The sheer magnitude of the project will attract residents, retailers, shoppers and visitors from a local geographic ring which includes Shelby, Tipton and Fayette Counties in Tennessee, expanding out into a larger geographic ring including DeSoto, Tate, Tunica, Marshall and Benton in Mississippi and Crittenden in Arkansas.

ABOUT MEMPHIS
Memphis, Tennessee is in the southwest corner of the state, bordered by Arkansas and Mississippi. The MSA of Memphis consists of nine counties – Shelby, Tipton, Fayette in Tennessee, DeSoto, Tate, Tunica, Marshall and Benton in Mississippi and Crittenden in Arkansas – and a population of 1,330,677.
Memphis thrives on economic diversity and its population is fueling the drive into the 21st century. Three Fortune 500 companies call Memphis home (FedEx, International Paper and AutoZone). Memphis is known worldwide as “America’s Aerotroplis”. The Memphis airport is the second busiest cargo airport in the world (Hong Kong is number one.) It is the single largest economic drive in the state of Tennessee with an economic impact of $23.3 billion annually. The medical community is also a big drive for our economy. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The University of Tennessee Medical School and “The Med” are all based in Memphis as well.
Memphis has four regional retail trade areas –Oak Court/East Memphis, Wolfchase, Southaven (MS) and SE Memphis/Collierville. Retail activity in Memphis is flourishing. The total trade area consists of approximately 41.4 million square feet and the occupancy level is estimated to be 89%. The Wolfchase and Southaven trade area continue to be a major growth area both in residential and commercial growth. Memphis is home to one of the first lifestyle centers ever built in the US. Saddle Creek was built in Germantown in 1986 and is home to Apple, Anthropologie, Brooks Brothers and other high end retailers.
The Memphis area offers tourists history, music and plenty of outdoor activities. Beale Street, Graceland, National Civil Rights Museum, Pink Palace Museum, Mud Island Park, AutoZone Park, Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum, Memphis Zoo, Stax Museum, Sun Studios, and the FedEx Forum all call Memphis home and attract more than 10 million visitors each year. An estimated $3.1 billion is spent by visitors each year.
