4TH UNIVERSITY MALAYA LIMB DEFORMITY
CORRECTION COURSE
Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur Shah Alam, Selangor
22nd – 25th APRIL 2014
The 4th Deformity Correction course is designed to provide a comprehensive
learning experience for orthopaedic surgeons and supporting staffs who are involved in
management of limb deformities caused by different underlying problems.
• The basic course on external fixation (22 April) is designed for nurses and junior
doctors. It will cover basic techniques and application principles of unilateral and
circular frame external fixation for trauma fixation and deformity correction.
• The deformity course (22 to 24 April) consists of 6 lecture sessions, 3 group
discussions and 6 saw bone workshops on selected procedures for orthopaedic
surgeons and trainees. We are proud to have a group of experts from ASAMI
International and prominent trauma surgeons to teach and guide the participants
during this learning process.
• On the 25 April, there will be a cadaveric demonstration session where we will invite
the experts to show us step by step how to perform some of the most advanced
procedures to correct limb deformity. We will also prepare some video recordings on
selected surgical techniques performed on life patients before and in between the
demonstrations.
This is the first time we are inviting many local and foreign experts for the course
because we hope to provide comprehensive inputs on the management of many difficult
limb deformities. We hope that those interested will register early because we have to
limit the number of participants to ensure adequate hands-on experience and effective
transfer of knowledge.
Thank you.
Yours truly,
Dr Saw Aik
