The Ledger Independent is seeking a part-time (20 to 24 hours per week) sports reporter to help cover a seven-county area focusing on prep sports. We’re looking for someone with a passion for sports to work with our Sports Editor to cover a variety of sports in a fast paced environment when it comes to games, features, and deadlines. The job requires a passion for local community sports news and the desire to showcase the diverse talent across the Maysville area through their writing. Social media savviness is a plus to help us to continue our development with digital content throughout our platforms, whether it be stories, photos or videos. This opportunity ideally fits someone who has a passion for writing, loves local sports, is flexible, and able to work within a team environment. Additional coverage may include University of Kentucky among many other area colleges, Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds. Nights and weekends will be required. The Ledger Independent is a morning newspaper that is printed five days a week, and publishes several special sections throughout the year.
