Traveling shot of a pick up truck turning into a road, green street sign indicates it’s Chase street, the truck comes to a stop outside number 328.

FOCUS ON SIGN ON THE TRUCK DOOR L.T CONSTRUCTION.

The truck door opens, Stepping out of the truck is LUKE THOMAS (36). Tall handsome male who doesn't look impressed with the view of the property he has parked outside.

PAN TO TIRED LOOKING DUPLEX FOR SALE IN CHASE STREET THAT IS SPLIT INTO TWO HOUSEHOLDS WITH SEPARATE ENTRANCES.

The passenger door opens ANNA THOMAS (35). Tall blonde elegant female steps out of the passenger door. Standing outside the duplex on Chase street is a female estate agent who waves over at Luke and Anna.

LUKEWhen was the last time this place got a lick of paint?

Anna nudges Luke hoping the estate agent didn't hear his comment.

ESTATE AGENTYou must be the Thomas’s?

ANNAI’m Anna and this is my husband Luke.

ESTATE AGENTShall we head inside?

CUT TO:

INT. 328 CHASE STREET - DAY

Inside the duplex Anna and Luke scan the property eying up the tired looking decor, the duplex looks like it hasn't seen any decoration in over 20 years. Luke doesn’t look impressed.

LUKEWow! I love the 80’s decor.

ESTATE AGENTIt’s on the market as a great fixer upper opportunity.

LUKEYou can say that again.

ANNAMy husband owns a construction company, so we are looking for a fixer upper opportunity.

Luke takes a seat on a dusty chair that still remains in the living area.

LUKEIt needs a complete makeover, who lived here before?

ESTATE AGENTIt was owned by an elderly couple, the Peterson’s. Sadly, her husband passed away in his favorite chair.

The Estate agent looks down at the chair Luke is sitting on, Luke jumps up from the dusty chair brushing himself down.

ESTATE AGENT (CONT’D)She then moved to a retirement home.

ANNAThat is so sad.

LUKEHow long has it been empty?

ESTATE AGENTBoth sides of the duplex have been empty for over 10 years.

ANNA(Shocked) 10 years?

ESTATE AGENTHence the price. We are looking for a quick sale.

LUKEIt needs a lot of work.

ANNAWe could make this work.

LUKEFor the price we could, How much would it be if we wanted to purchase the other side of the duplex?

ESTATE AGENTThe other side of the duplex has already been purchased.

LUKEWhat? By whom?

ANNAAbout that.

Suddenly the front door bursts open, in walks Anna’s father PETER (60). Short male with grey hair and glasses.

PETER(Excited) Anna!

LUKEPlease don’t say what I think you are going to say?

ANNA(Happy) I was going to tell you but I wanted to keep it a surprise.

PETERAre you going to take it?

LUKESorry everyone, can I just have a word with my wife?

Luke ushers Anna into the kitchen area away from the estate agent and her dad.

ANNADon't be mad.

LUKEHoney I was looking forward to moving away from your father not next door to him.

PETER (O.S.)I heard that.

ANNAMom and Dad didn't want to be away from the kids, dad has offered to help with renovations and mom has offered to baby sit the kids anytime.

LUKEIf he interferes then I'm building my own house in the back yard.

Anna laughs at Luke’s comment.

LUKE (CONT’D)(Chuckling) Don't laugh, I mean it, If anyone can make this work we can.

Anna and Luke embrace in a hug then walk over to the estate agent who is waiting anxiously next to Peter.

ANNAWe’ll take it.

TITLE:

328 CHASE STREET


An estate vehicle with Peter and his wife JUDITH (62). Elderly lady pulls up outside the duplex, Pulling up behind them is Anna and Luke.

Stepping out of the pick up truck excited is Luke and Anna’s son NOAH (13) cheeky happy boy, followed by daughter GRACE (15)

LUKEHere we are.

Peter opens the trunk of his car and picks up a box.

ANNADad, I don’t want you or mom lifting any of the heavy boxes.

LUKENoah come and grab some boxes.

Anna and Grace begin to take their belongings into their side of the duplex, Noah and Luke head over to Peter’s car and each pick up a box, Luke heads into Peter and Judith’s side of the duplex while Noah slowly follows trying not to drop the box he is carrying, he walks up the porch nearly dropping the box, Luke walks out just in time to take the box from him as he heads inside.

CUT TO:

INT. 328 CHASE STREET - DAY

Luke places a box onto a kitchen work-top.

LUKEI can’t wait to introduce this kitchen to my sledgehammer.

Suddenly there is a knock at the door, Anna answers the door to her neighbor PAULA (40). Hair in rollers and face full of make up with big earrings.

PAULAHi, I’m paula, I live next door. It is so nice to finally see somebody move in.

ANNAHi paula, I’m Anna and this is my husband Luke, Our son Noah.

Paula waves over at Noah.

ANNA (CONT’D)Our daughter Grace.

PAULASo nice to meet you all, what church do you go to?

ANNAWe are all catholic.

PAULAWe have a wonderful church in our community, come along Sunday and I'll introduce you to everybody.

ANNAWe will. Thank you.

PAULAIf you need anything just pop next door.

LUKEShe seems nice.

Anna walks over to the basement door located in the kitchen. She twists the handle to find it locked.

ANNADid the estate agent leave a key for the basement?

Luke checks his keys.

LUKE No.

ANNAOh, the basement door is locked.

LUKEI’ll get it open.

Luke picks up a crowbar and forces the door open snapping the hinges in the process.

ANNALooks like we need a new door.

Anna and luke look down into the dark gloomy basement, Anna flicks on the light switch and they begin to walk down the basement steps.

LUKEWhat on earth has been going on down here?

ANNALooks like some kids have broken in and did graffiti on the walls.

The basement walls are covered in sprayed graffiti symbols and signs, Luke begins to push his way through junk and boxes, he knocks over a box which lands next to Anna, She looks down at the sealed box intrigued by the writing which says DO NOT OPEN! Luke spots a broken window in the basement.

LUKEThat explains how they got in. I’ll get this boarded up.

He begins to measure it up. He looks over at Anna trying to open the box.

LUKE (CONT’D)Found something?

ANNAI wanna see what’s inside, Can you help me open it? It’s sealed really well.

Luke pulls out a pen knife and begins hacking away at the box, he pulls away the flaps and looks inside.

ANNA (CONT’D)What’s inside?

Luke pulls out a worn tatty statue of the virgin Mary followed by a statue of Jesus.

ANNA (CONT’D)Wow, these must be antique.

LUKELet’s put them up for auction.

ANNAYou can’t put these up for auction, they’re beautiful.

Anna pulls out another religious statue of a saint followed by a statue of an angel looking at them mesmerized.

LUKEWhat are you going to do with them?

ANNAI’m going to put them around the house.

Anna puts the statues back into the box, Luke picks up the box and the pair head up the basement steps.

CUT TO:


From over a man’s shoulder we see him knocking at Peter and Judith’s side of the duplex, It’s the local carpet shop delivery man holding Judith’s new rolled up carpet.

