Hope everyone’s Memorial Day was a good one. Frank and I have in past Memorial Day events, volunteered to put flags out at the cemetery. The VFW every year asks for volunteers and Art Widhalm, who is Com-mander of the Post 3107 in Glasgow, greets volunteers with clipboard in hand and assigns a section of the cemetery to put flags on. Memorial Day is set aside for all Americans to honor those military dead who gave their lives in battle and provides the occasions for family reunions and picnics.

On May 23, we had the privi-

lege to be part of a special kin-dergarten spring program at Irle Elementary School in Glasgow. The program was called “Pajama Party” and yes, all kindergarten students were dressed in their comfy pajamas and slippers, also having their favorite stuffed animal with them. This program, which was a musical performance that was directed by Christine Gilchrist, was wonderfully done by all the students. We were told by our grandson’s teacher, Ms. Himsl, that the students had been practicing their lines and music for months. It truly showed and was a real hit with all the parents and grandparents that packed the auditorium.

I contacted our Saint Marie Fire Department Chief August Aho about training dates for June and he stated as of this writing on May 24, that their first training in

June will be on the 2nd and their second training will be held Sun-day, June 23. If you have thought about joining our Saint Marie Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter, contact the St. Marie Fire Chief August Aho at 263-9733 or Assistant Fire Chief Nick DeGreek at 260-3833.

The Valley County Rifle and Pistol Club has their 2019 Match schedule for June.

On Saturday, June 1, there will be the first match of sum-mer with the .22 LR Rimfire Match, 50 shots, bench rest at 50 yards, the 40 shot metallic .22 silhouette targets. Any .22 rim fire -any sight, scope or iron sight. The Match fee is $10 for each match, shoot one or both. A $15 fee for both matches. If you had any questions you may call Mike Otterberg at 406-367-5281 or his cell at 406-230-2566. We will find out the match results and post them for you.

The next match will be held Saturday, July 13, and will be

the Muzzleloader Turkey Match. If you have any questions, call Mike Otterberg or stop by D&G in Glasgow for more informa-tion.

On June 6, we will celebrate the World War II D-Day Invasion. On this special and historic day, in 1944, the Allied troops invaded the beaches of Normandy, France, to liberate those who were suffer-ing under the German regime. It is the largest amphibious assault in world history, 156,000 troops from the United States, Great Britain and Canada stormed five beaches. Because June 6, 2019, marks the start of the 75th an-niversary of the D-Day Landings and the Battle of Normandy, it is of great significance to celebrate peace, liberty and reconciliation. Many are celebrating in France this year with special events such as parachute landings, concerts and parades.

This is particularly significant

There were 24 motor vehicle stops, eight accidental/prank 911 calls, three reports of missing/loose livestock and eight reports of barking/lost/loose dogs.

Monday, May 13, 20191852 – A female reported that

she and her aunt have property at a local business that the manager is refusing to return. The female has a treadmill there and her aunt has fish there. The female has a list of property that they have.

1909 – A male reported that there was a kid with a bat that was threatening to hit kids with it. Someone took the bat away from him and the kid now has some rocks. He was near some houses, but now he is in the street. He’s

wearing grey shorts, a grey top and has brown hair.

2032 – A caller reported that someone shot a gun into the air in the Shopko parking lot. They left in a black Dodge Charger with 20-county plates.

Tuesday, May 14, 20190926 – A male reported an

abandoned house that isn’t be-ing taken care of and is caus-ing hazardous conditions at his residence. He said the house has weeds over a foot tall, shingles fly off the roof in any type of breeze and there is a tree that is shedding limbs, causing damage. He said the tree had one branch fall on his clothes line and bend the pole and now has another limb that is hang-ing down over their bedroom. The

caller provided the name of the property owner and said he won’t do anything about it. An officer advised that this property has been purchased by another male who will be tearing the house down within the month.

1025 – A female reported a smell in their office that isn’t dissipating. She said it smells hot like burning plastic, but they don’t have any smoke or flames. She advised that this has been go-ing on for about five minutes.

1141 – A female reported a red Ford Escape with 7-county plates traveling at a high rate of speed and all over the road. She said the vehicle has crossed the center line at least six times and was going 70 mph through the 55 mph zone at US Highway 2 and Nashua. The vehicle was located and the driver was given three warnings.

