Safety instructions 6

Designated use

Please read carefully through the following information and keep these operation instructions, in case you need to refer to them later.

If you pass the product on to someone else, please also include these instructions.

. Ladders are designed to support one person plus materials and tools per side on 2-man stepladders or only one person, plus materials and tools on step or single ladders not more than the working load on the notice sign on this ladder.

. The 3 piece multi-use extension ladder is a multi way ladder. It serves as a climbing aid or to carry out minor activities at heights that can be reached using the ladder. It is not suitable for industrial use.

. This 3 piece multi-use extension ladder is not intended for use by persons (including children) with limit physical, sensory or mental abilities or lacking experience and/or knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have received instructions for use of the device from this person in advance.

. Keep children away from packaging material. Su�ocation hazard if swallowed. Ensure that packaging bag is not put over the head.

. Children should be supervised in order to ensure that they do not play on the ladder.

▪ Do not position the ladder on stairs.

▪ Do not position the ladder too near to a corner.

▪ In a doorway or gateway area, ensure no one is using the entrance while you are using the ladder. Doors and windows must be locked.

▪ Visually check the ladder is not damaged and is safe to use at the start of each working day when the ladder is to be used.

▪ For professional users regular periodic inspection is required

▪ Ensure the ladder is suitable for the task

▪ Locking devices, if �tted, shall be fully secured before use.

▪ Make sure all rivets and joints, nuts and bolts are tight; feet, steps and rungs secure; spreaders function properly.

▪ Never make temporary repairs of damaged or missing parts.

▪ Ladder shall be erected at the correct position, such as the correct angle for a leaning ladder (angle of inclination approximately 1:4) with rungs or treads level and complete opening of a standing ladder.

▪ If the stiles or rungs of the ladder are bent or dented, the ladder must not be used. There is an increased risk of accident from the ladder bending !

▪ Always wear sturdy shoes for climbing the ladder.

▪ Never climb the ladder barefoot or with �imsy shoes. There is an increased risk of an accident. The rungs of the ladders are too narrow as a secure stepping surface for a bare foot.

▪ The lean-to surface must be even, sturdy and a su�cient size, i.e. both ladder stiles must have an equally secure hold on the lean-to surface.

▪ Do not use any items to temporarily extend the ladder.

▪ Do not use the ladder for bridging purposes.

General accident risk 7Climbing a ladder requires a high level of attention.

Only climb the ladder in good physical condition. Fatigue also leads to carelessness.Only climb the ladder when the ladder is completely unfolded.

Never climb the ladder under the in�uence of alcohol, drugs, medications or other substances, which can impair sight or balance, dexterity or judgement.

Do not climb the ladder if you are alone. Someone must be nearby (within calling range) in case of emergencies.

▪ Prior to starting work, check that the ladder is good condition.

▪ Place the ladder on a level and horizontal surface with all feet !!

▪ The rungs must not be used as a support/surface.

▪ On a soft surface, e.g. grass, soil or sand, a suitable base must be used, in order to prevent the ladder feet from sinking.

▪ Do not put the ladder on slippery surfaces, e.g. ice, dirt from lubricants or soap suds or similar.

▪ Prior to erecting the ladder, take appropriate measures to prevent it from sliding away/carefully remove dirt.

CAUTION : Electrical shock hazard ! Ladder is electrically conductive ! Work must not be carried out on electrical systems or lines with this ladder !

▪ Do not lean any items against the ladder. Do not hang tools or materials on the ladder or on the rungs.

▪ When working on the ladder, keep hold with one hand. If there is not possible, take additional safety precautions.

▪ Avoid excess sideways stress, e.g. when drilling into brickwork or concrete.

▪ Only use the ladder for light work of short duration Fatigue is a hazard-climb o� of the ladder regularly and maintain breaks.

▪ Items that are carried when climbing the ladder must not be heavy and must be easy to handle.

▪ Maintain a safety distance of at least 6 feet 6.7 inches away from suspended electric cables.

▪ The maximum load for the ladder is 225 IBS.

▪ Always climb the ladder alone. Another person may only climb the ladder when the previous person has left the ladder.

▪ Do not use the ladder in unfavourable weather conditions. e.g. with lightning, strong rain or wind.

▪ Do not climb the ladder in darkness. If applicable, lay electric cables so that they do not become a trip hazard.

▪ There must always be free access to the ladder.

▪ Do not climb o� the ladder sideways and do not use for climbing onto another surface.

▪ When moving the ladder, pay attention to a possible collision with persons or items.

▪ Do not step o� a leaning ladder at a higher level without additional security, such as tying o� or use of a suitable stability device.

▪ Do not stand on the top three steps/rungs of a leaning ladder.

▪ Do not stand on the top two steps/rungs of a standing ladder without a platform and hand/knee rail.

▪ Do not stand on the top four steps/rungs of a standing ladder with an extending ladder at the top.

▪ Leaning ladders used for access to a higher level should be extended at least 3 feet above the landing point.

▪ Make sure ladder is fully open and spreaders are secure.

▪ Securely engage ladder locks before climbing. Check that top and bottom ends of ladder rails are �rmly supported.

▪ The ladder must never be moved into a new position from the top.

▪ For ascending and descending, always have your face turned toward the ladder and use both hands alternately and hold tightly.

▪ Do not lean out too far to the sides the ladder could slide away. For your own safety, it is better to move the ladder more frequently.

▪ Do not overreach: users should keep their body inside the stiles and both feet on the same step/rung throughout the task.

▪ Do not use any metal items, aggressive chemical detergents, abrasives, hard sponges, or similar, for cleaning. Clean the aluminium ladder after each use, as required.

▪ Remove paint residue, gypsum, plaster or similar before it dries/hardens.

▪ Clean the ladder from the outside with a cloth that has been slightly moistened with water, using some dishwashing liquid.

▪ Store the ladder in a dry place.

8Repair and MaintenanceCaution – property damage

Do not carry out any repairs on the aluminium ladder !!

▪ Your 3 piece multi-use ladder is maintenance-free. Always keep the ladder clean and dry.

▪ If the ladder cannot be pulled apart or pushed together, the stiles may be bent. In the event of this, do not continue to use the ladder.

▪ Properly secure and support ladder while in transit.

▪ Never store materials on ladder.

• The warranty period is valid for 3 years from the date of purchase. Please keep the receipt as proof of purchase.• During the warranty period, you can send defective aluminum ladders prepaid by us to our service address (see below). • After the warranty period expires you also have the option to send the defective unit for repair to our address (see below). Repairs carried out after the warranty period has expired are subject to a charge.• This warranty does not affect your statutory rights.

• This warranty shall not apply to damages caused by improper handling or force majeure. This warranty shall lapse if it becomes apparent that the unit has been tampered with in any way.• In the event that the unit needs to be sent to our service address (see below) for repair work, please ensure that the unit is packed appropriately.• We assume no responsibility, and shall not be held liable for any damages that occur in transit.
