RELEASE DATE: May 31, 2015 SUBJECT: Becker and Caughey members of All-Region squad SOURCE: Women’s Lacrosse Coach Dianna ste-Marie, 866-0300, Ext. 8257 HERKIMER, NY – The Herkimer Generals women’s lacrosse team had two members on the 2015 All-Region Team. They were midfielders Danae Becker and Alexis Caughey. Becker - a freshman from Cortland, NY – was nominated to the first team, and was 13 th regionally in goals scored (32), playing in only eight games for the Generals with a leg injury. Her best two games came against Anne Arundel and Genesee Community College, netting 15 total goals – seven against the Pioneers and eight against the Cougars. Becker was only held scoreless in one game on the season. Caughey – who is also from Cortland, NY – was named to the second team. The sophomore was 25 th regionally in goals scored (21), 20 th in assists (10) and sixth in ground balls (56). Helping her to those totals was three games with five points. The midfielder had two goals and three assists in a 15-14 win over Genesee, five goals in a 16-9 win over Erie and two goals and three assists in a 14-13 loss to Broome. -30-
