. But they didnt know the fullstory. How had they escaped?

But... them, the Others... We havent heard from them in like aweek. Why would they just suddenly come back and take Nathan? Imean... How did they even know Nathan was with us now? Asked Jack, hehimself frowning.

I dont know, Jack Rose replied, but who else would have takenhim?

Maybe... He just went for a walk. Forgot to tell anyone. Oh, I dontknow! Maybe we should go and ask Ana or Bernard whether he would justrandomly walk of like this.

Fine then, Jack. Rose sighed. Lets go.Jack looked over at Claire and Luke who where still stood side by sidefrowning forward.

You guys coming? Jack asked.Jack... They wanted my baby! Claire suddenly screamed, looking

scared.What?! Jack asked, moving towards her.They were going to take my baby! Claire screamed again, moving

backwards looking petrified. She looked up the beach and saw Charlie satat his tent playing with Aaron. Claires eyes widened and she ran up thebeach towards them.

What...? Jack asked, lamely.

Kate walked down the corridor dressed in a smart suit. She looked oddthough. She had a baseball cap pulled low over her face which waslooking down at the floor. Kate stopped and turned to look at a notice

board on the wall beside her as a policeman walked past her. She waitedfor a moment before starting to walk down the corridor again.

Kate stopped outside of a door and looked down the corridor to make surethe policeman had gone. She knocked on the door several times andwaited. The door slowly creaked open and Kate pushed her way into theroom. She pulled her baseball cap of her head and ruffled her hair. Kateturned to look at the person who had opened the door and she smiled.

Hey, Russ. Kate said, moving towards him.The man smiled at Kate and hugged her tight. His glasses sparkled eventhough the room was dimly lit. Dressed in a white shirt and dark jeanswith blonde hair.

How was your journey? Did anyone see you? Russ asked, as theirhug broke.

There was a policeman walking around the corridors out there. ButI dont think he saw me. Kate replied as she moved into the hotel room.She sat down onto the bed.

Oh, thats good.Russ sat down on the bed beside her.

Do you want to go then? He asked.In a little while. Kate stretched and took of her jacket. She smiled

at Russ.

Kate walked up the beach. Claire was now sat in her tent looking down atAaron who was asleep in his crib. Claire held the knitted socks in herhands which she had made whilst captive with the Others. Kate walkedover to Claires tent and smiled down at Aaron.

Hey. Kate said, simply.Hey, Kate. Claire looked up at Kate and smiled at her. You... Need

something?Kate sat down beside Claire and looked at the knitted socks.

No. I was just wondering how you were. I heard you screamingbefore.

Oh. That was... Nothing.You sure? Kate put her hand on Claires arm and smiled.Well... I remembered something. From when I was taken. With Luke

and Michael.Oh? Kate said, now looking serious.They wanted to take me baby, Kate. They wanted Aaron.

Claire looked down at Aaron again and began to cry.

But they didnt get him, Claire. Hes here. With you. Hes fine. Youboth are. Kate smiled at Claire. And you always will be. We wont letthem get to you again. So dont worry.Claire smiled at Kate, her eyes wet.

Thanks, Kate.Its ok, Claire.

Kate held her arms out and Claire hugged her.Do you think they killed him? The Others. Michael. Claire asked as

their hug broke.I dont know. What makes you ask that?

Well they killed Nadia. They dont seem like the people who wouldjust let people go.

They let you go, didnt they? Kate asked, frowning at Claire.I dont... I dont think so. No, we didnt get released. But I cant

remember how we got away. Some parts are still foggy.Kate looked up and saw Jin walking past the tent with his arms full of fish.

Im going to go and help prepare dinner. Ill see you late, Claire.

Kate stood up and smiled down at Claire and Aaron one last time. Shewalked away from the tent. Jack rushed up to her when where away fromClaires tent,

Well? Jack asked, glancing over his shoulder at Claire.They wanted Aaron. But I reassured her that they wouldnt get

him.Kate shoots Jack a dirty look and walks away from him towards the tablein the middle of the beach.

