3RD SUNDAY OF EASTER
APRIL 30, 2017
To inspire hearts, enkindle faith, and build communion
ALLSAINTSPARISH Today’s Gospel is a familiar story. Why did these men not
immediately recognize Jesus? With all the busyness of modern
life, do we sometimes miss opportunities to recognize Christ in our
midst? “Stewardship always starts with a personal experience of
the Risen Christ in our midst and in our hearts” (Bishop Sylvester D.
Ryan). Let us pray this Easter season, and all year, that we may
be good stewards of each 24-hour day and take some time to
quiet ourselves every day so that we may be attentive to the
voice of God in our lives. Moreover, giving the Holy Spirit
permission to guide all of our decision-making processes and
thoughts will aid us in drawing even closer to the risen Christ, and
in doing so we become even better disciples and stewards of
the mysteries of God.

RACHEL’S VINEYARD RETREAT For
most post-abortive women, the
forgiveness of God is a concept
which they can mouth, yet difficult
for them to digest. How can they
feel forgiven when every instinct in
their nature says they cannot be
forgiven, even should not be
forgiven? God can forgive any sin,
even abortion. Come experience
God’s merciful forgiveness on a
Rachel’s Vineyard™ Retreat. Next
Retreat is May 2017. For confidential
info and to register call 604.525.0999.

PROJECT ADVANCE 2017 “Live gratefully, give generously.”
Fr Lucio and I have a comfortable rectory thanks to your generous support of PROJECT ADVANCE 2016. If you have never seen the inside of the rectory please feel free to drop in sometime and have a look. Of our registered parishioners 37% donated to Project Advance last year and in 2017 I am hoping we can raise that to 50%. Even a small donation will help us reach our goal.
What are the parish projects for this year? Church renovation and hiring a youth minister. Our church needs a facelift. The confessional lacks privacy, the crying room is cluttered, the sacristy is crowded and the foyer could be more inviting. At the same time, youth ministry needs to be expanded. Fr. Lucio has worked hard to establish a parish youth group but for it to grow a young lay worker is needed.
All Saints is a wonderful parish. Together we can do great things.
Please donate to PROJECT ADVANCE 2017.
