“All good things must come to an end” Human nature wants good things to continue ad infiniti and wants bad things to end quickly. Good things do end as surely as taxes and you know….

It has been a hectic two years for me and Cora. The main effort the two of us concentrated on was the medical mission to Puerto Princesa in Cora’s home province of Palawan. And for those who went, I gathered that the amenities of the province made the sacrifices in money, time and effort by the medical mission volunteers worth their while, in addition to the uplifting feeling of having served humanity unselfishly. As with any campaign as big as a medical mission is, its accomplishments were not Cora and mine alone. It was a team effort with the team leaders of Romy Parungao, Willie Magat, Livia and Halbert Capuy, Marilyn and Paul Beltran, Grace Bautista, Mike Tan, the licensing work of Abe Magat, gathering of materials by many volunteers, the shipping work of Marilyn Beltran, the numerous donors such as Janice and David Petsch of Petsch Respiratory and Smile Train Foundation, the sacrifices made by the volunteers of their time, money and efforts and finally the coordination of the various facets of the medical mission by Cora, all contributed to its success.

As to second main objective, that of increasing the membership of PAMAG turned out to be a work in progress, not given to being completed during my two year term. We do have new members added to the roster. I will continue to work with the new officers to increase the membership.

It is with great honor and privilege I welcome all of you, my family, longtime colleagues, friends to the 37th annual conference and dinner dance held here at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge, lake Oconee, Georgia. 26 years ago, I was introduced as the 4th President of pamag, that was 1982-1984. Tonight I will be inducted as the president again of pamag for the 2012-2014. As luck will have it I will be the 19th president of pamag.

Hopefully I will be up to the task you have entrusted to me with help from all of you. As president, this office is a symbol of the leadership given to me, steeped with all the hope and success that embodied the previous leaders of this group. I commend President Lemuel Villanueva, Dr. Grace Bautista, Dr, Paul Beltran, Drs. Halbert and Livia Capuy for the accomplishments of the scholarship committee, the acclaimed CME seminars.

I pledge to continue the same goals with as much fervor and spirit that I can muster. But my friends I believe that our measure of success should be the footprints we leave behind each step that we have taken. The happy, grateful faces you see every time you leave a mission, the exciting letters from these scholars, the satisfied spirits after CME’s are invaluable memories we all treasure for a long, long time.

This is why I believe that pamag should go on for many, many more another 37 years, accomplishing these good works. We should be united working as one, a team forever. God bless the pamag, all the people who make it possible, Good night and thank you. God Bless you all.

Greetings to PAMAG Members and Supporters.

It has been a rewarding ten years since the inception of our PAMAG Need Based Scholarship Program. Currently, we have produced fifteen successful graduates from different academic discipline ranging from IT’s, Mechanics, Teachers and Accountant (CPA) and our latest graduate is a board topnotcher in Electrical Engineering. They are all wage earners now and supporting their family. Presently we have eight scholars taking up Teaching, Accountancy and Social Work majors.

We are blessed to have partnered with our good friends from Augusta, Mr. David and Mrs. Janice Petsch of Petsch Respiratory who sponsored four of these scholars for the past three years. I also would like to thank a recent anonymous PAMAG supporter who from the goodness of her heart donated three hundred dollars ($300.00) to the fund.

Lastly, I sincerely appreciate your unwavering support in making this as one of our successful projects and with God’s blessing we’ll continue to make a difference in the lives of Filipino youth.
