• Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickamauga, Shawnee, and Creek Indians

• Many of their customs were similar• Choctaw marriage method- Good ‘Ol

intermarry with the Choctaw and they had children- Halfbloods

• Creeks of Ocmulgee River• “After their return the warriors placed the

scalps in the public square, or divided them among their acquaintances.”

• Scalping was used to show power and for religious purposed within the tribe

• Dance was for entertainment, religion, ceremonies, and customs such as weddings

• Medicine- similar to home remedies for sickness

• Tribes were either RED or White… Red meant that they were Warriors, and White meant they were at peace
