School Accountability Rating

Schoolaccountabilityratingsarebasedonthepercentofstudentspassingthe TAKS, high school completion rate, the annual dropout rate andtwo new indicators: Commended Performance and English LanguageLearnersProgress Indicator. Standards forall five indicatorsmustbemetforallstudentsaswellasforstudentgroups(AfricanAmerican,Hispanic,White, and Economically Disadvantaged). Note that for this year, newfederal definitions are used for race and ethnicity.Most indicators thatshowperformancefor2009-10andearliershowraceandethnicityusingtheformerdefinitions.

Gold Performance Acknowledgment (GPA): Schools may also qualifyfor GPAs for high performance on Advanced Course/Dual Enrollment,Attendance,AP/IB,College-ReadyGraduates,CommendedPerformanceon TAKS, Comparable Improvement, SAT/ACT, Recommended HighSchoolProgram,orTexasSuccessInitiative.

TAKS Met 2011 Standard: TheTAKS (TexasAssessmentofKnowledgeandSkills) is a comprehensive testing program for public school students ingrades 3 through 11. TAKSmeasures the extent towhich a student haslearned, understood, and is able toapply the important concepts andskillsexpectedateachtestedgradelevel.StudentsareassessedinEnglishlanguagearts(ELA)(grades10&11),reading(grades3-9),mathematics(grades 3-11), writing (grades 4 & 7), science (grades 5, 8, 10 & 11),and social studies (grades 8, 10 & 11). Results shown include only theperformanceofthosestudentswhowereenrolledatthecampusbythelast Friday inOctober. Results are summedacross grades for all gradestested at the school. Results for TAKS (Accommodated), TAKS-Modified,andTAKS-Alternateareincludedforallgradesandsubjects.

Instructional Expenditure Ratio: Tasa de Gastos de Instrucción.- Esta medidamuestraelporcentajedeltotalactualdelosgastosdeldistritoparaelañofiscal2009-10 que fueron utilizados para pagar actividades de instrucción directa(directinstructionalactivities).

Expenditures per Student: Gastos por Estudiante.-Estamedidamuestralosgastosactualesduranteelañoescolar2009-10paravariosgruposdefuncionesdivididaporelnúmerodeestudiantesen2009-10.Noteque losgastos reportadosnosonlacantidadquesegastóenactualidadparacadaestudiante,peroesunpromediodeltotal(per-pupilaverageofthetotal).Estosgastosporestudianteson reportados por gastos totales en cada unade las seis agrupaciones decategoríasdeoperaciones.