BLEEP! BLEEP! BLEEP! Locke woke with a start. He blinked and sat up fromthe bed. Hurley popped his head into the room.

You want me to get that, dude? Hurley asked.No, Ill get it.

Locke stood up from the bed and stretched. Hurley left the bedroom andwalked back to the kitchen. Locke followed him in and looked over to seewhat Hurley was doing. The kettle dinged.

Could you make me a cup? Locke asked, smiling.Sure thing, dude.

Locke walked into the computer room and shuffled over to the computer,still slightly asleep. The counter flicked down to a minute and the beepingintensified. DEE DEE DEE! DEE DEE DEE! DEE DEE DEE!

Locke sat on the computer chair and quickly entered the numbers. Hechecked them over on the computer before he pressed execute and thebeeping stopped. The counter flickered back up to 108. Locke smiled andstood up. He walked back into the kitchen.

Whats wrong with you?! Jack asked, rushing after Kate.Nothing, Jack. Forget it.

Kate rushed off into the sparse trees and Jack followed her.There obviously is, Kate. What have I done? He rushed forward

and grabbed her arm, making her stop.Kate turned round and looked at Jack, fighting back tears.

Its nothing, Jack.Please, Kate, tell me what Ive done wrong. I dont want to upset

you. Jack frowned at Kate, clearly confused.Ana. Youve barely spoke to me since she came to our group! Its

like youve forgotten me and went onto her.Forgotten you? Jack asked, frowning even harder. But... Theres

nothing going on between us, Kate.I know. But... I thought you felt something for me.I do, Kate. I really do.

Jack smiled at Kate who suddenly leaned in and kissed Jack. Jack was

taken aback but he didnt pull away. Instead, he reciprocated. They brokeapart, Jack looking confused and Kate looking slightly scared.

Uhh... Sorry. Kate mumbled and rushed off into the jungle. Jackstood watching her, still confused.

The door creaked open and Russ walked out. He looked up and down thecorridor before poking his head back into the room.

All clear.His head remerged from door to be followed by Kate who had the cappulled low over her face. She closed the door behind her and Russ lockedit.The journey in the car was uneventful. It took them about twenty minutesto arrive. The car slowed down and stopped. Russ walked out of the carfirst and checked to make sure they were alone. He walked round the carand opened Kates door. She walked out and pulled her cap lower downher face.They walked into the graveyard together. There was no one else thereexcept them. Kate looked around them, over her shoulder, to make sure.They walked down the path and crossed the field with gravestones dottedhere, there and everywhere. A moment later they stopped in front of agrave. Kate knelt down to the grave and began to cry.

Oh, God! Kate said, beginning to cry.Russ knelt down beside her and put his arm around her.

Its ok, Kate. Its not your fault.Kate looked at the gravestone again. Tom Brennan it read. Kate beganto cry even harder.

Luke walked into the hatch, closing the door behind him. He walked

straight into the living area and looked around. No one was there. He satdown on the couch beside the armoury and put his head into his hands.

You alright? Asked a voice from somewhere in the room.Luke looked up and saw Locke poking his head into the room. Lockewalked over to Luke and stood over him.

Uhh... Hey, John.You alright, kiddo?Yeah, umm... Im fine. Luke sat up and crossed his arms.

Locke sat down beside Luke and smiled over at him.You sure? If somethings happened... You can tell me.You wouldnt believe me.

Try me. Locke smiled calmly over at Luke who looked back,frowning.

Jack muttered to himself as she rushed through the jungle.God dammit, Kate!

He broke into a run in the direction that Kate had gone in earlier.

Kate rushed through the jungle looking madly around her. She stumbledon a branch on the ground and fell over.

Oh, God! Kate muttered as she got back to her feet.

Kate rushed off into the jungle as a click from the monster is heard. Katebegan to run faster. Just wanting to get away from everything.

