Tarver highlights mens basketball third consecutive Green & GoldSOURCE:Matt Lee, Head Basketball Coach, 866-0300, Ext. 8344HERKIMER, NY Sophomore Jallah Tarver was named Green & Gold Male Athlete of the Month in February. Tarver, a Business: Sports & Recreation Management major at Herkimer College, helped the Generals win their third consecutive Region III Championship this past weekend, averaging 10.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game for the month.

A native of Schenectady, NY, Tarver began the month scoring a season-high 23 points against DII Genesee which led to a win. The guard then came one point short of what wouldve been his first double double against Monroe, grabbing a season-high 13 rebounds against the Tribunes. His third season-high came against Columbia-Greene where Tarver stole seven, helping the Generals to their 11th consecutive conference win at that time.

The guards biggest contribution however came in the Region III Semifinal against Finger Lakes Community College where he scored 10 of the teams final 15 points in the final seven minutes of regulation, ending with a team-high 15 points on 6-of-7 from the charity stripe which helped advance the Generals to the Region III Championship.

Jallah has got himself in better game shape in the month of February, helping us tremendously down the stretch, said Head Mens Basketball Coach Matt Lee. His understanding of the game has helped us become a better team heading into the national tournament next week.-30-
