El modelo clásico se basa en un proceso de tres partes conocido como el Trivium:

• Primaria: Los estudiantes absorben datos, aprenden a explorar historia, ciencias, y literatura.

• Intermedia: Los estudiantes aprenden a pensar argumentativamente y estudian lógica en textos, discursos, y experiencias.

• Secundaria: Los estudiantes aprenden a expresarse y comunicarse efectivamente en escritura, lógica, artes, matemáticas, ciencias, y oralmente.

La Educación Católica en Artes Liberales Clásicas forma a los jóvenes académicamente e incorpora la formación emocional y espiritual, lo que resulta en la educación de la persona integral.

TRIVIUM: PROCESO DE EDUCACIÓN

1. Estudiantes con problemas de aprendizaje pueden sumergirse en una materia hasta donde sus habilidades lo permitan sin sentirse agobiados.

As Koinonia Academy has evaluated its academic approach over the last two years, it’s become clear that transitioning the school’s curriculum to a Catholic Classical Liberal Arts model our mission.

The focus of the school has not changed: Koinonia will always remain a Christ-centered school which teaches the Catholic faith and helps develop the whole person, challenging each student to reach his or her full, God-given potential.What Koinonia is doing is implementing a beautiful, rigorous academic program which will help our students achieve high academic standards with a Classical Liberal Arts education.

The focus of a classical education is on the good, the true and the beautiful. Students are taught to think for themselves, to develop a passion for learning and exploring, and to seek the truth, the goodness and the beautiful in all their subjects.

THE TRIVIUMThe classical model is founded on a three-part process of training, known as the Trivium:

• Grammar School: Students absorb facts, learn to explore history, science and literature.

• Middle School: Students learn to think through arguments and begin to study logic as they read, hear and experience more challenging materials.

• High School: Students learn to express themselves and communicate effectively in writing, in logic, in the arts, in mathematics and science as well as in speech.

A Catholic Classical Liberal Arts education goes one step further, and ensures that not only are students being formed academically, they are also being formed emotionally and spiritually, meaning that the whole person is being educated.

PROCESS

1. Special needs students can be immersed in a subject and be challenged while not being overwhelmed with materials they struggle to follow.

2. Advanced students can go much further into a subject than they otherwise could in a traditional school setting where they are limited by time and a narrow curricula.

3. KA will be able to guide students in developing a love for learning, personal self-discipline, high moral standards and an appreciation and love for the good, the true and the beautiful in a welcoming, safe and supportive environment.
