ODENSE ROBOTICSOdense is home to one of the world’s top ten robotic environments and is
increasingly recognized as a leading robot city and one of the best places in Europe
to start a robot company.
• 120 companies in the robotics cluster in the Odense area.
• Companies in the Odense area employed 3,200 people (2017) – expected to grow to 4,300 at the end of 2019.
• Manufacturing is by far the largest single target industry for robot and automation companies in the cluster.
• Around 53% of companies collaborate with research and education institutions. The cluster is home to more than 10 research, development and innovation institutions and more than 40 robot-related education programmes.
• Odense Robotics Startup Hub creates 5 new robotic companies each year
ODENSE IS PRIME LOCATION: Around 65% of companies cite their location in the Odense area as a competitive advantage.

Five faculties with more than 27,000 students, almost 20% of whom are from abroad, and more
than 4,000 employees distributed across the main campus in Odense and regional campuses in
Slagelse, Kolding, Esbjerg and Sønderborg. Several international studies document that the
university conduct world-class research and are one of the top fifty young universities in the world.
Higher education programmes – professional bachelors degrees – where the
graduates contribute to the continual development of the welfare society. Social educators,
teachers, nurses, radiographers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, biomedical
laboratory scientists, public administrators and social workers are trained here. Approximately 7,000 students and 700 employees in the Southern Region of Denmark
The largest business academy in the Region of Southern Denmark and offers 30 higher
educational programmes aimed at employment in the world of business. The academy has
3,300 students, 300 employees, and collaborates with around 3,000 companies.Currently,
Lillebaelt Academy can offer 18 2-2½-year academy programmes, 11 3½-4-year bachelor programmes and 13 AP and diploma degree programmes.