DELIVERY MANHello Ma’am, here to lay your new carpet.

JUDITHOh yes, it is going in the living room.

DELIVERY MANNo problem.

The Delivery man heads inside and proceeds to lay the carpet.

CUT TO:

INT. ANNA AND LUKE’S DUPLEX - DAY

Luke and Peter are installing new kitchen units. Anna begins to place the religious statues around the house. She places the Jesus statue in the Living area then heads upstairs carrying the other religious statues.

CUT TO:

INT. PETER AND JUDITH DUPLEX - DAY

Judith is standing in the kitchen area unpacking boxes and putting away kitchen crockery. The carpet man has finished laying the carpet.

DELIVERY MANAll done.

Judith heads over to the living room area and inspects the man’s work. He has laid the red carpet immaculate.

JUDITHLooks great, thank you.

DELIVERY MANYou could just sign here.

Delivery man hands Judith a pen to sign his form on his clipboard.

DELIVERY MAN (CONT’D)Have a nice day.

Judith lets the delivery man out then closes the door, she turns around and notices the red carpet has a big dark stain, something she didn't notice before the delivery man had left. Judith stares at the stain looking confused.

CUT TO:


KITCHEN

Next door, Luke and Peter are installing a big chandelier light in the kitchen, Luke is standing on a step ladder while Peter supports him at the bottom of the ladder, visible next to them on the counter are two tools, Torque wrench and spanner.

LUKECan you pass me the spanner?

Peter reaches for the spanner, the torque wrench is visible on the counter, Peter tightens the bolt.

LUKE (CONT’D)Can you pass me the torque wrench.

The torque wrench is no longer on the counter.

PETERWhere did you put it?

LUKE(Positive) Next to the spanner.

PETER(Confused) It’s not here.

DOOR OPENS in walks Judith.

LUKEHey Judith, has the carpet arrived?

Luke steps down off the step ladder.

JUDITHYes, but there seems to be a stain that has appeared out of nowhere and I can’t get rid of it, I’m certain it wasn’t there when he finished laying it.

PETERWhat kind of stain?

JUDITHA big round stain, I've scrubbed and scrubbed but it won’t go away.

PETERMaybe it’s some grease of the Man’s boots, I’ll come take a look at it.

Peter and Judith leave.

LUKEThis torque wrench peter.

The torque wrench has suddenly re-appeared on the counter, Luke climbs back up the step ladder and tightens the bolts with the torque wrench.

LUKE (CONT’D)(To self) You are going nowhere.

Anna walks down the stairs.

ANNAWow is this the same kitchen?

LUKE It’s getting there.

ANNAThat's our bedroom unpacked so at least we have somewhere to sleep. Where’s my Dad?

LUKEHe popped next door to scrub the carpet, apparently it’s got a big stain, you know what your mum is like she probably dropped something on it and is too scared to tell him.

ANNAOh dear, I’ll pop in and see if they’re OK, I’m going to invite them over for dinner tonight.

LUKEYeah go for it.

ANNAI have a meeting with the school and I’ll need to pop to the store to get something for dinner, don’t work too hard.

CUT TO:


BATHROOM

Luke is tightening up bolts under the bath tub, he gets up admiring his work, the bathroom now looks fresh and vibrant. Luke leaves the bathroom and heads into his bedroom to get changed, he opens the closet door and picks out a shirt suddenly the radio on the bedside table blares out white noise startling Luke, he jumps and falls into the dresser causing the statue of the virgin Mary to fall off and smash with its head and body coming apart, Luke looks down at the statue.

LUKEOh no.

He rushes over to turn off the radio.

FRONT DOOR OPENS

Anna walks through the door carrying a grocery bag.

ANNALuke.

Luke leaves the bedroom, as he leaves we get a view of the radio all the way down to the plug which was unplugged the whole time, unknown to Luke.

KITCHEN

LUKEHey hon.

ANNAThe place is looking great.

LUKEIt’s getting there. I’ve got a surprise for you.

Excited he takes Anna to the bathroom standing behind her blindfolding her with his hands, he takes his hands away and points to the newly decorated bathroom.

ANNAWOW, I love it.

LUKEI had a accident in the bedroom.

ANNAWhat have you done?

LUKEI knocked your statue of the dresser.

Anna walks into the bedroom and spots the Virgin Mary statue in the same place she left it on the dresser.

ANNAVery funny.

LUKEWhat? I swear it fell off the dresser.

ANNAI think you have been working way too hard.

They leave the bedroom the last shot is of the Virgin Mary statue on the dresser.

CUT TO:

INT. ANNA AND LUKE’S DUPLEX - NIGHT

KITCHEN

The family are seated round the kitchen table, they are about to say grace before eating.

ANNADad why don’t you do the honours?

PETERBless us o Lord and these thy gifts, which we are about to receive from thy bounty through Christ our lord, amen.

ALLAmen.

JUDITHThe kitchen looks wonderful.

PETERDid you manage to get Noah and Grace into Wyoming high school?

ANNAI did, they start Monday.

PETERThat’s good news.

ANNAWe are also going to the local church tomorrow, you should come along.

JUDITHThat will be nice.

LUKEDid you manage to get the stain out of the carpet?

PETERAfter scrubbing it 6 times, it finally came out.

The family continue to eat at the kitchen table.

CUT TO:

LIVING AREA

In the background Anna, Grace and Judith can be seen clearing down the kitchen table, Luke and Peter are seated in the living area watching a baseball game on the TV and drinking a beer. Noah comes in to sit with Luke, Suddenly the TV makes a noise and the baseball game goes off while the screen goes fuzzy, The TV begins to smoke before it sets itself on fire, Luke jumps up and runs to get a fire extinguisher to put the flames out.

PETER(Panicking) What just happened?

Anna comes running into the living area.

ANNAAre you guys OK?

LUKEWe’re fine.

13.

ANNAHow did it happen?

LUKEI don’t know! We were just watching the ball game and it just burst into flames.

PETERIs the TV faulty?

LUKENo its brand new.

PETERIs it the wiring?

LUKEI don’t know, I build things I'm not an expert in electronics.

ANNAIt’s fine, the TV can be replaced and maybe we should call the electric company to get the wiring looked at, After all this place hasn't been lived in for over 10 years.

LUKEThat’s a good idea, you know the radio turned on by itself in the bedroom today, Perhaps we have a short circuit or some bad wiring?

CUT TO:

INT. PETER AND JUDITH DUPLEX - NIGHT

Peter and Judith return from dinner walking through their entrance of the duplex.

PETERThat was a eventful end to the evening.

They both stop in their tracks staring at the carpet.

JUDITHPeter, I thought you said you got the stain out.

PETERI did.

Peter and Judith walk over to the carpet bewildered by the stain that has re-appeared.

CUT TO:

INT. CHURCH - DAY

Rows of people are gathered in the church, sitting in the front row are the Thomas family, standing at the front of the church behind the alter is FATHER DAVIS (56) .

FATHER DAVISWe would like to welcome into our church family, The Thomas’s.

