NEWS RELEASE 5-25-2016 UPDATE The 22-year-old subject involved in the shooting in Sussex has been identified as London White from Milwaukee. White has been in custody since the early morning hours of Monday May 16, 2016 pending charges being filed today. The 16-year-old Sussex resident was shot during a suspected drug transaction; he remains in critical condition at this time.

5-16-2016 UPDATE The 19-year-old subject involved in the shooting in Sussex has been identified as Niikwame D. Bell. It has been reported that the 16-year-old Sussex resident was shot during a suspected drug transaction.

Bell was detained by the Wauwatosa Police Department on Saturday 5-14-16 after he reported being the victim of a carjacking in which his vehicle was stolen. The Wauwatosa Police Department transported Bell to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department where he was turned over to detectives to be interviewed regarding his vehicle being involved in this incident. Bell spoke with detectives and later admitted that his vehicle had not been stolen. Bell admitted that he gave the 22-year-old Milwaukee man a ride in his vehicle to Sussex for the purpose of a drug transaction. A witness stated that the passenger exited the front passenger side of the vehicle and fired four to five shots from a handgun. This incident continues to be under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department. More information will be released as it becomes available. 5-16-2016 UPDATE

Two Subjects in Custody

On Monday 5-16-16 at approximately 1:00 am, the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, with the assistance of the Wisconsin Department of Justice and the Milwaukee Police Department were able to locate and apprehend a second subject believed to be involved in the shooting in Sussex. We currently have a 19-year-old male and a 22-year-old male, both subjects from Milwaukee, in custody for the shooting at this time. As of 10:30 am this morning, the 16-year-old male remains in critical condition. This is an isolated incident and the community is not in any danger. 5-14-16 On Saturday, 5-14-2016 at approximately 3:35 pm the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, Village of Pewaukee Police Department and Village of Menomonee Falls Police Department along with the Village of Sussex Fire Department responded to the area of the Bugline Trail and Pick n Save in the Village of Sussex for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, we located a 16-year-old male from Sussex laying in the grass on the north side of the Pick N Save parking lot with a gunshot wound. The scene was secured and EMS started life saving measures on the male subject. The subject was transported by the Sussex Fire Department to Waukesha Memorial Hospital and later transported to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. The Village of Butler Police Department, City of Wauwatosa Police Department, City of Milwaukee Police Department and City of Waukesha Police Department have been assisting in the investigation as we attempt to








locate possible suspects. This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no reason the community is in any danger at this time. This incident remains under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department. Further information will be given out as it is obtained.
