Libby walked into the hatch to find no one there. She looked around intoevery room but still, she couldn’t find anyone. Libby sighed and sat downon the sofa. And then, suddenly...BANG!!Libby looked up. She couldn’t see anything.

A short while later, Boone entered the hatch. Everything was silent. Hewalked into the computer room and saw Locke sat down at the computer.

“Hello, John.” Boone said in a hollow voice. Locke stared at thecomputer for a moment before looking up.

“4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42,” chorused Locke, his voice distorted. A pause,and then Locke began again, “4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42.” Locke’s voice wasonce again distorted. Boone frowned.

“Umm... what?” Boone asked as he moved forward. Locke didn’tacknowledge that Boone was there.

And then suddenly Boone found himself in the main living area. Thecounter was beeping behind him. He turned to look into the room. Lockehad gone. Boone turned back around and saw it! Libby was lying on theground, blood pouring from her chest. A man was stood over her with hisback to Boone. Boone screamed out! The man didn’t turn. Boone movedforward. He circled Libby’s body. But before he saw the man’s face...

Boone woke with a start. He was sweating, panting; a look of pure terroron his face. He stood up and walked out of his tent. Boone looked downthe beach and saw Libby stood outside of her tent with Hurley. Libbylooked down the beach and spotted Boone. She smiled.

LOST

Locke was sat down in a circle of people. Someone was talking but it wasobvious from the look on Locke’s face that he wasn’t listening. He was sat opposite a woman who was watching him, smiling. Locke glanced at her and smiled back.

“... And I know that it was just $30 but it was my $30.” Said thewoman who was in the middle of talking. Locke scoffed and the group

leader turned to him.“Do you have a problem, John?”



“Umm... No, I just think its a little stupid, that’s all.” Locke replied.“Well Sarah obviously doesn’t think so.” The leader smiled over at

the woman who looked hurt by what Locke had said. Locke was gettingworked up.

“She’s angry over $30? My father stole my kidney!” He shouted tothe group.

Locke opened his car door as the woman who had smiled at him in thegroup walked up to him.

“Umm... Is this yours?” She asked, holding up a wallet. “I think youdropped it in the meeting.” Locke turned and smiled.

“Yes, yes it is. Thank you.” He took the wallet and pocketed it. “I’m John, by the way.”

“Yeah, I heard during your little rant.” The woman smiled. “I’mHelen. I take it you won’t be coming back here then?”

“Umm... No, I don’t think so.” Locke smiled.“Oh. I was hoping we could go out for coffee.” Helen replied.

Locke was in the hatch by himself. He was in the middle of preparing somefood. Locke picked up the tray and took it over to the open armoury door.He walked into the armoury where Henry was sat on the ground tied up.

“I’m sorry we had to tie you,” Locke said as he placed the traydown. “Jack doesn’t think you’re trustworthy anymore. Not since youwouldn’t draw him the map.” Henry looked up at him and nodded.

“It’s ok. And I’m sorry that I didn’t draw the map. I just thought itwould be pointless, what with a group of your people already out there. Do

you believe me?” Henry asked Locke. “Do you believe that I’m not one of these people you think I am?”Locke looked down at Henry. He didn’t reply. Henry changed the subject.

“I see that Jack is still calling the shots.” He said, his eyes narrow.“Jack doesn’t think you’re trustworthy anymore,” he said, mimickingLocke. Locke just glared at him as he bent down and undid the ropearound Henrys hands.

“Enjoy your food.” And then Locke was gone from the room and thedoor glanced close.

Kate, Hurley and Luke were sat down on the beach with a box in themiddle of them. On the box they had some playing cards. They were inthe middle of playing poker. Hurley placed his cards down onto the box.Kate groaned.

“Not again, Hurley!”Hurley laughed.

“I must be lucky today.” He laughed.

Jack walked out of his tent as Boone walked up to him. Jack smiled atBoone.

“Morning, Boone.”