FATHER DAVIS (CONT’D)Join us for this prayer, Glory be to the Father..

BEDROOM

Pan from statue of Virgin Mary to Anna and Luke sleeping, We are taken from Anna and Luke’s bedroom to Grace’s bedroom focusing on her sleeping, next to Graces bed we focus on the religious statue of the angel, we then go to Noah’s bedroom stopping to focus on the religious statue of the saint, Camera switches to a unknown point of view. We hear the onlooker growling slightly moving erratically through the duplex, we end up in the bathroom and the onlooker doesn't look happy with the changes that have been made.

INT. ANNA AND LUKE’S DUPLEX - MORNING

BATHROOM

Luke walks into the bathroom

LUKEWhat the..

The bathroom has been trashed, the sink is chipped as if someone has smashed it with a hammer, the bath tub and tiles have big claw marks over them, Luke is shocked.

CUT TO:

KITCHEN

Luke is discussing with Anna the possibilities of what could have destroyed the bathroom.

ANNAYou don't think they got in through the basement do you?

LUKEI’m sure we would have heard something?

ANNAShould we call the cops?

LUKEDoesn't seem like anything has been taken, there's no footprints and no signs of a break in.

Noah and Grace make there way down stairs to the kitchen table.

GRACEThere was a really bad smell in my bedroom last night.

ANNAWhat kind of smell?

GRACESmelt like sewage, and old mouldy trash it woke me up.

ANNAIt could have been your dad’s feet.

GRACENo Mom it was worse.

LUKEDon’t worry I've got an electrician coming over to check the wiring and I'll check out the sewage pipes later.

ANNAWhat about the bathroom?

LUKEA new basin and new tub, I’ll go to the hardware store this morning.

Anna looks out the window.

ANNASchool bus is here.

Noah and Grace pick up their school bags before heading out the door.

ANNA (CONT’D)Enjoy the first day at your new school.

NOAHOK Mom.

CUT TO:


Noah and Grace head towards the school bus, the kids on the bus stare out the window, They get on the bus with everybody’s eyes fixated on them.

GRACELet’s sit here.

Noah and grace take a seat on the bus. One of the kids on the bus who is sitting behind Noah and Grace leans over the chair.

KIDHave you really moved into that place?

GRACEYeah Why?

KIDIts the scariest house on the block.

The school bus heads off down chase street.

KITCHEN

Luke is about to leave to go to the hardware store.

LUKEHeading to the hardware store, be back soon.

Luke kisses Anna then heads out the front door, Anna takes a seat at the kitchen table, and she picks up her coffee cup and takes a sip. Suddenly she hears a knock on the wall upstairs. She decides to go and investigate. She walks past the bathroom and hears the toilet flush. She walks backwards looking into the trashed bathroom, she walks inside looking around the toilet area. She turns around and sees a figure behind the shower curtain. She slowly walks towards the curtain with her heart racing, she reaches out and pulls the curtain aside to find no one stood behind.

DOORBELL

A Startled Anna heads downstairs to open the front door.

ELECTRIC GUYHi the electric company sent me.

ANNAAh yes, come in.

Anna spots a carpet van parked outside, Judith seeing off the workman catches Anna.

EXT. DUPLEX PORCH - DAY

JUDITHMorning Anna.

ANNANew Carpet?

JUDITHWe had to throw away the other carpet, Peter got the stain out and then it reappeared.

ANNADid you scrub it again?

JUDITHWe scrubbed and scrubbed, tried every stain remover we had, the stain went away, then it just kept coming back.

ANNAThat is strange, We had something strange happen on our side too.

JUDITHWhat was it?

ANNAOur bathroom was trashed during the night, we don’t know how it happened.

The electric guy interrupts Anna.

ELECTRIC GUYMrs Thomas.

ANNAI’ll see you later Mom.

ELECTRIC GUYChecked all the circuits and everything is fine.

ANNAReally? Our TV burst into flames unexpectedly.

ELECTRIC GUYMaybe, it’s worth getting in touch with the manufacturer.

ANNA(unconvinced) Maybe?

BATHROOM

Luke is finishing installing the replacement sink, Anna is standing in the bathroom doorway.

LUKEThat should do it, I’m going to make a start on the basement tomorrow.

ANNAThe electric company said the wiring was fine.

LUKEThat’s good news, I checked the sewage pipes and couldn't find where the smell is coming from.

ANNAHave you noticed the strange things happening lately?

LUKEWhat strange things?

ANNAMom and Dad’s carpet, the TV, our bathroom being destroyed, when you left this morning I heard a knock on the wall.

LUKEWhat are you suggesting? We have a ghost.

Luke laughs at his comment which upsets Anna.

ANNAMaybe.

LUKEHoney come on, you know I don’t believe in all that.

ANNAHow do you explain what happened in here?

LUKELook I’m sure its nothing.

BEDROOM

Pan from Angel statue to Grace Sleeping, She pulls a grotesque face from a disgusting smell lingering around her. The smell wakes her up, slowly opening her eyes in a tired daze her expression turns to terror. Above her bed is a floating lady dressed in Victorian clothing with a bonnet on her head, she looks down at grace with a angry demeanor which frightens her.

GRACE(Screams) Mom, Dad!

Anna wakes up from Grace’s screaming.

ANNALuke wake up.

Luke from a snoring deep sleep wakes up.

LUKEWhat? What?

Grace comes running into Anna and Luke’s bedroom.

GRACE(Frantic) There is a lady in my room.

Luke rushes into Grace’s room and switches on the light. There is no sign of anything in her room, he heads back into his bedroom.

LUKEThere is nothing in your room.

GRACE(Upset) Dad I saw her floating above me.

ANNAIt could have been a dream.

GRACEIt wasn’t a dream. I saw her. You do believe me, don’t you?

ANNAOf course, we do.

CUT TO:


BEDROOM

Luke sits next to Grace as she sleeps. He sees she is asleep and makes his way back to his bedroom. Anna is up in bed waiting for him.

ANNAThere is something not right in this house.

LUKENot this again I'm tired.

ANNAYou saw how terrified she was.

Thud noise, Luke looks around.

LUKEWhat was that?

Creak, Creak, Anna listens out for the noise, Creak, Creak.

ANNAIt sounds like it is coming from the porch.

LUKECould it be your Dad?

ANNAAt 3:30 in the morning?

They both go down stairs to find out what the noise is, Luke leading the way with Anna close behind, the creaking noise continues to echo on the porch.

EXT. DUPLEX - NIGHT

Luke opens the front door, a rocking chair is going back and forth on the porch, he puts his hand on the chair to stop it rocking.

LUKECould be the wind.

ANNA(Annoyed) There is no wind.

LUKEWhat is going on?

Luke closes the door, they both head back inside and the chair begins to rock once again on the porch.

CUT TO:


KITCHEN

Anna is eating breakfast with Noah and Grace at the kitchen table, the sound of the school bus pulls up outside.

ANNASchool bus is here.

Anna kisses the kids goodbye, Noah and Grace leave to catch the school bus.

