Themes of the Day Major aspects of Earth Sciences that are particularly relevant for society today will be highlighted during the 33rd IGC. Seven themes (titles preliminary) have been selected for particular emphasis. They are all related to the priorities of the International Years of Planet Earth. In parallel with the Congress symposia program, each day of the meeting will highlight one of these major themes. Listed below are the themes, the plenary lecturers and the preliminary titles of their lectures. The morning and afternoon programs are being arranged.
