WELCOME ADDRESS

Dear friends and colleagues,

On behalf of the MPA EXCO, I am pleased to announce that the 35th

Annual MPA Congress will be held from 27th to 30th June 2013. After a

lapse of 12 years, we are going back to Pahang and the venue that we

have chosen is Bukit Gambang Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and

Exhibitions Centre (M.I.C.E.) Kuantan, Pahang. The theme for this year’s

congress is ‘Emergency Paediatrics - Towards Excellent Care’. An array for

very interesting scientific programmes have been drawn up to appease

even the most discerning of you. There is something for everybody with

4 pre-congress workshops, 5 plenary sessions and 15 symposia. But alas,

MPA Congress is not all about the scientific programmes and updating

yourselves with the latest in paediatrics. This is a good opportunity for

us to catch up with ‘old’ friends and making new ones and improving

networking among all members - including from government and

private institutions and the universities. With that in mind, we have

arranged awesome social events waiting for you - from games, safari,

water-park to themed dinners. So mark the dates and bring your family

along and we promise that you will have a truly enriching experience.

We have planned games reminiscent of the old days…. volleyball for the

guys and netball for the ladies, amongst others…. so please bring along

your sporting attire, and not forgetting the analgesics that you might

need once the games are over. Hopefully we can have the ‘veterans’

against the ‘young upstarts’ and I am counting on Prof Fatimah Harun &

Datuk Kuan GL to again lead the ‘veterans’. As for the guys, well hopefully

Datuk Sham Kassim & Datuk Zulkifli Ismail will lead the veterans out….

So hurry up and send in your registration forms. See all of you in Bukit

Gambang.... be there...
