General Information

Age Range

Kid’s camp is designed for ages 6 – 11. Kids age

5 who have completed kindergarten may be

accepted with approval of the Camp Director.

Teen Camp is designed for ages 12 – 15, who

must have experienced at least one year of

middle school. Campers 11 years of age may be

accepted if they meet the middle school

requirement and with approval of the Camp

Director.

Camp Dates

The 2017 Summer Day Camp program has 9

one-week sessions starting on Tuesday, May 30,

2017 and ending on Friday, July 28, 2017.

Registration Dates

Registration starts on Tuesday, March 7, 2017

from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. You may register in

person or on-line. Registration continues each

day thereafter until camp is full.

Camp Hours

Camp starts at 9:00am and runs until 4:00pm.

Parents can drop off their campers between

7:30am - 9:00am; and pick-up their campers

between 4:00pm - 5:30pm. Drop-off and pick-

up times are included in the cost of camp.

Dress Code / Attire

We strongly encourage campers to wear

athletic shoes and comfortable clothing. Most

of our activities and events include physical

activity.

Drop-Off / Pick-up

All Campers who are dropped-off OR picked-up

must be escorted by a parent or guardian for

signing in/out procedures. Signing- out requires

a form of ID. No exceptions, this is a safety

precaution!!

Extended Camp Hours

Late pick-up (after 5:30pm) is not offered. In the

case of excessive late pick-ups you may be

asked to withdraw your camper(s) from camp.

Fees

Summer Camps registration fee is one hundred

dollars per week ($100) for each camper.

However, if you are registering multiple

campers (siblings) it’s half off or fifty dollars

($50) per week for each additional camper. You

must register in person to receive the discount

or you may be refunded should you choose to

register on-line and make payment in-full (on-

line registration does not offer the multiple

registration discount). All Payments are due

upon registration, No Exceptions.

Field Trips & Special Event Fridays

Field trips are an additional weekly costs and

the Parents or Guardians responsibility to pay

for their Camper(s) trip(s). These fees must be

paid in cash weekly upon signing-in, and are

paid directly to the vendors. Information about

our Fun Friday Events and Field trips will be sent

home in the weekly newsletter each week.

Please note that Fieldtrips are subject to

change with little or no prior notice.

Lunch & Snacks

Parents must provide lunch and snacks daily.

Please pack a hefty lunch and two snacks due to

increased activity at camp. We have vending

machines on site for campers to use as well.

Staff

Camp is supervised by the Camp Directors and

Counselors. Everyone is first-aid and CPR

certified. The Counselor-to-Camper ratio is 1:10,

not to exceed 1:12.

Valuables

We recommend all valuables be left at home

including, but not limited to: cell phones, hand-

held video game devices, MP3 players, cameras,

trading cards and silly bands. We will not be

held responsible for lost or stolen items.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does the Summer Camp have Pre and Post Care? A: Yes, Constructive play time starts at 9am and ends at 4pm. Pre-Camp is from 7:30am - 9:00am; Post-Camp is from 4:00pm - 5:30pm. Q: What should you do upon arrival to camp? A: Make sure that you sign your camper in daily. Their names will be listed on a roster in alphabetical order at the front desk. Q: What should you do if your campers name is not on the sign-in roster? A: Please speak with a staff member to make sure your camper is properly registered. Q: What is the camp registration fee? A: The registration fee is $100 dollars for the first camper and $50 for additional campers registered under the same family account. Q: What should I do if I’m running late and can’t pick my camper up before 5:30pm? A: Call (770) 509 – 2737 ahead of time to notify staff so that accommodations can be made. Q: Will camp registration fees be prorated if I register my camper after the program has started? A: Yes, but no fees will be prorated after registration is completed (i.e. – You registered successfully for the full five days and your camper missed three of those days. No fees will be prorated)

2017 Summer Camp Themes

WK1 (MAY 29 – JUNE 2) “Welcome Back” – A great time to connect with old friends and create new ones. Campers will create summer camp memorabilia; enjoy s’mores and ice cream, bouncy houses, water inflatables and games.