The cap was pulled low over her face as Kate stood in the queue. Therewere two people in front of her. One of them left the queue with his ticketand Kate shuffled forward. She sighed and clicked her tongue. The womanin front left the queue and Kate moved to the front.

One way to... Kate thinks for a moment.Come on, hurry up, will ya! A voice from behind spoke.

Kate flanked over her shoulder and saw a man standing there. EdwardMars. She turned back to the counter (not recognising him) and began tospeak again. Edward suddenly moved forward and grabbed Kates arms,pinning them to her side. She lashed out, hitting back at Edward. Twomore federal agents appeared through the door and pointed their guns atKate.

Its over, Kate. Muttered Edward into Kates ear.Kate relaxed and allowed Edward to handcuff her.

Locke frowned, peering over at Luke. He put the kettle on the base andturned it on.

You... Were blind before you crashed here? He asked, astounded.Well... Yeah. I was. Luke replied, lamely.

Luke sat down on a stool at the bench and looked directly into Lockeseyes.

Uhh... How? Locke asked.It doesnt matter. The thing is... They knew. Them. The Others.

They knew about my past. How?I dont know. Theres a lot that we dont know about them.

Like why they took Nathan? Luke asked, raising his eyebrows.They took... Nathan? Locke asked, ignoring the now steaming

kettle.Locke sat down onto a stool beside Luke.

Well isnt anyone out there looking for him? Locke asked, raisinghis eyebrows.

No, I dont think so. Luke replied. Hey... Shouldnt you get thekettle? Luke looked over at the steaming kettle. Locke stood up andwalked over to it, pulling it from the stand.

But why? We have to go and look for him! Locke put two cupsdown onto the counter.

Thats what I thought. But Jack was too concerned looking afterKate. She freaked off. Ran into the jungle. Luke sighed as Locke handedhim a cup.

Well we dont need Jack to go looking for him, do we?How would we even know where too look though?I know a thing or two about tracking. Lockes eyes twinkled. You

told me something about your past, Locke said, glancing at Lukes eyes.So I want to tell you something about mine.

The police car sped across the muddy road as rain pounded onto the

windows. Kate looked out of the window as her handcuffs rattled.

So tell me, Kate. Why did you do it? Edward asked from thedriving seat.

I didnt... I didnt mean for it to happen. Kate choked back as shecontinued to look out of the window.

Sure you did. Edward retorted as the car drove around the bend.

Kate ignored him. She continued to look out of the window.A large black galloped in front of the car and ran across the road. Edwardswerved and the car smashed into a lamppost. Edward lunged forwardand smashes his head on the windscreen. He slumped in his seat.Kates hands immediately went into Edwards pocket and she pulled out abunch of keys. The handcuffs dropped from her arms as Kate took thekeys out of them. She pulled Edwards door open and pushed him out ofthe car. Kate closed the door and shuffled over to the drivers seat. Shestarted the car up and looked out of the windscreen. The black horsestood staring at her. Kate drove off as the horse watched her go.

Kate came to a stop in a clearing. She stared forward. In the middle of thetrees she could see a dark black horse, pawing at the ground. Kate movedforward with wide eyes.

What are you doing out here?! Jack asked, running into theclearing.Jack stared ahead, noticing the horse. Kate ignored him and movedforward towards the horse. She held her hand out and the horse lookedup. It moved forward towards her.

Do you... Know that horse? Jack asked, laughing slightly.Kate just nodded. She patted the horse several times.

Jack moved over to Kate and stood behind her. The horse looked up atJack before turning and running away into the jungle. Kate turned to Jack.

Come on, lets go back.

Jack held the door open for Kate. She walked into the hatch and Jackfollowed. Together, they walked into the living area and saw Locke, Lukeand Charlie gathered there.

Whats going on, guys? Jack asked.Were going after Nathan. Charlie said, smiling at Kate.Well come. Kate said, looking at the guns that Locke was passing

to Luke and Charlie.

No, Kate. You wont. But Ill come with you. Its time to end this.Jack stares ahead, determined.

VO: The group descend into the jungle.