CUT TO:

BASEMENT

Luke is painting the wall covered in graffiti, he begins to paint over the symbols in white paint. He looks into his paint tin realizing he is low on paint and puts the tin down. He heads up the basement steps. Halfway up the steps we pan back to the wall and see the graffiti symbols emerge through the white paint unknown to Luke, he makes his way into the kitchen and spots Anna heading towards the basement carrying a clothes hamper.

LUKEJust need to pop to the hardware store to pick up some more paint.

ANNAYou used a whole tin already?

LUKEJust on one wall.

ANNAI'm popping down to do some laundry.

LUKEI'll see you when I get back.

Luke heads out the front door as Anna heads down into the basement.

CUT TO:

BASEMENT

Anna is walking down the basement steps carrying the clothes hamper, she places the hamper of the floor in front of the washer then kneels down and begins to load the clothes inside before slamming the door shut.

SOFT LADY VOICEAnna.

From a kneeling position Anna stands up and turns around.

ANNAHello, somebody there?

She stares over to the dark corner, slowly she walks over to the boarded window listening out for any voices outside. She turns around and begins to walk back to the washer staring at the graffiti symbols on the wall.

SOFT LADY VOICEAnna.

Anna turns around, her heart is racing knowing she is not alone in the basement, she slowly walks towards the boarded window.

SOFT LADY VOICE (CONT’D)Anna.

This time the voice comes from near the washer.

Anna begins to back up to the basement steps walking backwards one step at a time, she gets half way up and there is a calmness, Anna puts her hands over her face and shakes her head. She drops her hands thinking she imagined the whole thing.

HARD GRITTY VOICEANNA!

Anna sprints up the basement steps.

CUT TO:

Anna runs upstairs to her bedroom, she grabs her rosary from the bedside table and gets on her knees to pray clutching the rosary.

ANNAHail Mary full of grace, the lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus, Holy Mary mother of god, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Anna gets up to her feet and begins to check all the rooms upstairs while clutching her rosary, she inspects room by room checking under beds and in closets hoping to find the person who called out her name in the basement.

CUT TO:

INT. PETER AND JUDITH DUPLEX - DAY

Judith is sitting in her chair knitting, through the wall she hears mumbled voices, it stops her knitting, the voices get louder and clearer, it sounds like Anna and Luke shouting at each other, she gets up to listen closer by putting her ear against the wall listening in, suddenly a voice becomes loud and angry.

VOICEYou bitch.

Judith puts her hand over her mouth in shock.

VOICE (CONT’D)You bitch, I hate you, you old bitch.

Judith moves away from the wall shocked and upset by the comments she has heard.

CUT TO:

EXT. PETER AND JUDITH DUPLEX - DAY

Anna knocks at the door.

ANNAHi Dad.

Peter doesn't respond, he looks annoyed and upset.

ANNA (CONT’D)Something wrong?

ANNA (CONT’D)Go and speak to your mother.

Anna looking confused heads inside.

ANNA (CONT’D)Mom are you OK?

JUDITHAnna I'm deeply upset and offended.

ANNAI don’t understand.

JUDITHThe disgusting language I heard coming from your side today.

ANNAWhat language?

JUDITHI heard Luke shouting profanities at me through the wall, I know he doesn't see eye to eye with your father but I didn't expect that from him certainly not from a good catholic.

ANNAI don’t know what you’re talking about, Luke popped out to the hardware store.

JUDITHI could hear him through the wall.

ANNAI came over to ask if you had stopped by today? I heard somebody call my name when I was in the basement I wanted to check if it was you.

INT. BUS - DAY

Noah and Grace are seated on the travelling bus, a kid leans over the seats.

KIDSeen any ghosts? My Mom and Dad said your house is haunted.

Noah looks concerned, Grace senses this.

GRACEIgnore him.

The bus comes to a stop. Noah and grace get off the bus. The kid on the bus looks out the window smirking. As the bus drives down Chase Street, he looks up at the duplex and spots in the top window an old lady in a big black gown with an old wrinkled pale scary face and hair tied up in a bun looking out of the window at him, the kid on the bus locks eyes with her as she gives him a sinister smile. He is instantly frightened by the sight of her, The bus drives off down Chase Street and the lady is no longer visible in the window.

Anna and Luke are sit in the living area discussing the day’s events.

ANNAI was loading the washer and I heard someone call my name as if he/she/it was right there in the basement.

LUKEI spoke to your Mom, she is fine now, she is still adamant she heard my voice.

ANNAI tried to explain to her you were at the hardware store.

LUKESeems like things are getting worse.

ANNAI’m praying harder each day.

Noah gets up to go to the bathroom, the sound of urine hitting the toilet water echoes in the bathroom. A creaking floorboard is heard outside the bathroom, Noah looks on worried, he steps out of the bathroom. Looks around and see’s nothing. He begins walking back to his bedroom, he hears a creek behind him which makes him stop in his tracks, Noah turns around and standing outside the bathroom is the ghostly figure of the old lady in the black dress. Noah terrified, runs into his bedroom and jumps into his bed hiding under the covers, Noah is heavily breathing scared to look out, he lifts the duvet slowly trying to peek out to check if anything is in his bedroom, he can’t see anything so he pulls the duvet down from his face. Suddenly the ghostly old lady appears in front of Noah’s face, he screams.

NOAHMOM, DAD!!

Anna and Luke come running into Noah’s bedroom switching the bedroom light on.

LUKEWhat’s wrong?

NOAHThere is an old lady in my bedroom.

LUKEWhere?

NOAHShe was here in my bedroom.

ANNAIts OK honey, there is nobody here.

NOAH(sobbing) Can I sleep in your room.

ANNASure honey.

They all exit Noah’s bedroom.

Anna stands leaning against the kitchen counter looking tired and depressed, Grace looks over at her.

GRACEMom You all right?

ANNAI’m fine honey just a little tired that's all.

GRACEYou don’t seem yourself.

ANNAI’m fine really, Noah don’t forget soccer practice after school.

NOAH(No enthusiasm) Yes.

GRACEI’m just worried about you mom.

Anna moves over to the sink area and spots the school bus heading down Chase street.

ANNA (CONT’D)Bus is here.

Noah and Grace head to the front door, Grace turns to Noah.

Anna is sitting at the kitchen table, visible in shot is the Jesus statue in the living area, she opens up her laptop and types into a search engine how to stop haunting’s. Engrossed reading the content , Anna sits thinking, she types in Chase street history and presses the enter button, we get a glimpse of the words Smurl family haunting before the computer shuts off. Anna looking confused checks over her laptop, A growl is heard off camera causing Anna to look up. In front of her is a smoky black hooded entity with piercing red eyes. It reaches its arms out and makes a piercing screeching noise towards her. Anna jumps for cover under the kitchen table watching the entity disappear past her. Anna panics knowing the entity headed towards her parents side, she runs next door.

ANNAMom, Dad.

Judith is sat down in her chair in the living area.

JUDITHAnna I just saw something.

ANNAYou did?

JUDITHIt came through the wall.

ANNAI saw it too.