WK 2 (JUNE 5 – 9) “Sports Extravaganza” – Campers will be introduced to an assortment of team building games and sports.

WK 3 (JUNE 12 – 16) “Fiesta” – During this elaborate party week campers will break piñatas, make tie-dye tees and play fiesta games.

Kids Camp Teen Camp Barcode: 11812 11820 Fieldtrips: World of Coca Cola (Both Groups)

WK 4 (JUNE 19 – 23) “Survivor Week” – During this week of fun campers will compete as teams to see who will be declared “The SURVIVORS”. Each team will create flags and compete in different challenges through the week to earn points. The team with the most point at the end wins.

WK 5 (JUNE 26 – 30) “Halloween” – A week of Costumes, parades and sweet treats for campers; Campers will design a mini Jack O Lantern, have a Halloween Costume Party and Haunted House Entertainment. The group with the most participation wins a pizza party on Friday of this week.

WK 6 (JULY 3 – 7) “Kick Back” – This week campers are kicking back with a friend commerating independence day.

WK 7 (JULY 10 – 14) “Hip Hop Dayz” – Campers will have an opportunity to show case their artistic skills; Whether it is performing a song from their favorite artist; acting out a scene from their favorite movie or book; or quoting lines from their favorite poet (within appropriateness).

WK 8 (JULY 17 – 21) “Hawaiian Hullabaloo” – This week campers will hold a Luau. They will make fruit kabobs, play beach volleyball, toss water balloons, fly kites and more in the land of the sun…… enjoying the outdoors.

Hold Harmless Agreement

Realizing the nature of this program, its physical demands and how important it is to follow rules,

regulations and instructions outlined by the P.A.R.K.S. Department (Parks, Arts, Recreation, Keep Cobb

Beautiful & Solid Waste) participant is , to the best of my knowledge, in good health and able to

participate in the program. I authorize the staff of the P.A.R.K.S to organize any required medical or first

aid procedure to include but not limited to CPR, or to take the undersigned to a hospital emergency room

for treatment. If any major treatment is required, I understand that every effort will be made to notify the

individual indicated as emergency contact beforehand by telephone. The undersigned hereby forever

releases, discharges and covenants to hold harmless the P.A.R.K.S, The Cobb County Recreation Board,

The Cobb County Board of Commissioners and Cobb County, Georgia and any person, firm or corporation

charged or chargeable with responsibility of liability, their heirs, administrators, executors, successors and

assignees from any and all claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, loss of services, actions and causes

of action belonging to the undersigned or arising out of any act or occurrence in connection with and

particularly in account of all personal injury disability, property damage, loss or damages of any kind

sustained or that my hereafter be sustained arising out of matters described herein or in consequences of

the participation in the recreation program sponsored by the P.A.R.K.S.; The undersigned hereby bind their

heirs, administrators, executors and successors. Further, the agreement shall apply to all unknown and

unanticipated injuries and damages, directly or indirectly resulting here from. This release and hold

harmless agreement shall constitute a full and complete release of any and all claims.

Photo Release

I also understand that my child may be photographed for the purpose of publication. The Marietta Daily

Journal, AJC, Direction Cobb, or our Parks publication – The Front Row, or other local publications at

times may publish pictures of your child in the program at The Cobb County Recreation Centers.

Field Trip / Pool Time

I also authorize Cobb County P.A.R.K.S and The Cobb County Board of Education employees to transport

said child on field trips in a county vehicle. I realize that we will go on field trips such as the movies, water

parks, county swimming pool, museums and other locations that will be pre-disclosed before departure.

Right to Dismiss

We at P.A.R.K.S. Department reserves the right to dismiss a child from camp due to certain inappropriate

behaviors such as bringing weapons to camp, harming a staff member or child, vandalizing property

including vehicles or equipment, stealing, excessive discipline problems, and other severe behaviors.