“Hey Jack. You busy?”“I was just about to head of to the hatch. Why?”



“I umm... Had another one of them dreams. Showing Libby dead...”Boone frowned at Jack.

“Oh. I could give you something if you wanted? So that you had adreamless sleep.” Jack said as he went back into his tent. A moment later,he remerged with a bag. He began to look through the drugs inside of it.

Locke was sat down at a table in a posh restaurant opposite Helen. They had empty plates in front of them. They each held a glass of wine.

“Can you believe its been a month already!” Locke said, smiling at Helen.

“I know. It’s flown over. I’m so happy with you, John.” Helen replied,smiling. “I actually... I have something for you. A little present.” She said as she took a small box out of her jacket.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t get you anything... I didn’t know we weregoing this.” Locke said, looking down at the box.

“It’s ok.” Helen smiled. She handed the box to Locke. Locke smiled and then opened the box. Inside was a small key.

“What’s this?” He asked.“A key. For my house. I’m not asking you to move in because I do

think it’s a little early. This is just so you can come and go at my housewithout bothering me.” Helen laughed. Locke took out his keys from his

pocket and put his new one on the hoop. He smiled at Helen.

Locke was stood at the sink in the kitchen washing Henry’s plate fromearlier. Suddenly the lights went out and a dull beeping began to ringthroughout the station. Locke looked up as Henry called from the armoury.

“What... What’s going on, John?”“I don’t... I don’t know...” Locke replied.“Why have the lights gone out?” Henry called.“Shush!!” Locke called back as an automated voice began to talk

over the beeping.“10... 9... 8... 6...” The voice said. Locke span around in a circle

looking around the hatch not knowing what was happening. “... 0.” Thevoice resumed. And then there was a long shrill beep as blast doors ateach entrance of the room dropped down from the ceiling. Again, Lockespan around not knowing what was going on and not knowing what to do.He grabbed a crow-bar from the ground beside a tool box and ran towardsthe closest door. He managed to jab the bar in under it before the blastdoor hit the ground. Locke stood staring at it for a moment.

“What’s going on?” Henry asked again as the lights flickered andcame back on.

“Umm... These... These doors came from the ceiling,” Lockestammered still looking at the crow-bar under the door. “We’re trapped...”

Jack was walking over towards the jungle as Kate ran up to him.“Hey...”

Jack turned to look at Kate and smiled.

“Hey, Kate.” He replied.“Wanna come and play a bit of poker?” Kate smiled.



“I... Dunno. I have to go and get back to the hatch.” Jack said,looking back at the jungle.

“Well you don’t have to.” Kate smiled. “Come on, live a little.” Sheraises her eyebrows.

“Alright then. But just one game.” Jack returned the smile andfollowed Kate back over to Hurley and Luke.

Locke was stood outside of the armoury door.“I... Need your help, Henry. Please.” He said quietly to the door.

There was no reply. “Please, Henry.”“If you want my help... I’m going to need something from you,

John.” Henry replied.“And what’s that?” Locke asked.“I need you to make a promise to me. Promise me that no matter

what your friends find out there... You’ll protect me. Make sure that theydon’t hurt me.” Henry replied. Locke remained outside of the door for amoment before he opened it. He looked down at Henry.

“If you are who you say you are... You won’t get hurt.” Locke saidsolemnly.

“You’re people... Want someone to blame for everything that hashappened to them. If they don’t find what they are looking for... They’lltake their blame out on me. So I need you to promise me, John.” Henrysaid, looking back up at Locke. Locke thought for a moment again.

“Alright.” John replied. And walked into the armoury to untie Henry.

Locke was sat inside of his car with a polystyrene cup of coffee in his

hand. He heard movement outside and looked up. Just a couple of peoplewalking past. Locke took sip of his coffee and looked up at a large housein front of him. His father’s house. He went back to his coffee as the car door opened and a man climbed into the seat beside Locke. Locke looked over and saw it was his father, Anthony Cooper.

