News & Notes from Pastor Tim

Dear Friends,

November Sermon Series: Step Up for God! Allleluia! is about 22 years old now. For two decades, members have led with offerings, sharing their talents, and volunteering their time to grow this family of faith. Some of those leaders have moved away after the nest emptied; some have been transferred for work; and some have moved away from our family of faith. It’s time to pause and give thanks for each of these wonderful people who have carried Alleluia! to where we are today. It’s also time to pause and ask the question, who will “step up for God” and be the new wave of leaders at Alleluia!? Who will step up for God and volunteer where volunteers are needed? Who will step up for God and share their talents in our various ministry areas where these talents are needed? Who will step up for God and become new financial giving leaders at Alleluia! and unburden the few households who give so much to fund our mission? It’s time, Alleluia! – who will step up? Here is the schedule for this series: November 5 & 6 – Financial Planning for God – 2 Corinthians 9:6-15 November 12 & 13 – Time-Management for God – James 2:14-17 November 19 & 20 – Talent-Management for God – Romans 12:3-8 - Commitment Weekend

Watch Your Snail-Mail for This Year’s “Giving Guide” Mailer In the first part of November, you will receive this year’s 2017 Giving Guide Mailer. It contains: -A Cover Letter -2017 Giving Guide -2017 Commitment Card – to be brought to worship Nov. 19 & 20 (or before) Please, please, please take the time to read through the materials, and walk through the exercises offered in the Giving Guide. Thank you for your continued generous and cheerful giving to Alleluia!

The Season of Advent starts in November?!?! Yes, the Season of Advent begins the weekend of November 26th & 27th at weekend worship. We will light the first candle on the Advent Wreath, and being a four-week Advent Series called, “The Carols of Christmas.” Come and sing a great old carol each week, and see how this carol connects with each weekend’s Scripture Reading. I’m excited for the series, and for the Season of Advent at Alleluia!

In Christ, Pastor Tim

We rejoice with our 57 youth who

affirmed their faith on Reformation Sunday

through the Rite of Confirmation.

A BIG heartfelt thank you to all who donated food, volunteered, and attended Ladies’ Night Out 2016!

Your support helped us to make this fundraiser a successful and fun event for the women of

Alleluia! and the surrounding community.

Join us as international Christian speaker Sue Heimer helps us: Learn to “Let Go” of negative baggage—petty fears, false guilt, and layers of offenses and hurt.

Grow in Confidence as we explore confidence “stealers”.

Examine our relationships and discover how to establish boundaries with “toxic” people.

Discover we are “not alone” in our Christian journey.

Determine to live up to our full potential in what God is doing “in” and “through” us.

Friday, January 27th is optional for those who wish to extend their weekend! Laura Bowler will be making reservations at a nice restaurant for whoever is interested. Payment for this is on your own. Email Laura with questions or to express interest, [email protected].

Saturday January 28th is the main teaching time for the speaker. Lunch and dinner are also provided, along with optional contemplative time with Pastor Tammy and DJ and dancing. We hope that you will spend the night at the hotel for the optimal experience, which includes worship and additional speaker time on Sunday. The Hilton is also giving us an incentive to spend the night: one entry per night per room into a drawing for an overnight package!

Sunday, January 29th is breakfast, followed by the speaker’s big finale, as well as worship time with Pastor Tammy. We will meet in the morning, and you should be home by noon!