1211 – A St. Marie male ad-vised he just got back to his house after being gone for three weeks and found his neighbors have plugged a cord into his electrical outlet. He said he doesn’t know how long they have been run-ning off of his power. He doesn’t want to leave the outlet because he thinks they will just unplug it and the evidence will be gone. A deputy responded and a citation was issued.

1443 – A female called to re-port a female, single occupant of a silver Ford Taurus, headed north bound on Highway 24 North that is all over the road. She said the driver has her head down and is crossing the center line several times into oncoming traffic. The vehicle turned into St. Marie. It was determined that the driver had just been to the dentist.

1638 – A female said there is a white Chevy Lumina that they need to get moved. It is in the way of some construction work.

2018 – A caller requested ex-tra patrol of the Shopko parking lot. He said people have been revving their engines, doing bro-dies and throwing garbage out. He said a Dodge did a brodie in the parking lot yesterday. A few minutes ago a vehicle was rev-ving their engine and spun out. He said they are making a lot of noise. An officer responded to the area and sat stationary for 20 minutes. Nothing occurred and the vehicles left the parking lot after a short while.

2149 – A male requested an officer to talk to him and his girlfriend. He said her boss was aggressive with her and using profane language. When they returned to her house later, the male boss was sitting outside her residence in a vehicle.

Wednesday, May 15, 20190123 – A male called to report

that someone had taken a stroller out of the back of his car some-time between May 10 and now.

0933 – A female caller, who did not wish to give her name, reported a weedy lot in the back of a residence. She said she has reported this before and nothing came of it. She said the weeds were so high before winter that when the snow came, it made it so she wasn’t able to get out the back.

1840 – MHP reported a blue Mercury Mountaineer by mile marker 18 on Highway 24 North. He said there is nobody in the vehicle. A female advised that she is with the person who drives this car and they just saw that some-one has written on the window. She said it has the date and the numbers “324” on it. She said she needs to talk to the driver because he ran out of gas and doesn’t get paid until Tuesday. She wanted to know if it would be alright if the vehicle was there until then.

MHP advised they did not have a problem with the vehicle staying there until Tuesday.

2355 – A female called and reported that she just got home from Glendive and the front door of her house was wide open. She said her cat was gone and there were lights on in the house that she didn’t leave on.

Thursday, May 16, 20190003 – A deputy requested a

welfare check on a two year-old child. He said that a male was involved in an accident and he was arrested. He said the male was looking for his two year-old son, but the deputy said no one was in the vehicle with him.

0101 – A female called to advise she had some people out back getting ready to fight. A male with a PBT of .274 was arrested.

1012 – A female reported that her mother was scammed. Her mother stated that on the 14th, she received a call from someone claiming to be from St. Vincents Hospital in Bill-ings. They requested her Social Security number and she gave it to them. It was determined that it was not the hospital that called. They have contacted the Center for Aging and put a freeze on her credit. She was also advised to contact her bank and any credit card companies she is affiliated with and let them know.

1728 – A male reported that he was headed southbound on Highway 24 North when school bus #10 passed him. He said when the bus merged back into the proper lane, they came within five feet or less of the front end of his car. He is willing to write out a complaint if needed.

2136 – A female reported that they had some people break into their property. She said they have the plate numbers of the vehicles

involved and both vehicles are in Frazer. She said they haven’t checked to see what all is missing but the burglars broke the lock on their building and she knows they have a jack.

2240 – A female reported that a male, possibly Native Ameri-can, stumbled and fell in front of a vehicle in front of the yellow apartments. She said he was wearing dark-colored clothing and the vehicle was a dark color as well. She thought the subject might be intoxicated. Officers responded and helped the subject to his apartment and left him in the care of family members.

port that she just received a call. It was a recording from the Social Security Office and said they had a warrant for her arrest.

1657 – A male reported a kid who is out by the tracks that he thinks someone should go check on. He said he thinks someone should be with him. He said the guy is a teenager, no older than 20, under six-feet tall, blue sweat-shirt, gray/brown pants. The dispatcher had to put the caller on hold to answer another call and when she got back on the line to question him further, he had hung up. Attempts to reach him on the phone went unanswered.

Saturday, May 18, 20191856 – A male is at home now,

but reported being assaulted at a bar in Nashua by someone who drives a blue Nissan Xterra. He would like a deputy to come take pictures and take a statement.

Sunday, May 19, 20191455 – A male said he was

pulling a fence post out, it went flying, the chain went through his back window and the rest of it smashed his cab. He would like an officer to come and take a report for insurance.