“Uhh...” Locke stammered to Anthony.“What are you doing here, John?” “I umm... I wanted to ask. Why?” “Why what?” Anthony asked a small smile on his face.“Why did you do it? If you needed a kidney... You didn’t need to con

me!” Locke’s voice was raising.“I needed a kidney... And you needed a father figure.” Anthony said

simply. “Its nothing more complicated than that.” “But...” Locke started but Anthony cut him off.“Listen, John. I let you sit out here in your car for a month because I

thought it was funny. But then it wasn’t. I thought it might’ve stopped when I moved house but there you were, sat outside of my house again.This has to stop, John, or I’ll make you stop.” Anthony opened the door and left, leaving Locke alone once more.

“Here, I managed to get a crow bar in under this one before it came

down.” Locke said as he led Henry from the hatch over to the nearby door.“So what do you want me to do?” Henry asked.



“Help me to lift the crow bar. Ease the door up a bit.”“Why don’t you just wait ‘till they come up again?” Henry asked as

he bent down to the crow bar.“I can’t wait. There is something that must be done in about twenty

minutes.” Locke said as he bent down to the crow bar also.“What’s that?” Henry asked.“Come on, let’s get this door open.” Locke replied, dodging the

question. “On three.”Both of them gripped onto the crow bar.

“3... 2... 1... Now!” Called Locke. Together, they both raised the crowbar a fraction of the way lifting the door a tiny bit. “Come on!” GruntedLocke, pulling harder on the crow bar. The door gradually lifted evenhigher.

“Go on, get that tool kit!” Henry panted, nodding in the direction of a tool kit behind Locke.

“You be able to hold this?” Locke asked him.“Go!”

Locke released the crow bar and ran to get the tool kit. He ran back and jabbed the metal box under the door as Henry released the crow bar. Thedoor smashed down onto the tool kit but remained there, lifted up quite abit. Locke got onto his hands and knees and crawled towards the door.

“What... What are you doing?” Henry asked.“I’m going to slide under the door.” Locke replied as he got onto his

back. He began to shimmy his self under the door. And then suddenly... The door creaked and the metal box gave way. The door smashed downonto Locke’s leg!! Locke screamed out.

“AHHHHHHHHH!! Ahh. Get something... To put under... Stop thedoor...”Henry began to pile weights under the door until the gap under the doorwas filled. The door creaked but stayed there. Henry knelt to look atLocke’s leg. It had been impaled.

“Oh, God.” Henry whispered.And then the counter began to beep.

Locke was once again parked outside of Anthony’s house – this time at night. And the car door opened once more and Helen got in. Before Lockecould say anything to her, Helen took the key out of the ignition and walked out of the car. Locke followed her.

“Uhh... Helen...” “He’s your father isn’t he?” Helen asked. “I know he conned you out

of a kidney but you have to get over this. I thought we were getting over it. I thought me and you were moving on.” Helen sighed. She threwLocke’s car key over the gate.

“What the hell was that for?” Locke shouted.“You have to choose, John... Me or him.”

Locke stands thinking for a moment before he walks up to Helen.“You.” And then he kissed her.



“You have to be quick!” Locke called from the floor. He lookedbehind him as Henry began to pile crates on top of each other in thepantry. “I don’t know the route once you are in the vents... But you onlyhave like two minutes left! Do you remember the numbers?”

“4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42.” Henry called back as he climbed onto thecrate. He pushed the vent open and climbed in. And Locke was left alone.A quiet humming sound could be heard from somewhere in the hatch.Locke looked around for its source as the beeping started to intensify. Onlyone minutes left! And then the lights fizzed and went out. And Locke wasleft in darkness. He looked around but he couldn’t see anything. Then, abright blue light shone up on the blast door in front of him illumination amap. Locke stared up at it, the beeping from the computer now inaudible.

