BARI BRAHMANA: Police on Tuesday arrested four gam-blers and recovered Rs 3,725 stake money from the gamblingspot.
As per the details, acting on a tip off, a special team fromPolice Station Bari Brahmana headed by Inspr RavinderSingh Rakwal, SHO Bari Brahmana and under the directsupervision of Sunil Kesar, SDPO Bari Brahmana raided thegambling spot at Ward No. 4 Bari Brahmana and arrestedfour gamblers along with stake money of Rs. 3,725 and play-ing cards from the spot. The gamblers were identified as NituKumar son of Babu Ram resident of Palli, Mukesh Singh sonof Mohan Singh resident of Bihar at present Bari Brahmana,Rajesh Kumar son of Chand Ram resident of Bari Brahmanaand Satpal son of Parkash Chand resident of Dhiansar.Taking cognisance into the matter, all the gamblers werebooked under section 13 of Gambling Act at Police StationBari Brahmana.

POONCH: Police on Tuesday nabbed an ATM fraudsterwithin 12 hours of receiving of complaint with regard tofraudulent withdrawal of money from an account.
As per the details, one Mohd Aslam son of Salam Din resi-dent of Mamankote Tehsil Chasana (Mahore) lodged a writ-ten complaint in Police Station Poonch that while withdraw-ing money at SBI ATM located in Poonch, an unknown per-son came there and he managed to exchange his ATM andlater withdrew Rs 38,000 from the account.
Taking cognisance of the matter, police registered a casevide FIR No 184/2018 under section 420 RPC and a policeparty led by SHO Poonch under the supervision on SSPPoonchRajiv Pandey swung into the action.
With the strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTVfootage of incident, the accused person got identified asLiyaqat Hussain son of Abdullah resident of KanuyianPoonch and was arrested.
During interrogation, he confessed the crime and the ATMof complainant along with money Rs 38,000 cash was recov-ered from his possession.

UDHAMPUR: Two persons were injured after they wereattacked by a leopard in Marothi locality of Tehsil Chenani inUdhampur.
According to a report, a leopard attacked a woman identi-fied as Krishani Devi wife of Nasib Chand and DarshanSingh son of Sansar Chand residents of village Marothi inChenani. Before the victims could have escaped, leopard crit-ically injured them. On hue and cry raised by victims, localsreached the spot and forced leopard to flee. Both victims wereshifted to Distinct Hospital Udhampur from where they werereferred to GMC Jammu.

RAMBAN: A JCB operator died when a landslide hit theJammu-Srinagar National Highway resulting in its closurefor few hours in Ramban district Tuesday, police said.
The landslide on the highway at Digdool in the district onMonday night resulted in closure of the highway for traffic,they said. While men and machines were pressed into serviceto clear the highway of the landslide, another landslide hit thearea trapping a JCB under it, they said. JCB operatorJamsheed (26) died in the landslide.
The highway was cleared for traffic around 8.30 AM.

DODA: Police on Tuesday arrested a bootlegger and recov-ered 28 bottles of liquor from his possession.
As per the details, on a tip off, Doda police raided in the areaand apprehended one Dev Raj resident of Raryot who wasindudged in selling illicit liquor. In all 28 bottles of liquor fromhis possession. The accused was arrested and a case underrelevant section was registered against him.

STATE TIMES NEWS KATHUA: Danesh Rana,IGP Armed/IRP Jammu vis-ited Battalion HeadquarterKathua on Tuesday. Duringhis visit IGP took the Guardof Honour, inaugurated theconference Hall at BattalionHqrs. Thereafter, IGPArmed/IRP Jammu conduct-ed the Darbar in which morethan 150 officers/officialsparticipated.
During Darbar the officialsput forwarded their genuinegrievances which wereredressed on the spot. Aplantation drive was also car-ried out and a Parijaat treewas planted by the IGPArmed/IRP Jammu in thebattalion premises. According to the complaintlodged with Police StationBillawar, the Abdul Ganientered the room of victim on30th October, 2012 at about11:00 PM and pressed hermouth with criminal intentionto outrage her modesty. Thevictim resisted and was ableto cry when her mother-in-lawreached the spot. The accusedseeing her mother-in-lawreleased the victim and fled.
The JMIC after hearingboth the counsels for theState and the defence held theaccused as guilty and liable tobe convicted. Accordingly theCourt awarded simple impris-onment of 2 years and a fineof Rs 4,500 for commission ofoffence under aforesaidSections.
