Dear Collegue,

it’s my great pleasure to invite you to partecipate in theproceedings of 4th Italian Conference on Thoracic

Oncology (CIOT) that, in its biennal recurrence, willtake place in Rome from June 26th to June 28th 2014and that I’ve the responsibility to chair.

I would like to call your attention to at least threeinteresting aspects of Rome’s Conference that make theappointment very peculiar and that I identify in itsInternational form, in the location and in its goals.

International form

The 60% of Faculty is composed of foreignspeakers, everybody playing an active part in clinicalresearch in Thoracic Oncology and KOL in theirrespective countries. We expect a significant foreigndelegation. The Conference is glad at ESMO label andfor this reason the official language of the Conferencewill be English.

Location

Located in a wonderful position, in the heart ofthe Eternal City, the Conference Center Roma Eventi-Piazza di Spagna offers to the city a meeting point ofextraordinary importance. Its natural elegance andflexibility make it the ideal location for congresses, meetings and events of any kind. The location is fantastic, in the heart of history andRoman fashion nearby Piazza di Spagna, via Condottiand via del Babuino. But not only: via Margutta is thestreet of the artists. It is an ancient street: it is the center

of the artistic life of Rome from 1600 and here livedfamous painters like Guido Reni, Carracci, SalvatorRosa. Via Margutta was also the location of the famousmovie “Roman Holidays”.

Goals

Setted immediately after ASCO, the Conferencewill give an update on the data coming from ClinicalResearch in Thoracic Oncology directly from the voiceof its Authors more representative in an appointmentthat by alternation with the World Congress of IASLC,we would like to be lasting inside of the internationalcongressional track.

For these reasons I’m trusting that you should appreciatethe effort of the organizing secretariat to realize thisscientific meeting doing credit to us with your attendancein Rome.

Arrivederci

President of 4th CIOTFilippo de Marinis

WELCOME FROM THE PRESIDENT
