The Prince of Peace family would like to express our sympathy to Wayne Nichols and his family on
the death of his wife, Becky Nichols and to the family of Charles Mareno. We would also like to
extend our sympathy to Andrew Hancock and his family on the death of his father, H. Douglas
Hancock, to Charlie Doyle and his family on the death of his wife, Jeannine Doyle, and to Erick Soto
and his family on the death of his father, Benigno Soto.
Fr. José Fetzer S.J., a beloved priest and spiritual director at the Ignatius Retreat House in Atlanta, died
suddenly Saturday morning, December 22, of a massive heart attack at the Jesuit retreat house.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Thank You from the Pastor Another beautiful Advent Season, Guadalupe Festival and Christmas holiday has passed. I want to take this opportunity to thank all those members of our Prince of Peace parish family who helped make our celebrations wonderful and meaningful.
I cannot name you all individually - the Parish Staff, lectors, ushers, choir members, angels, shepherds, altar servers, decorators, cooks, maintenance staff, greeters, traffic controllers - each person with a job, however large or small, together makes Prince of Peace Church a warm and welcoming stewardship community.
On behalf of Fr. McDaid, Fr. Ackerman, and myself, we appreciate your generosity to each of us and to our parish.
In years past, I had a friend who helped put up the Nativity scene in the church. Year after year, when he was finished, he would sit back, admire his work, and exclaim, “This is the best one yet!” He never tired of the job or the same old figurines, but always found a new joy in putting the trees, lights and manger together.
This is my wish for each of you - find a new joy in all you do this New Year!
God Bless You, Fr. John Fallon

Stewardship: Parishioners Answering God’s Call Recently a parishioner heard from her son, who lives out of state, about a friend of his whose mother was recently
diagnosed with breast cancer. The parishioner didn’t know the friend or his mother, but she certainly did know about
breast cancer. Having survived breast cancer and the subsequent treatment herself, she knew full well how scary those
first few weeks can be as you try to digest the disturbing news. She asked her son to get the mother’s address for her.
She sent a card, with a heartfelt message, letting the woman know that she was not alone and that there is always hope
through prayer. She later heard that the mother was so very grateful for the kindness shown by this parishioner and
how it uplifted her spirits that a perfect stranger would reach out to her with words of comfort.
Help us! Submit your stewardship story examples to [email protected].
They may be edited for space consideration.