ANNAI was thinking of visiting the old lady that used to live here to find out if she experienced anything similar.

LUKE It might give us some answers.

ANNAI read earlier that a priest blessing our home could help too. I was thinking of speaking to the church tomorrow.

LUKEI’m not sure that is a good idea. Grace is getting confirmed tomorrow.

Anna walks through the retirement home, on each door she walks by she spots a plaque with engraved names, she spots Mrs Peterson and knocks on the door.

VOICECome in.

Anna walks into the room and spots somebody sitting in a chair with her back to her facing the window.

ANNAAre you Mrs Peterson?

VOICEYes dear, who might you be?

ANNAMy name is Anna, I recently moved into your old home on chase street and I just wanted to find out if you experienced anything odd when you lived there?

MRS PETERSONNo dear, before he passed, me and Eric lived a peaceful life in chase street.

MRS PETERSONNo dear, the home was very quiet.

Mrs Peterson (70) old frail creepy looking lady turns around in her chair and looks over at Anna with an ominous look.

MRS PETERSON (CONT’D)Don’t worry, you are safe in that home.

ANNAThank you Mrs Peterson.

Anna leaves the room and heads out the retirement home with a smile on her face, once outside she looks up to Mrs peterson’s room to wave her goodbye, the chair facing the window is now empty leaving Anna looking on confused.

Anna is standing with Grace pinning a special collar onto her dress, Noah is doing his homework at the kitchen table he gets up and takes it over to Anna for help.

Noah walks back to the kitchen table, visible in shot is the Jesus statue in the living area, suddenly a thud noise is heard above which causes everybody to look up.

A giant ripping sound echoes in the kitchen, suddenly the chandelier which Luke had bolted to the ceiling comes crashing down, Grace and Anna scream and jump for cover while Noah gets struck on the shoulder as he tries to move out of the way, Noah falls down holding his shoulder in pain, Luke comes running down the stairs.

Luke carries Noah through the front door and takes him straight upstairs to bed as he sleeps on his shoulder.

Grace heads upstairs, Anna stands and looks at the kitchen staring at the dangling loose wires, Luke comes back down stairs to help clean the mess from the fallen chandelier.

LUKEWhatever this is, it’s clearly trying to hurt us.

ANNAThat light was so close to hitting Noah on the head.

Luke holds Anna.

EXT. DUPLEX PORCH - DAY

Anna is sweeping the porch with a broom, she hears a voice call her name and spots her neighbour Paula.

PAULAHey Anna just wanted to check if you were OK? We heard an almighty smash last night from your place.

ANNAThat was our chandelier, it fell down and landed on noah.

PAULAOh my, is he OK.

ANNALuckily he’s fine.

PAULAWhat caused it to fall?

ANNAWe don’t know? We’ve been having some strange occurrences in our house lately.

ANNAI don’t want to sound crazy but we hear knocking on the walls, I heard my name called out in the basement, Noah and Grace claim they have seen people in their rooms.

PAULAI did, when Mrs peterson lost her husband she looked so lost, I'm glad she had company when she went into that retirement home.

Anna walks into the retirement home and heads to Mrs Peterson’s room, The door plaque now reads Harrison. A nurse walks past and Anna stops her.

NURSEI did, we lost Mrs peterson 3 years ago.

The nurse walks off as Anna stands in shock.

LIVING ROOM

Anna is on the telephone with the church, visible in shot is the Jesus statue in the living area.

ANNA Hi, may I speak to Father Davis.

TELEPHONE VOICE (O.S.)Father Davis is unavailable at this moment. Can I take a message?

ANNAWe have been experiencing some strange occurrences in our home and we were hoping Father Davis would be able to come and bless it.

TELEPHONE VOICE (O.S.)I'm afraid Father Davis is tied up with weddings and christenings for a while.

Anna hangs up the telephone disappointed, she looks up the number for the Pittsburgh office in the phone book and taps it into the telephone, through a crackly line a deep male voice answers.

VOICE (O.S.)Hello.

ANNA I just spoke to the Scranton office and they have nobody available to bless our home, so they said to give you a call.

VOICE (O.S.)What makes you want to get your home blessed?

ANNAWe’ve been having some strange occurrences happening ever since we moved in.

VOICE (O.S.)I see, well a blessing of your home can help situations like this, I’ll come over tomorrow.

ANNAThank you so much, oh I didn't catch your name.

Anna hangs up the telephone smiling to herself.

Anna and Luke are lying in bed.

ANNASomeone is coming over tomorrow from the Pittsburgh office to bless our home.

ANNAApparently Father Davis is tied up with weddings and christenings.

ANNA AND LUKE’S DUPLEX - NIGHT

We get a view of something watching Anna and Luke sleeping. Erratically it moves to Noah’s room, Suddenly Noah is pulled out of his bed still sleeping, an invisible force is pulling his arms as it guides him out of his room, he walks past the bath room and the mirror catches a glimpse of the old spirit lady aiding him towards the stairs, he stops and wakes up realizing where he is, nervously he turns around and the old spirit lady is in his face and pushes him down the stairs, he whimpers as he hits the floor crying out in pain, Anna and Luke wake up and rush to his aid.

ANNAHoney what happened?

NOAHI was sleeping and someone pulled me out of bed and pushed me down the stairs.

LUKEAre you hurt?

NOAHMy back.

LUKEBetter take him to the hospital.

ANNAI’ll come with you.

LUKEWhile I help Noah in the truck take Grace next door.

INT. HOSPITAL - NIGHT

Noah is on a hospital bed, a doctor is checking Noah over, Luke and Anna look on nervously as the doctor examines him.

DOCTORI need to check the spine incase of any injuries he might have sustained. We will need to cut his shirt to not cause any discomfort, do you mind?

LUKENo go ahead.

The doctor begins to cut Noah’s T-shirt, with each cut he notices Noah is covered in bruises, the doctor looks on shocked.

DOCTORAre these from the fall down the stairs?

Noah sits in silence, Anna and Luke take a closer look.

ANNAHoney where did you get these bruises?

The Doctor looks on at Anna and Luke suspicious.

LUKENoah is someone bullying you at school?

Luke raises his voice.

LUKE (CONT’D)Noah tell me who gave you those bruises?

DOCTORMr Thomas, Can I have a quiet word with you outside.

LUKESure.

Luke heads out of the patient room to talk to the doctor.

ANNASweetie how did you get those bruises?

NOAHThe lady who comes into my room at night.

ANNAWhat lady?

NOAHThe old scary lady, I pretend to be asleep when she does it mommy, She was the one who threw me down the stairs.

Anna with tears streaming down her face is shocked by the revelation.

OUTSIDE PATIENT ROOM - SAME

Luke now calm begins to get questioned by the doctor.

DOCTORMr Thomas how did your son get those bruises?

LUKEI don’t know ask him.

DOCTORWill he tell me the truth?

DOCTORIt’s something we see a lot. Parents can manipulate their children to say what they want us to hear.

LUKEHold on a minute, are you suggesting I have something to do with this?

