1. Your Tread Is Dead

2. You Spot Dry Rot Dry Rot Problems

• Happens earlier than usual if you don’t mow very often

• Dry rot makes tires unreliable

• Could lead to Blow Out

• Serious safety issue, especially for riding lawn mowers

• You never know when a dry rot tire will fall apart

Solution

• Check regularly for dry rot, even if you use a push mower

• Look for cracks forming in the rubber

• Replace tire when you see the cracks

3. You Notice That the Lawn Mower WobblesProblems

• Your lawn mower wobbles significantly

• Manufacturers design lawn mowers to wobble a little

• Rule out Other Problems

• Check the axle nut—if it needs adjusting/tightening, your tires are not the problem

• Check Tires for Deformation

• If the axle is fine, check to see if the tires are uneven in any way

4. You Lose Air Pressure Quickly

Problems

• Filling a tire with air frequently = Tire has a Hole

• You’re probably spending a lot of time filing it over and over

• You shouldn’t have to put air in lawn mower the tires very often

• Some air will lead during normal use, but many people find that they don’t even need to refill tires every year
