Introduction3M™ Adhesive and tape solutions allow the assembly of metals, alloys and plastics together with a high level of performance and durability. These solutions can be used as a substitute for many traditional methods such as mechanical fastening or welding and help in reducing weight of the overall assembly. They simplify application methodology, reduce or eliminate finishing operations, reduce corrosion issues and provide greater flexibility in improving manufacturing process.

3M™ has a wide range of adhesives offering very high mechanical performance used to perform structural assemblies which can withstand high mechanical stress (up to 400Kg/cm ²) and resist exposure to chemicals for long periods. 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Adhesives allow easy assembly of metals, plastics, and glass on themselves or on other substrates.

3M™ Polyurethanes & Hybrid sealants are used for sealing, metal assemblies and joints, reducing vibration and material fatigue. Their high flexibility and gap filling ability allow them to reinforce mechanical fastening operations. Being Isocyanates free, Hybrid Sealants are also environmentally friendly.

3M™ Extreme Sealing Tape bonds immediately for a clean and fast solution to sealing metal products, protecting them from water ingress and other exposure. For an efficient and cost-effective method of sealing, tape is a strong choice.

Stiffeners are applied to panels to increase rigidity or minimize panel deflection, typically by spot welding, mechanical fasteners or liquid adhesives. Stiffeners are used in many markets including transportation, metalworking and construction. 3M™ Tapes offer a fast, strong, and convenient method of bonding that keeps surfaces looking clean and removes the need for rivets or welding. 3M™ VHB™ tape can be used to bond metal stiffeners, as well as bonding panel to frame while reducing the risk of corrosion.

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ water based insulation adhesive offers an easy and economical way to insulate for HVAC duct solutions. A fast acting pressure sensitive adhesive means that tape can be quickly applied, speeding up assembly time while still remaining effective after long periods.

3M™ Tape and adhesive is a great choice for removing mechanical fasteners and rivets from products, keeping products quieter from noise and vibration, while simultaneously providing a clean aesthetic finish.