DOCTORWe ain’t suggesting nothing, we simply look out for the Childs safety, Your son has clearly suffered some form of abuse and we just want to get to the bottom of it.

LUKEDoc If I told you what was going on, You wouldn't believe it anyhow, I love my son and I wouldn't harm a hair on his head.

The Doctor heads back into the patient room, an upset Anna heads out the room to talk to Luke.

LUKE (CONT’D)What’s wrong?

Anna wipes the tears from her eyes.

ANNANoah said it’s an old lady who comes into his room to abuse him.

ANNAWe need to stop this.

The doctor brings Noah to the door of the patients room.

Anna and Luke sit waiting in the living area, There is a knock at the door. Anna opens the door to reveal FATHER NOMED unsettling looking old man, bald with grey side hair dressed in his priest uniform.

ANNAHi, thank you for coming.

FATHER NOMEDI’m father Nomed nice to meet you.

Anna offers her hand, Father Nomed shakes Anna’s hand.

She places the coffee on the table as they take a seat at the kitchen table, Father Nomed glances around the home.

LUKE Father whatever IT is, we don’t know how it got here, we just want it to leave our family alone.

FATHER NOMEDI’ll take a walk around the home and bless it for you.

Anna and Luke look on as Father Nomed heads upstairs to bless the home, he walks into Anna and Lukes bedroom and picks up the virgin Mary statue.

He puts the statue down and leaves the room heading into Noah’s room. In Noah’s bedroom he picks up the religious statue of the saint.

FATHER NOMED (CONT’D)Pone, Diablous, Custodiam!

Father Nomed puts the statue down and leaves Noah’s bedroom. He looks into Grace’s bedroom and spots the statue of the Angel next to her bed, he picks up the statue.

FATHER NOMED (CONT’D)Verni, omnipotens aeterne diablous.

Father Nomed leaves the room and heads down stairs.

ANNAHow was it Father?

FATHER NOMEDI have blessed all your rooms upstairs, I noticed you had some wonderful religious statues in each room.

ANNAYes we found them when we moved in.

FATHER NOMEDI have blessed them to keep you protected.

ANNADo you want to bless the statue of the lord Jesus Christ I have to.

Anna goes to pick up the statue from the living area.

FATHER NOMEDNo! Its fine I have blessed all I need to.

Anna puts the statue down and heads back into the kitchen.

Luke lets Father Nomed out the door then closes it.

Anna is washing dishes at the sink. Luke is sat doing invoices at the kitchen table.

ANNAIt’s been 2 days and the place feels so different.

LUKELooks like Father Nomed got rid of it.

ANNASure you don’t mind taking my Dad out tonight for a beer with the boys?

LUKEI don’t mind hon, It would be nice for him to get out. What is your Mom doing?

ANNAShe said she is not feeling too good, she is going to take herself up to bed for a lie down.

INT. ANNA AND LUKE’S COMPLEX - NIGHT

Anna is watching TV with Noah and Grace, visible in shot is the Jesus statue in the living area. There is a creak noise upstairs, Anna looks at her children to see if they heard the noise which they haven’t. Anna decides to take a closer look and begins to walk up the stairs to investigate. First she checks Noah’s bedroom and doesn’t find anything, next she walks into Grace’s bedroom and again finds nothing, tensely walking into her bedroom she doesn’t find anything and leaves the room. Suddenly huge bangs on the wall begin to echo throughout the house. Anna runs down the stairs towards the living area. The banging on the walls causes the Jesus statue to fall to the ground. Anna grabs her rosary and clutches Noah and Grace.

ANNAAngel of God, my guardian dear to whom his love commits me here ever this day, be at my side to light and guard to rule and guide.

The banging noises stop.

NOAHOur house is haunted isn’t it mommy.

An upset Anna nods at Noah and Grace and holds her children tight.

Judith is in a deep sleep having not heard any of the banging from next door, she begins to levitate in the air along with her mattress, she then wakes up and begins to panic.

JUDITHOh lord, please put me down.

Judith has no other alternative but to jump off the floating mattress to the floor, she hurts herself wincing in pain, the mattress slams back onto the bed, she sees a ghostly figure of an old man in a top hat and long cloak in the doorway, and he gives her a sinister look before walking off. Judith holds onto her arm in distress.

CUT TO:

EXT. CHASE STREET - NIGHT

Luke’s pick up truck pulls up outside the duplex, Luke and Peter step out of the truck.

LUKEWe will have to do it again some time Peter.

Peter waves good night to Luke and enters his side of the duplex while Luke heads into his side. As he opens the door, he sees Anna seated with Noah and Grace looking upset.

ANNAIT’S back.

Peter marches into Anna and Luke’s duplex upset and angry.

ANNA (CONT’D)Dad are you OK?

PETERI’m not going to let this thing hurt our family any more, We need help from our church.

ANNAThe church said they are tied up with weddings and christenings.

LUKEI don’t care, I am going to the Church tomorrow to demand they help us and not send over someone from a different office.

Anna and Luke walk into the church, they spot Father Davis preparing for a service at the alter and walk over to speak to him.

ANNAFather, we believe our home in chase street is haunted, we had it blessed by a priest from Pittsburgh and it’s actually made things worse. We need your help.

Father Davis is seated at his desk, Luke and Anna sit opposite to him.

FATHER DAVISAround 30 years ago we had a case in Chase Street from a family who claimed they had spirits terrorizing them, the church was reprimanded for not helping the family. When we sent someone over to investigate we found no evidence of a haunting.

Father Davis sits back in his chair and looks at Luke and Anna.

ANNANothing else seems to be happening right now, so why not.

Anna hangs up the phone staring at the number in her hand.

ANNA (V.O.)Hello, my name is Anna Thomas, I live at 328 chase street in west Pittston Pennsylvania, our home is haunted by a spirit which doesn't like my family, I heard it call out my name in our basement, it dropped a chandelier on my son and threw him down the stairs, it bangs on the walls and we cant seem to get help from our church, Please help us.

Camera pulls out to reveal ETHAN SAMSON (30) dark beard with wavy hair sitting at his desk intrigued by the answer phone message, he looks over at psychic detective DANIEL (34) intelligent looking with glasses.

DANIELDid she say Chase street?

Anna is sleeping in bed, a floorboard creaks outside the bedroom door, Anna’s eyes open wide, she looks over at Luke who is deep sleeping, she turns over to shake him.

He doesn’t move, Anna turns around and standing next to the bed is Noah which causes Anna to jump.

NOAHI can’t sleep mommy, people are running around in my bedroom.

Anna gets ups and heads to Noah’s bedroom, they climb into Noah’s bed and he points up to the ceiling.

Suddenly a scuffling noise is heard in the ceiling running around in a frantic pace.

Anna and Noah look up at the ceiling looking puzzled.

Bedroom

Focus on Luke sleeping followed by the duvet being pulled away from him, a figure emerges from the dark and climbs onto the bed towards Luke in a seductive way. From behind the figure resembles Anna wearing a long white Victorian gown, It climbs onto Luke waking him up.

LUKENot tonight Anna, I’m too tired.

