We want all faces to be counted on Monday.... particularly new members. LETS HAVE EVERYONE ON THE RISERS ON APRIL 9TH. Tere advises that blue jeans don't show up well in black and white, so please dress casually, but with tan or neutral colored pants and a clean shirt. Looking forward to the crowd on Monday!!

Annual show promotion of the week: Did you pick up a supply of posters and “slim jims” last Monday? If you still have a few left, how about hanging one at your local florist shop? Florists will be experiencing brisk pre-Mother’s Day business. Tell your friends about our annual show by adding a footer to your email. Make it easy for our fans to get connected with tickets. Simple ideas like this work. Bob Dunning of the Beverly Chapter Passed away April 5th. Bob was 87 years young, and a 61 year member back to October 1 1951. Big part of the Beverly Bash. 2. Nominations are now being accepted for the District Board of directors. If interested please respond to Walt Lane at [email protected] 3. March Membership numbers are in and the District is down 259 in non renewals. We need to send old members an invite to return for a visit. In Maine, we are down only 12 from last year’s totals. Letters are available to send. 4. The Society is looking for a new CEO. If you have the right attitude and want to make a difference, let Margaret Genovese know at [email protected] 5.Portland’s show is ready to roll. May 12th at 7pm. Special guests will be “The Average Joe’s”

Afterglow will be at Chicago Uno’s grill located in the Maine Mall Parking lot. Full menu is available at cost. No cover charge. 6. Steve Isherwood of Rhode Island is the District historian. Any chapter with old papers or pictures you want preserved, send them to Steve, who will put the images on Disk. 7. The Northeast District will take a page from the Seneca Land District. Every chapter who has a program vp, will be glad to know they can now called Vp of fun. attached are the ideas that can be used to make chapter meetings alot more enjoyable. The link is: http:// www.senecaland.org/FUN_Prog.htm 8. For the Barbershop Groupies, the society will be having a huge 75th anniversary show to be held in 2013. Every chapter will receive two songs to sing thruout 2013 at every singout.The 2013 Internationals in Toronto, will be the location for the big show. details will be coming soon. 9. The All Maine sing is on hold. Chapters need to make plans to get together, so the membership of Maine can reunite and sing. 10. Paul Ellinger of Chicago has a great presentation for chapter growth. Chapters in Maine are asked to send members to this forum, so after every singout, they can approach the patrons in hopes of finding future members. Other great things will be on the agenda. the date is looking to be May 19th during the day. If interested, please let Dave Cole know at [email protected] 11. The District is holding a “Solution Day” on June 23rd. This event is for ALL chapter Presidents to come before the Board of Directors and view their concerns about their own chapters or the NED. The forum will start at 10am and go to 4pm. Coffee & lunch will be served. This will be a great way to meet the board along with the society President Alan Lamson. To keep it centrally located, the Board is looking for a Manchester N.H. hotel. TBA. 12. Looking ahead to the fall convention at the Westbrook Performing Arts Building on the campus of Westbrook Middle School, Westbrook Maine. The Convention is looking for a contact person to oversee all set up details and be the contact person for the NED. Besides the head person, the chapters of Waterville, Brunswick, and Camden are listed as the host chapters. Portland will help out where needed.....{if needed}. The convention will be on October 19,20,21, 2012. Sign up for volunteers will be soon on the NED web site. 13. The Division Contest will be on April 13&14. The State of Maine will be represented by 3 chapters on stage. That’s right.....3. Plus quartets and VLQ’s. If they need support, this would be a great place to do just that.
