Login/Register

This the starting page for building your

custom 3M hard hat.

Note: You can experiment with design

options without logging in or registering

However, you will need to log in to:

• Save logos

• Save projects

• Share projects

• Review saved projects

• Submit projects for 3M review and approval

If you do not have a login, it is fast and easyto register! (Just click on the link at the top right of your screen….)

Design your hat

This is the heart of the 3M Hard

Hat Customizer website. The

basic hat choices you made on

the first screen are shown here,

with some additional tasks and

options.

VERY IMPORTANT –

Before you begin your layout:

1. Next to Unnamed Project,

click on Change Name and

name your project

2. Click on SAVE PROJECT

(remember, you can change

your options at any time)

Design your hat

• You can choose from four views

of the hard hat: front, left side,

right side, and back

• You will be able to add logos,

Scotchlite™ reflective material

and text to your layout

Once you are logged in, you can

choose from a number of “shared”

stock logos or upload your own.

• Click on the Shared Logos tab to

browse through the stock logos

available to you

• Click on a logo to add it to the

side that is currently displayed

• When you add or change a logo,

the images will update to show

you what your hat will look like

• Enter the number of colors

• In the Notes field, enter the

PMS colors for each (if known)

• Click SAVE SIDE

• Click SAVE PROJECT

Note: Only one logo per side

• To add your own logo, click

on the My Logos tab

• Uploaded logos are saved

in this area to make them

available for your future

designs

• Click UPLOAD LOGO

• Be sure to read the

Agreement that pops up and

click ACCEPT if you agree to

the terms

• Click BROWSE in the

window that follows and

navigate to your logo

• Click LOAD LOGO

• Your logo will appear in the

My Logos tab

• Choose the hat side you wish

to add it to, and click on the

logo to add it to your hat

Please note:

• Click on Help with Artwork

for important information

about logo specifications and

requirements

• For example:

• Minimum order for more

than 4 colors

• Pantone (PMS) colors

• Backgrounds

• Logo sizing limits

Usage rights

• You will be asked to confirm

that you have the right to use

the logos you upload

• 3M reserves the right to

refuse artwork or logos

that are inappropriate or

protected by copyright

Option: Add text

You can also enter your own

custom text.

• Click on the Text button

• Type the word or words

• Choose the text color and font

• Click APPLY/UPDATE TEXT

• Click SAVE SIDE

• Click SAVE PROJECT

Note: You cannot mix logos and text

on the same side of the hard hat.

Estimated Price & Submit for 3M Approval

Based on your configuration and quantity,

a 3M suggested list price appears on

screen as you go.

To get a correct estimated price:

• Verify your desired Quantity, Style

and Options

• Click on each side and verify number

of logo colors

• Your running estimated price

appears here

• If it all looks correct, click

SUBMIT FOR 3M APPROVAL

Note: Estimated Price is shown for your

convenience, but remember to check actual

pricing from your 3M distributor.

Finalize your hat

After you’ve applied logos or

text to your hard hat, you must:

• Check each element carefully

• If you need to change

something, click on Click here

to return to the design options

• Check Confirmed for each side

• Click SUBMIT FOR REVIEW

Submit for review and approval

Submitting for review allows 3M to:

• Create website and print-ready

artwork for our screen printing

process

• Identify any problems with

the logo design

Note: Submit for review only if you

have placed or intend to place an

order using this design

Email: Confirmation – Submitted for 3M artwork review

You will receive an email

letting you know that your

artwork has been received

by the 3M Hard Hat (HH)

Customizer Team.

Artwork Review Complete-Email: Customer Final Approval

Once Artwork review is

complete. You will receive an

email asking you to confirm your

final design.

• You will need to login to

review and approve your

project

• Your PMS colors will be

identified

• If there are any discrepancies,

(for example, you specified

3 colors, when your design

requires 4 colors), the 3M HH

Customizer Team will note

them

• Log into your account

• If all is well, click

SUBMIT TO 3M

Note: All email correspondence

is logged in the 3M HH

customizer website for your

ongoing reference.

Once you approve your final

design it’s time to place your

order!

• You must reference your

Proof ID number on all

orders and correspondence

• Your Proof ID is located in

your email and on your

project web page

• All orders must be placed

with a 3M Hard Hat

distributor

How to order your project

All orders must be placed through

a 3M Hard Hat distributor.

• You can link to a list of

distributors via email or from the

website

• You must reference your Proof

ID number on all orders and

correspondence

• Future Orders: If you want to

reorder simply contact your 3M

Hard Hat Distributor or Sales

• If you want to modify a

previous project/order see

If you want added input or

to discuss any aspect of your

3M hard hat project, you can

Share this Project – with, for

example, a colleague,

purchasing agent or 3M

distributor – by simply

clicking Share this Project.

• If you want to modify a previous

project, click on My Projects

and click Copy this Project to

create a New Project for you to

make modifications and submit

for 3M review

• If you need a different Hard

Hat color, accessories or logo

updates, you will need to submit

a new project every time any

kind of modification is needed
