They have been painting some of their fa- vourite characters and counting the number of legs they need to add. The children have also been building walls for Humpty Dumpty, looking for Incy Wincy spider in the garden and using play dough to count out Five Currant Buns. They are look- ing forward to learning even more Nursery Rhymes next week. Year 6 Hegarty Maths Launch Colin Hegarty visited our school on Monday 2nd October to launch his homework website to our Year 6 pupils. We learnt that soil contains rotten leaves, tiny bits of stone and little bit of sticks. Then we collected things from the garden to make our own soil! We also looked at soil from different areas of the country. The sticky, clay soil from London is very different to the sandy soil from Kent. We can't wait to have our next garden session with Mr Smith. Maths Champion Badges 4 Cedar: Kanqi Shan Ali Dinah Ibrahim Ali David Christian

Stone Age Shelters

This week in

Design Tech-

nology Year

3 designed

and made

their very own

Stone Age

shelters. They had to think carefully about

how they would construct their shelter using

the kind of materials Stone Age people would

have had available to them. The children also

worked together to make fires for cooking,

spears for hunting and a frame for drying

meat and fish. Year 3 are really enjoying

learning all about the Stone Age this term!

Cross Country Racing

39 children from Years

3,4,5 and 6 took part in the

Camden Schools Sports

Association Cross-Country

Run at Parliament Hill

Fields. All of our team performed well in a very

long race which included run-

ning up 'Kite Hill'. Many con-

gratulations to Amine in Year

6 who won a gold medal for

finishing first in his race of

over 140 of the best runners

in Camden!

Another top ten medal winner

was Yusuf in Year 5 who fin-

ished 8th in his race of 160

runners! Sham (Year 3) and

Ronney (Year 6) won med-

als for their effort and sports-

manship. Well done to all of

our runners for their perse-

verance and determination.