The map was hexagonal in shape showing various Dharma logos. Some of them were recognisable to Locke but there was a few that he didn’trecognise. A flame logo? And why were some of the ‘stations’ on the mapcrossed out? And why was there a giant question mark in the centre of themap? Before Locke could get a proper look at the map, the lights cameback on and the map faded from the blast door. Locke groaned loudly asthe blast doors began to raise from the ground, off Locke’s leg.

“AHHHHHHHH!!” Locke shouted. “Henry! Henry!” there was no reply.

Locke crawled into the computer room leaving a trail of blood in his wake.He quickly glanced up at the counter and saw that it now read “106:00”.He smiled to himself as he heard movement behind him. He turned andsaw Henry stood there.

“Oh, Henry. You came back!” Locke called.

“Well I wasn’t going to leave you like this, now was I John? Come on,let’s get you up.” Henry helped Locke to get to his feet.

Jack was walking through the jungle at night time when he heardmovement behind him.

“Hey.” Kate said, running to catch up with him.“Hey, Kate. What are you doing out here?” Jack asked her with a

smile.“I thought I’d come with you to the hatch. The beach gets a little

tiresome.” Kate returned the smile.“Uhh... You know what? I think I’ll give the hatch a miss tonight. I’ll

walk you back to the beach?”“Oh, yeah... Sure...” Kate’s voice trailed off as she looked over Jacks

shoulder. Jack turned and looked. A dull light was flashing from inside of aclearing behind Jack. “What the hell is that?”

Jack moved over to the light and Kate followed. There was a large packagecovered in tarpaulin with a parachute attached to it. Kate went to open it.

“No, don’t!” Jack called. But Kate opened it anyway. She pulled out asmall box from inside – a box of macaroni and cheese. Kate turned toshow Jack but once again, she stared over his shoulder. Jack turned.Ana Lucia, Sayid and Charlie were stood to the side of the clearing.

“Sayid!” Jack exclaimed. “... Did you find it?”“Oh, we found it all right.” Sayid replied.



Inside of the hatch, Henry propped Locke’s leg up onto the coffee table.“I’ll get you some water.” He said and moved off to the kitchen.

Locke heard a door open somewhere within the hatch. Jack appeared inthe room followed by Kate.

“Get away from him!” Jack bellowed to Henry. Locke put his armsout to protest.

“It’s ok, Jack, I let him out... There were these blast doors and wewere trapped and I got hurt and he helped me... He’s ok!” Locke shouted.

“Oh, really?” Asked Sayid who had now appeared behind Jack.Charlie and Ana Lucia were stood beside him. Henry looked at Ana.

“Did you show them my balloon then?”“Yeah, I showed them.” Ana replied.

Sayid pulled out a gun and pointed it at Henry.“She did show me your balloon, Henry Gale. Exactly how you

described it. And we found the grave you described, too. The grave of your wife. The grave you said you dug with your own bare hands.” Sayidsaid, calmly.

“So... What’s the problem then?” Henry asked. Sayid ignored him.“It was all there. Your whole story. Your alibi. It was true.” Sayid took

a step forward towards Henry, now lowering the gun. Henry backed awayfrom Sayid against the wall. And still, Sayid was moving closer – they werealmost nose-to-nose. “But I still didn’t believe it to be true. So I dug upthat grave. And found that there was not a woman in side... There was aman.”Henry just stares at him, not knowing what to do, not knowing what to say.

Sayid pulls something from his pocket. A mouldy leather wallet. Sayidopens it and extracts a drivers license.“A man named Henry Gale.” Sayid finished. He holds the card up to

Henrys face and Henry sees a photo of a large black man. Henry looksfrom the card to Sayid. And then smiles.

LOSTNext time:

VO: Rose has startling secrets to reveal.

ROSE: “I have something to tell you.”ROSE: “You killed him, didn’t you?”

VO: Jack and Kate venture into the unknown.

JACK: “I’m going to get our people back.”

VO: And Locke’s faith is rocked.

HENRY: “I didn’t press the button.”

LOCKE “You’re lying.”HENRY: “No. I’m done lying.”
