5-Year Master Plan

Founded in 1988, Stone Harbor Golf Club is the Jewel of the Jersey Shore, a relaxed and inviting resort-style

club “where guests feel like members and members feel like family.”

Our club boasts a renowned 18-hole Desmond Muirhead golf course that challenges and excites golfers of all

skill levels. The newly unveiled, state of the art practice area is among the finest in the region. The exquisite

southern-style clubhouse offers a myriad of casual dining options, modern renovated locker rooms, and a fully

stocked golf shop with a curated selection of golf and lifestyle apparel. Our elegant hospitality venues offer the

perfect setting to celebrate life’s memorable moments.

Over the past several years, we have made significant capital investments into Stone Harbor Golf Club, both

on the golf course and inside the Clubhouse. Many of these upgrades are visible to Members, while others have

addressed the equally important improvements to the facility’s infrastructure.

We recently completed a comprehensive five-year Master Plan for Stone Harbor Golf Club that details our

vision for continuing to elevate the member experience. This brochure outlines our plans for the golf course,

illustrates the soon-to-be launched expansion of our hospitality areas, and offers our intentions for new and

exciting social amenities.

Plans for the golf course began with engaging well-known Golf Course Architect, Tyler Rae, who is working

with our talented golf course staff to detail the coming changes to the course over the next five years. The

enhancements include the continuation of projects already started:

This booklet also details the clubhouse expansion along with additional Food & Beverage venue spaces and

lounge areas for Members. These spaces will be supported by a redesigned and expanded Halfway House that

incorporates a second, comprehensive full kitchen and bar. We are also planning to incorporate additional

restrooms to support this additional growth expansion.

Lastly,westartedworkingonthedesign/functionalityofanew,expansivetwo-storycartbarn.Thevisionforthis

project is to incorporate a state-of-the-art teaching center offering private lessons, cutting edge technology

and custom club fittings for our Members.

The CART BARN at Stone Harbor Golf Club Over the next year, we will be working with an architect and designer to take our concept

for the new, two-story CART BARN and turn it into a formal plan that will mimic the look

and feel of our award winning clubhouse.

In addition to serving an essential function for our golf operations, this state-of-the-art

Golf Performance Center will be outfitted with the latest technology to enhance

the learning, practice and the custom club fitting experience.

all-new HalfwaY House and lakes dining room exPansion

Over the next couple of years, Stone Harbor Golf Club will take open-air entertaining and hospitality to the

next level with the construction of a new Halfway House and the expansion of our Lakes Dining Room.

Imagine sitting with friends, enjoying cocktails and casual fare while listening to weekly entertainment.

All of this will be possible with our new Halfway House. Plans include constructing a full working kitchen and

new bathrooms, opening another full-service bar, expanding the lower deck patio, and adding coastal chic

lounge seating for our Members’ comfort.

Soon the Lakes Dining Room will be able to accommodate even larger special events for our Members and their

guests. Our designs include expanding the room to allow more space for dancing and dining. Plans also include

the construction of a new outside deck area for cocktail receptions, ceremonies, or additional outdoor seating.

A tale of two ArchitectsWhen ground was broken on the golf course in 1987, Stone Harbor

Golf Club set out to create one of the top courses on the entire eastern

seaboard. To accomplish this, renowned golf architect Desmond

Muirhead was selected to create 18 unique golf holes at Stone Harbor.

Muirhead was one of the most respected golf course designers of his time

and was named by Golf Digest as “the most innovative designer in 100

years.” There is certainly plenty of truth in that statement when it comes

to Stone Harbor where Muirhead excavated a million cubic yards of earth

to create a visually stunning masterpiece with dramatic elevations and

land undulation.

Thirty years later, the story continues. Stone Harbor Golf Club has

embarked on an inspired five year restoration project designed by Golf

Course Architect, Tyler Rae. Rae, who has an outstanding pedigree in his

own right, studied under Golden Age restoration expert Ron Prichard,

in addition to working with Bill Coore, Ben Crenshaw and Keith Foster.

Tyler’s master plan renderings for Stone Harbor have breathed new life

and excitement into the golf course. His vision for Stone Harbor combines

his skillful eye for architecture with an appreciation for the celebrated

history of the original design. Although years apart, what two brilliant golf

architects, Desmond Muirhead and Tyler Rae, are continuing to create

at Stone Harbor is nothing short of extraordinary and will keep the golf

world buzzing for years to come.
