AsystemicproblemWhenlubricationisdoneinconsistentlyordoneincorrectly,itnegativelyimpactsmachineconditionandreliabilityplantwide.Majorstudiesandindependentsourcesprovethis.TheSocietyofTribologists andLubricationEngineersreportmorethan50%ofallbearingsfailuresareduetolubricationpracticesthatdon’tmeasureup. Inaddition,KennethBannisterstates60%ofallmechanicalfailuresstemfrominadequateorimproperlubrication.Thebillforwearandtearandtheresultinglossofproductionis$240billionannually– andthat’sjustintheU.S.
