Achievement Award Application
Process of 4-H Record Books• Fall & Winter Months – Take a look at your new
achievement pin applications and record sheets.– This way know what requirements there are and you
can plan what you need to participate in this 4-H year.• Record Books, Achievement Pin Applications are
due September 23 (Friday after KSF) in the Extension Office.
Tips to Make Easier
• Start at beginning of projects• Do a little at a time• Take pictures throughout the year.• Write down things when happen
– Calendar– Notepad– Computer File
Tips
• Set goals for project at the beginning of the project.
• Mount pictures on heavy stock paper.• Signatures on records.• 4-H’ers complete records themselves• Do not include: ribbons, project materials,
newspaper clippings.

• New 4-H Permanent Record (2009)• Four Sections:

• Not everything is “cut & dry.”• Not necessarily a right or wrong answer on
some things.• Permanent Record is used to complete
parts of the KAP (Kansas 4-H Award Portfolio).
