STARTING & OPERATING THE SCOOTER

A. PRIOR TO STARTING

The following steps are important and must be followed before starting the engineEACH TIME it is used.

THOROUGHLY CHECKING YOUR BIKE TAKES ONLY A FEW MINUTESAND MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE!

Check the fuel level in the fuel tank – Ensure that it is fully fueled with the correct fuel/oilmixing ratio.

Check the brake operation – Tightly squeeze the brake lever and firmly push the bikebackwards and forwards. If the bike moves with the brakes applied then the brakes needreplacement or adjustment. Do not drive with worn or defective brakes.

Check the tire pressure – Tires must be inflated to 32 psi. Driving with too low air pressurein the tire may cause accidents. Never inflate over 32 psi.

Check the throttle for smooth operation – Rotate the throttle and release a couple oftimes. Ensure that it smoothly returns to the original position without manual assistance.

Check the steering – Turn the steering from side to side several times. Ensure that it canfully turn without sticking.

Check the front wheel – Lift up the front end of the bike and spin the front wheel. Ensure that it turns smoothly.

Check the fuel tank cap – Make sure that it is tightly closed.

Check the front steering column – Double-check that the handlebar assembly is firmlytightened.

Check the drive chain – Check to ensure that both engine and wheel drive chain is in goodcondition (not torn or frayed) and not too slack.

Check all nuts, bolts and fasteners AGAIN – Ensure that all wheel nuts and handlebarassembly etc. are securely fastened. Use the included tool kit.

- 9 -B. STARTING PROCEDURE

PARK THE VEHICLE ON A LEVEL SURFACE CHECK FOR SUFFICIENT FUEL IN THE FUELTANK FOLLOW THE CHECK-LIST ON PREVIOUS PAGE

STARTING THE ENGINEDIAPHRAGM CARBURETOR ENGINE1. Push red starter lever2. Depress purge bulb many times until fuel drains out of overflow tube.(The purge bulb is at least 2/3 filled with fuel)

When the bulb is released, the umbrella check valve is drawn closed. An orifice bypassing the check valve allows fuel to be drawn up fromthe fuel tank, through the carburetor fuel pump, metering chamberand into the primer bulb.

3. Pull out the starter rope quickly.

NOTE:

After starter engine, if it is too late released by a throttle wire to cause engine stop. If youwant to restart the engine at once, move the choke lever to the “ON” position. Or elseengine will not start

4. Run it for 2 to 3 minutes to warm up the engine

NOTE:

(1) Don’t accelerate the engine rapidly just after you start it since the engine can’t be well lubricated yet.(2) If the throttle valve is set at the highest speed, the engine may be damaged and shortened its life time by excessive running. Avoid the unloaded operation at high speed (racing) and also never operate the engine in excess of its rated revolution .

5. Check the fuel tank and remember to refill it before exhaustion. Too little fuel may cause the next failure of starting the engine.

BREAK-IN YOUR ENGINEDuring the first two weeks of riding, run your new vehicle tenderly. Don’t run toofast and don’t approach the maximum rpm.Following these guidelines will greatly enhance the long-term power and life of theengine.

- 10 -C. STOPPING THE ENGINE

STOP ENGINE1. After long times to ride, Pull down the engine revolution to the lowest. (2~3minutes).2. Push the stop button.3. Turn off the fuel cock.

ADJUSTMENT OF CARBURETORAdjust the slow speed by the idle adjusting screw. Clockwise turn will make theslow speed higher and counter-clockwise turn will make it lower.

VERY IMPORTANT!

DURING THE FIRST MONTH OF OPERATION – THE “BREAKING-IN” PERIOD -NEVERAPPROACH MAXIMUM SPEED, AVOID SUDDEN ACCELERATION AND DO NOT DRIVE ATHIGH SPEEDS FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME.FOLLOWING THE ABOVE RULES WILL GREATLY ENHANCE LONGTERM PERFORMANCE, ENGINE LIFE AND REDUCE ENGINE TROUBLE

MAINTANANCE

A. DAILY INSPECTIONThe following steps are important and must be followed before starting the engineEACH TIME it is used.

Do not drive with

worn or defective brakes.

Check the tire surface – Look for uneven surfaces, bumps that could cause tire failure orblowouts. Do not drive if the tire surface is uneven or if objects such as nails or stones areembedded in the tire.

Ensurethat it turns smoothly.

Check the fuel tank cap – Make sure that it is tightly closed.

Check the front steering column – Double-check that the handlebar assembly andtelescopic extension is firmly tightened.

Check the drive chain – Check to ensure that both engine and wheel drive chain is in goodcondition (not torn or frayed) and not too slack.

- 12 --

Check all nuts, bolts and fasteners AGAIN – Ensure that all wheel nuts, seat andhandlebar assembly etc. are securely fastened. Use the included tool kit.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

1. Start failure‧ Make sure open the fuel cock.‧ Check if the fuel mix with water.‧ Check if the engine has absorbed excessive fuel.2. Engine starts but fails to run at high speed.‧ Check if the choke fully open.‧ Check if the mixture with normal ratio.

‧ Check if the fuel mix with water.3. Engine runs but fails to display full output‧ The air cleaner element may be foul; it might be trapping too much dirt.‧ The exhaust hole and the muffler may be choked by carbon layer.4. Engine fails to run smoothly.‧ The air vent hole of fuel tank cap may be clogged with dirt.‧ Fuel flow may be stagnated due to sludge or exterior stuffs, which may chock the fuel system.‧ Water may be mixed in fuel.5. Engine can run at high speed, but easily stop at idle speed..Check if carbon plugs the spark..Check if the fuel mixture regular..Check if the engine leaks.

C. PARTS MAINTENANCE

MAINTENANCE1. AIR CLEANER. ‧ The air cleaner will accumulate dust and must be cleaned periodically. Dirty air cleaner will decrease the output capacity. If riding in very dusty area, the filter must be cleaned more frequently. If fouled with dirt, remove the air cleaner cover, and remove the filter from the cleaner case. Check and clean the filter element by warm and soapy water as required. Dry completely before installing. If the element is broken or shrunk, please replace a new one. NOTE:

A clogged air filter may increase fuel consumption while cutting down the engine power.Besides, operate the brush cutter without the filter or with a deformed filter element willquickly ruin the engine.

- 14 -2. FUEL STRAINER‧ Drain the fuel from the tank. Remove the fuel strainer and clean the fuel strainer.

NOTE:

A clogged fuel filter may cause poor acceleration of the engine.