A sleepy Luke opens his eyes and his face turns to fright as the camera pans to a disgusting disfigured face of a woman with sores over all over face, black teeth and red eyes peering down at Luke, It begins to carry out a sexual assault smiling and drooling all over him.

LUKE (CONT’D)No, No, No

The figure groans in pleasure as Luke tries to move but is overpowered by the strength of the figure.

LUKE (CONT’D)Get off.

The figure groans as it comes to a climax and gets up from its mounting position, crawling backwards fixated on Luke while smiling on It’s every move, the figure gets off the bed and vanishes in thin air. Back in Noah’s room Anna spots Noah sleeping and moves from the bed trying not to wake him as she makes her way to her bedroom, she spots an upset luke lying on the bed with his hands over his face in shock.

ANNALuke, what’s wrong?

LUKESomething attacked me, I don’t know what it was, I think it was a woman.

Anna begins to get upset.

EXT. CAR TRAVELLING - DAY

Ethan and Daniel are travelling in a van with the ghost investigators logo all over it, they pull up outside The Thomas’s home.

DANIELThis is the famous Chase street.

Ethan turns to Daniel

ETHANI called Anna back and everything she told me points to a serious haunting, are you getting anything?

DANIELNothing in particular.

Ethan and Daniel walk up to The Thomas’s duplex, Ethan knocks on the door, Anna opens the door.

Luke looks out and spots the Van parked up with the ghost investigators logo all over it.

Ethan and Daniel walk inside the duplex scanning the room.

DANIELI heard about this place when I was a kid, never thought I would be investigating it one day.

LUKEI just need to make one thing clear, we are not here to be mocked, if you are here to make a mockery out of us then we are not interested.

Daniel heads down into the basement, he notices the graffiti symbols on the wall and shows concern on his face. He takes a closer look and places his hand on the wall Closing his eyes. Daniel envisions a cult of satanic worshippers in white robes stood around a Ouija board chanting, visible in the shot are the religious statues, he opens his eyes and leaves the basement, he heads into the kitchen area walking past Anna and Luke talking to Ethan about the time line of events in the home, he looks hesitant as he heads upstairs. In each room he visits he is drawn to the religious statues picking each one up then closing his eyes to envision any spirits, In Noah’s room he envisions the spirit of the old lady standing behind him. He opens his eyes and turns to see no one behind him. He heads into Grace’s room and picks up the statue of the angel next to the bed to envision the Victorian lady trying to lash out at him, he opens his eyes and she is gone. He heads into Anna and Luke’s room and is once again drawn to the virgin Mary statue, he picks it up and senses a spirit around him, he puts the statue down and heads out of the room walking towards the stairs, behind him the spirit of an old man in a cloak and top hat is seen walking past the door, Daniel turns to see nothing and heads downstairs.

CUT TO:

KITCHEN

Luke, Anna and Ethan are sat at the kitchen table.

ETHANFrom everything you have told me, I think you may be dealing with a more serious haunting in your home.

Daniel walks into the kitchen and looks at Ethan with a concerned look.

ETHAN (CONT’D)Did you find anything?

Daniel takes a seat at the table.

DANIELUnfortunately I did. You have four spirits in your home. One is an elderly lady who seems to have a fixation with your Son’s room. A younger lady who seems angry and confused. The third I believe is an old man wanting to cause harm to your family.

DANIEL When you first moved in did you notice anything strange in the basement.

DANIEL Did you recognise any of the symbols painted on the wall?

DANIELYour basement was used by a cult, Possibly satanic.

DANIELThe religious statues in each room. I was drawn heavily to them, Where did you get them?

ANNAThe basement, they was in a sealed box.

DANIELI have a feeling the cult may have conjured the spirits into those religious statues.

DANIEL I don’t know why but I feel that may have worsened the situation.

ETHANUnfortunately not Anna, As soon as you released the statues into your home you released the spirits too. Which are now attached to your family.

DANIELThe demon didn't get to Finish off what it started with the previous family, by recreating a similar haunting pattern it’s doing what it knows best which is wreaking havoc and drawing power from your emotions.

A worried Anna looks at Luke concerned.

ANNACan’t we just get you to tell the church what we are dealing with here and to sanction an exorcism?

ETHANIt doesn’t work like that Anna. We need evidence we can present to the church, that way they have no choice but to perform one.

LUKEWhat about someone from the Pittsburgh office, after all our church recommended somebody from the Pittsburgh office to bless our home.

Over in Peter and Judith’s dark living room Daniel is seated in Judith’s armchair waiting for activity to happen, he radio’s through to Ethan on his walkie-talkie.

DANIELI’ve set a motion detector down the basement, should anything move it will sound the alarm.

ETHAN (V.O.)Affirmative.

Daniel pulls out an emf metre and begins to walk around Peter and Judith’s living area, Suddenly above him he hears scuffling in the ceiling, he looks at his emf metre which begins to light up indicating activity present in the room.

DANIELEthan, come in.

ETHAN (V.O.)Go ahead.

DANIELListen to this.

Daniel holds up his walkie-talkie to the ceiling.

ETHAN (V.O.)What is it?

DANIELPossibly rodents.

Suddenly the scuffling makes it’s way over to Ethan in Anna and Luke’s living area.

ETHAN (V.O.)It’s not rodent’s, It’s them.

The scuffling moves in a frantic pace through the ceiling and down the walls, Ethan follows the noise with his eyes suddenly the alarm in the basement is heard from the motion detector, Ethan radio’s through to Daniel.

ETHANMotion detector going off in the basement.

DANIEL (V.O.)I'm on my way.

Ethan heads down into the basement with a thermal camera and begins to pan the camera round the basement, visible on the screen are three figures stood next to each other with a big tall menacing figure stood behind. Ethan drops the thermal camera down to his side and reaches into his pocket pulling out a crucifix, he holds it up staring into the direction of the figures, Daniel makes his way down the basement, he stops halfway down the steps staring over at Ethan, he drops his crucifix down to his side and looks over at Daniel.

ETHANI feel something here with me in the basement.

Daniel tries to hide his concern on his face, Pan back to Ethan to reveal the three spirits stood behind him looking at him with an angry expression unknown to Ethan.

DANIELMaybe we should get to the church first thing.

ETHAN It’s getting really powerful isn't it.

DANIELYes, I’m afraid it is.

Ethan heads towards the basement steps while Daniel looks on, Ethan looks into the direction Daniel is staring into.

ETHANWhat?

They head up the basement steps as Daniel takes one last glace at the three spirits looking on with a sinister look.

INT. CHURCH OFFICE - DAY

Anna, Luke, Ethan and Daniel wait inside the church for the arrival of Father Davis, Anna spots Father Davis walking down the pathway towards the church doors.

ANNAHere he comes.

Father Davis opens the door and spots the ghost investigator duo with Anna and Luke, he doesn't seem impressed upon his arrival.

ANNA (CONT’D)Good Morning Father.

FATHER DAVISCan I help you?

ANNAFather we need to talk to you urgently.

Father Davies stares over at Ethan and Daniel unimpressed.

