Why is it said that attaining moksha is much easier in the

Kaliyuga compared to the other Yugas? In some stories, I read that one should have at least 1

child (male), so that it will be considered in the

    process of attaining moksha/mukti. ...

Given Moksha is a goal of Hinduism, what percent

attain full realization in this lifetime?

Does attaining Moksha have a postive or negative

    ROI?

    Did King Dashrath get Moksha?

Is it easier or more difficult to attain moksha in Satya

    Yuga?

    What increased adharma in Kaliyuga?

Is Sattvic food really needed to attain one's moksha?

Can Tamas and Rajas food eaters still attain their

    moksha?

What are the stages of kaliyuga?

    Is Moksha really leaving everything?

Is it possible to attain the Salvation (Moksha) while

As soon as I see this question I remembered a short folk story. This story is actually a

conversation between Narayana(Lord Vishnu) and Narada(Incarnation of Brahma's

thought and one of the great devotees of Lord Vishnu).

Once upon a time, Narada really wanted to know who is greatest devotee of Lord  Vishnu

or who Lord Vishnu actually likes more. So he directly went to Lord Vishnu and asked him

about his greatest devotee. Lord smiled and showed him a normal hunter in earthrealm

who has a f amily and just living his life as normal as possible without any meditations or

chantings or any of such kind which sages usually do to attain moksha. But he w orshipsLord Vishnu by chanting his name only two times a day, once when he wakes up in the

morning and later when he is about to sleep. So seeing him Narada is upset, how  can a

mere human who just chants his lord twice a day is greatest devotee than a sage who is

immersed in his lord's thoughts and chants his name all the time. So furious Narada asked

his Lord to reason his selection.

Lord Vishnu smiled and gave a vessel filled with milk rig ht upto its neck and asked him to

walk given distance without spilling out milk from the vessel. As for the sage Narada it was

supposedly an easy task and he did it quite easily with a little extra caution just in case. As

soon as he completed the distance Narada is so c urious why this simple test is given

instead of providing reason. So he turned back to Vishnu and was waiting for him to talk.

Lord Vishnu then asked a simple question "How many times did you remember me,

or chant my name while walking with the vessel filled with milk ?"

It was zero times. He is so concentrated and worried about vessel and milk that he

    actually forgot about his lord.

Sage Narada understood the need of this test, the importance of it, the reason why Lord

Vishnu selected that human over many great sages and the greatness of that Human

    devotee.

It's like when you are free and nothing else to do, you can keep on meditating upon god

for any amount of time. But it's how much time you spent when you are filled with other

dharmas and duties. So a thousand year chant/meditation in satya yuga might actually be

equal to 1 year chant/meditation in kali yuga due to its difficulties in everyday life. But it is

    not quite easy to attain.

It is same amount of work, same amount of devotion and same amount everything else.

That is how "Theory of Relativity " is indulged in Hinduism. Thats the scientific religion

    for you :)

Hope you get your answer too :D

Now consider Event B, in which you were having a wonderful dream, everything was just

going perfect, and you woke up in the middle of that dream.

Is the occurrence of Event A much higher than the occurrence of Event B?

In the Hindu view of the world, what we consider as normal experience of the Universe, in

which there is an I, the perceiver, the one who is looking at the world, and there is this

Universe, which is everything else but me. This perception of duality, of a separate I, and

the Universe, according to Hindus, is a dream state, in the sense that it is not real, it's a

Maya   . Enlightenment/Moksha is simply, getting out of this dream state, andexperiencing the reality.

Now imagine that you are in the Matrix, and everything around you is going remarkably

well. Everyone is nice, and everyone follows the rules. People are nice to each other, and

life is going great. Now suppose there comes a someone, who tells you "Listen, the life

that you are living right now, it is nothing but an Illusion! Come with me and

I'll show you the Real life, life beyond pleasure, pain, good, bad, evil or

suffering". How likely are you to pay attention to what he's saying? Since everything is

going so well, and you are enjoying life, you'd probably want to continue living in the

Matrix, and not bother about finding the reality. This is how life is like in the earlier three

Yugas, The Satya Yuga   , The Treta Yuga   , and The Dvapara Yuga,  with thingsgetting slightly worse with each coming Yuga,  but overall, it is mostly good with very littlesuffering, if, at all.

