Loeffel - a resident of Red Hook, NY - accumulated an impressive 37 saves in 108 minutes played for Herkimer! A vast majority of those saves came against Dean College, saving 21 total shots in the contest, most of them in the second half which helped the Generals to their first win of the season 10-9. Just four days later, the sophomore helped his team to their first home victory, defeating Broome Community College 14-6. In that game Loeffel accumulated 16 saves. “Austin has been seeing a lot of shots on the field thus far, but has stepped up to the occasion,” said Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Jamie Ireland. “I’m proud of the way he prepares for each game, and this acknowledgement is a direct results of it. He is the back bone of our defense, and deserves the nomination!”