FATHER DAVISAnna and Luke step into my office.

Knowing they are unwelcome, Ethan and Daniel stand and wait outside Father Davis’s office.

INT. FATHER DAVIS OFFICE - DAY

Father Davis takes a seat at his desk, Anna and Luke take a seat opposite to him.

FATHER DAVISWhat can I do for you?

ANNAWe have come to present evidence to you of our haunting.

Father Davis sighs and leans back into his chair.

FATHER DAVISThe church are still reviewing the case, in order for the church to take this case more seriously you will need to cut ties with those ghost hunters.

ANNABut father Ethan has been amazing, they understand the paranormal. We’ve been asking for help for months.

FATHER DAVISThings can’t happen over night, it has to be discussed with the chancellor and that could take months to make a decision.

Before Father Davis can reply Anna storms out the office with Luke following her, the ghost investigator duo see Anna leaving upset, annoyed by this Ethan confronts Father Davis.

ETHANFather can’t you see what this is doing to this family, they need your help, why won’t you help them?

Father Davis becomes unresponsive to Ethan’s questions, Daniel walks in.

DANIELFather we have evidence right here.

Daniel holds up a disc of evidence for Father Davis to take.

EXT. CHURCH GROUNDS - DAY

Outside Luke calms Anna down, walking out of the church Ethan and Daniel console Anna.

ETHANI'm sorry Anna.

ANNAIt’s fine, this is how the church have been since I took this to them.

Anna, Luke, Noah, Grace, Peter and Judith sit in silence nervously waiting for Father Nomed, Visible in the shot is the statue of Jesus, every tick on the clock can be heard.

Luke looks at the clock which shows it’s 5:10pm, blank faces sit and stare waiting, suddenly a knock at the door, Anna answers the door relieved Father Nomed has turned up.

Anna smiles at Father Nomed’s words.

Father Nomed heads upstairs as the family look on, he enters each room as the family hear him reciting prayers.

LIVING AREA

Anna with her hands clasped together mumbles to herself.

ANNAI hope this works.

The family look on in desperation as Father Nomed heads downstairs with a pleased look on his face.

FATHER NOMEDYour home has been exorcised, I hope it helps, I shall be off.

Suddenly there is a knock at the door, Anna answers the door to see Ethan and Daniel. She lets them in as Father Nomed exits the home closing the door behind him which causes Daniel to look behind.

ANNAFather Nomed exorcised our home.

DANIELSomething doesn’t feel right.

Upstairs a Childs laugh is heard in the distance.

GRACEWhat was that?

The Childs laugh turns into a tantrum as banging on the walls erupts throughout the house.

ETHAN Every body pray.

They all begin to recite the lords prayer at the top of their voices.

ALLOur Father who art in Heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. The noise stops and peace is restored.

Ethan breathes a sigh of relief.

Luke remains seated relaxed in front of the Television sipping on his beer, Visible in the shot is the Jesus Statue.

Anna is in the tub, she wipes a wet flannel over her arms while feeling relaxed, she lies back and closes her eyes. Unknown to Anna the bathroom door begins to close slowly before slamming shut, Anna sits up in the tub looking around to see how the door slammed. Shrugging it off she places the wet flannel over her face and lies back in the tub, she hears a creaking floorboard and takes the flannel of her face then screams with terror. Standing next to the tub looking down at her is the spirit of the old man in his long cloak and top hat, he begins to push Anna’s face under the water trying to drown her, She screams for Luke gasping for air.

LIVING AREA

Luke runs up the stairs while Noah and Grace come out of their bedrooms.

GRACEWhat’s going on Dad?

Luke tries to open the door but it’s locked.

LUKEAnna the door won’t open.

Luke hears Anna struggling and begins to kick the door trying to break it open, on his second attempt he is successful and rushes to Anna while she gasps for air coughing up water.

ANNAIts here, It tried to kill me.

Luke grabs Anna a towel and helps her out the tub.

Anna closes her eyes and begins to fall asleep, Luke rolls on his side and closes his eyes, off camera a mumbling noise can be heard, Luke opens his eyes, directly next to his bed are the 3 spirits of the old lady, old man and young female in Victorian clothing, in sync they all shake their head in disapproval with an angry expression, Luke sits up looking over at Anna who is deep sleeping, They all begin to walk out of the bedroom, Luke attempts to wake Anna up this causes the spirits to halt and turn to look at Luke, in sync they shake their heads in disapproval before disappearing out of the room. Luke sinks under his duvet spooked by what he has just seen.

Anna and Luke are seated on the couch in the living area with Noah and Grace watching television eagerly awaiting the episode of ghost investigators.

Back to the couch area Anna and Luke continue to watch the show, a loud knock on the wall is heard.

Suddenly banging begins to echo all around the home in an angry reaction, the kitchen cupboard doors begin slamming.

Anna turns the TV off by the remote control, within seconds the reaction stops.

Anna is sits at the kitchen table drinking her coffee. The telephone rings from the living area. She gets up and heads over to the phone to answer it, visible behind her is the Jesus statue.

ETHAN (V.O.)Anna, It’s Ethan.

ANNAWe didn’t get to see the whole of it, the demon reacted badly to it.

Anna puts the telephone down then heads back to the kitchen table, she takes a seat and takes the last few sips of her cup of coffee before going over to the kitchen sink, Anna begins to wash her cup, in between washing her cup something catches her eye out the window, she looks outside in shock.

ANNA (CONT’D)Luke, Come down quick.

Luke rushes downstairs.

Luke looks out the kitchen window, crowd of people have gathered outside the family home, Peter and Judith come bursting into Anna and Luke’s front door.

FATHER DAVIS (V.O.)I said from day one it would take a lot of convincing to the church, however I will personally come over today and If I find evidence of a haunting, we will move into a full exorcism.

Anna with her back to her family puts the telephone down, she tries to hold in her tears but fails, she turns around bursting with emotion and excitement.

A car pulls up outside the Thomas’s complex, amongst the crowd of people that are gathered outside the house, Father Davis steps out the car, he is immediately harassed by the crowd of people, and he escapes through the chaos and makes his way to the front door. Anna opens the door and Father Davis makes his way inside.

The family sit watching TV, Father Davis begins to walk around the home, everything seems calm and peaceful, Father Davis steps into Anna and Luke’s bedroom and takes a seat on the end of the bed reading into his bible.

Ethan makes his way downstairs, everybody waits in anticipation for the demon to react.

Suddenly there is a knocking noise and a tense feeling until they realize the knock came from the front door, Anna answers the door to find her neighbor Paula has brought a big group of people with her.

PAULAI heard the church couldn't help you, so I brought some people with me that would like to help

Paula heads inside with lots of people from the church who greet Anna on the way into the house.

The crowd begin to move in closer towards Ethan.

The crowd cheer as Ethan heads inside leaving the door open for the crowd to look on into the home, Ethan takes centre in the room while everybody gathers around him.

The crowds of people who surround the home begin to join in with everybody inside the home, in sync they recite the lords prayer, residents from Chase street begin to step out their homes looking on.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