Now comes the Kali Yuga   , the wheels have turned, things are going horribly wrong,

there is widespread evil, and there is enormous suffering all around. You look around the

world, and it looks like everything is straight out of hell. Now suppose the same guy comes

to you and tells you the exact same thing:

"Listen, the life that you are living right now, it is nothing but an Illusion!

Come with me and I'll show you the Real life, life beyond pleasure, pain,

    good, bad, evil or suffering"

How likely are you to pay heed to what the guy is saying now?

Now the Matrix analogy is exactly the same view of what the Hindus mean when they use

the word Maya. And Enlightenment/Moksha is getting out of the Matrix. I hope this helpsexplain why it is said that getting Moksha in the Kali Yuga is much more easier, and why across a lot of religions, specially Christianity and Islam, suffering is considered as

something which brings you closer to God.

I will tell you what my mother told me.

Moksha means being free from emotions, being free from the cycle of birth and death.

There are 4 yugas as you might know.

    1. Satya Yuga

    2. Treta Yuga

    3. Dvapar Yuga

    4. Kali Yuga

In the first 3 yugas, attaining Moksha was a Herculean task. The people, although they

were pious, had to perform penance for thousands of years to get liberation from earthly

    pleasures.

But Kaliyuga is full of corrupt-evil people who don't even have time to pray to God. Here

attaining liberation is a lot easier.

I will illustrate it with an example. Remember Jaya and Vijaya, the demigod dwarpals of

Baikuntha? They were cursed to be born as a mortal by the Kumaras because they refused

to open the door. Refer to the full story here : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/...   Lord

Vishnu then told them that since He cannot revoke the curse, they will need to take birth.

They would need to take birth 7 times to attain moksha as a friend whereas only 3 birth

would give them moksha if they are foes of the Lord. And guess what they chose. Right. To

     be born as asuras.

The more evil you are, the more easier it is to attain liberation.

It's also mentioned in Shrimad Bhagwat that just by uttering the name of God, one can

Ramayan says, “Kalyug naam Adhara” meaning exactly what you have asked.

Kalyug is said to be a yug ruled by Adharma, primarily meaning “wrong”. Righteousness

has been on decline and so has been moral values, ethics and the capacity of people to

hold on to truth. Life is marred by pain and sufferings and everyone is struggling with

    these.

This is all written as characteristics of Kalyug, in Srimad Bhagwat. In such a scenario it isimpossible to engage in tapasyas of hundreds of years as used to happen in previous

yugas. The life span of human is in itself so short now. It is impossible to engag e in those

long tedious Yagnas, neither do people have resources nor the knowledge to perform them

    in the righteous manner.

In this scenario, God has prescribed Bhakti as an ideal marg for Kalyug, where by only

surrendering ourself to the name of God, it is possible to attain Moksha. By complete

dedication to Him, even without any specific ways and means, we can get free from this

    cycle of life and death.

It is said that in the age of Kali the troubles of the mind increases and the level of Dharma

diminishes overall. Dealing with so much stress on a day to day basis, majority of life finds

it hard to attain moksha through yoga or karma. We are not in situations where we can

stick to our duty all the time consistently or dedicate all our life to the practice of yoga. The

is just a part of the cycle of time. Just as the rules of Dharma are flexible for each yuga, the

way to attain liberation is simplified proportionally. If uttering the name of God is hard for

us now, performing yogic meditation was hard at that time. It does not mean that we are

not capable of karma or yoga but it does not come easy for the large section of people.

Bhakti yoga is advised as a sweet path to attain liberation. All the yogas are valid and of

equal status on ask yugas, but the affinity towards each changes with society evolution and

    human nature and attitude change.

According to legends (not mythology) i.e. Puranas, the earlier yugas comparatively, were

    more idyllic.

And moksha is attained easily, when the individual has reached a stage of u rgency like a

fish out of water, when he wants it NOW..

Achievement is better driven by necessity, than by a bundance.

So this epoch, if a soul is on track, provides the ideal conditions to expedite the journey.
