THAT MAN IS YOU! TMIY Men’s Program meets Sunday mornings
from 7:30–9:00 a.m. in the teachers’ lounge. Join us on
March 1 when the topic will be Purity and the Presence of
Our Lady. This week will cover: • Transforming our Hearts
• Moral Formation: The Freedom to Love
• The Power of a Message
• Need for Consistency
• The Guidance of Our Lady
• Developing Devotion to Our Lady
• Practical Advice
All men are welcome and can join us at any time. Ques-
tions? Contact John at [email protected] or
(419) 261-8646.
EVER THOUGHT ABOUT JOINING THE CHOIR? Have you noticed our St. Joan of Arc Chorale is much smaller than normal? It's that time of year again when our
snowbirds fly the coupe for someplace warmer for the win-
ter. We would love to boost our numbers in chorale. If this is
something that you have been thinking about, why not give us a try? Our rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to
9:00 p.m. in the church. Looking forward, the chorale is plan-
ning a trip to Rome, Italy in the fall of 2016. We would love to take as many as possible for this wonderful event. Please feel
free contact Mr. Kevin Foos at (416) 866-6181 or email
[email protected] for further details.
COMFORT QUILT GROUP Join the Comfort Quilt group on Tuesday, March 3, at 7:00
p.m. in the Community Room. Sewing experience is helpful but not necessary. If you have any questions, contact Paulette
Moszkowicz at (419) 865-0961 or [email protected].
ing the Holy Bible, reaching out to our neigh-
bor in need, visiting the sick, fasting, (fasting
is done so that we reduce our consumption to
share it with others) sharing part of our goods
with others, giving up our bad habits, etc.
Grace of Reflection and Re-evaluation – This is also a time to reflect on our life, evalu-
ate and re-evaluate the choices we have made
– in favor of God or not in favor of God- and
make a decision to bring our life back on to
the path that leads to God. After betraying
Jesus, Judas had an opportunity to reflect on
his choice and his reflection led him to com-
mit suicide. After denying Jesus for three
times Peter had an opportunity to reflect on
his choice and his reflection led him to re-
morse and repentance. Peter cried bitterly and
set his life in motion towards God. Where
does your reflection lead you?
As we enter into this Holy season of Lent, I
wish and pray that all of us come to experi-
ence the Lord and begin to live our lives in
our Lord so that like St. Paul, we too may be
able to say “It is not I but Christ who lives in
me…”(Gal. 2:20).
God Bless You!
Fr. Walter Tuscano

and would be interested in being trained to
serve Holy Mass and other parish liturgies,
please contact the parish office. Provide us
with the student’s name and email address and
we will send information and an outline of
server requirements. Training for the non-SJA
school students will be on Saturday mornings.

"Happy is the soul that knows how to find Jesus in
the Eucharist, and the Eucharist in all things!"

SPARK—MARCH 5 Join your St. Joan of Arc parish family for a great meal, fellowship and help us welcome new members! There will
be a presentation by NFL star Mike McCoy. The best part
about this awesome evening is that it’s totally FREE! Make
sure to invite your friends and family. There is limited seat-ing, so make sure to RSVP for the event using our website
or the SJA Mobile app!
SPARK will take place in our school gymnasium. Doors open at 5:15! Following SPARK, all are welcomed and en-
couraged to join us for a night of musical worship, adoration
and reconciliation called IGNITE in the church beginning at
7:00 p.m.
40 CANS FOR LEN As a part of your Lenten sacrifice/almsgiving/prayer,
please remember to daily set aside one can of food for Our Lady of Lourdes Food Pantry, Assumption Outreach Center,
and St. Louis Helping Hands. Your sacrifice will support
their daily service to the poor and disadvantaged of our
community. Thank-you for your participation in the 1st 40 CANS FOR LEN.
BLOODMOBILE THANK YOU Mother Nature tried, but the loyal blood donors were knocking at the door of the gym to donate their unit/units of
life saving blood on Saturday, Valentine’s Day! To the 112
units of blood donators who have given their blood to hun-
dreds of those in need, we applaud your persistence. This drive was the first of three that St. Joan of Arc will sponsor
in 2015.
A special thank you to those who brought Valentine cookies for the donors; the volunteers came at 6:30 a.m. to
unload the trucks and set up the gym for donations by 7:30
a.m. and came again at 1:30 p.m. to break down; the volun-teers who assisted the ARC staff during the day; and to the
phone calling volunteers who scheduled the donors, an un-
tiring task — thanks. Of special note: 15 of our volunteers,
who worked unloading, or loading, or assisting the ARC staff, were also blood donors! HE will reward all of you!
Our second drive for 2015 will be in the gym on Saturday
June 20, 2015. If you have comments, contact Gene or Den-nis at (419) 861-0161 or [email protected].
40 DAYS WAYWARD Make this Lent transformative! Throughout the season of Lent, all are invited to a special series of
events called 40 Days Wayward. Each 40 Days
Wayward event will consist of Adoration, music
led by Kevin Foos, presentation by one of our priests or deacons, and a Divine Mercy Chaplet.
Each session will begin at 7:00 p.m. and go till 8:00

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL NEEDS YOU! St. Joan of Arc VBS is planning an expedition
to Mt. Everest this summer. Our expedition is
planned for the week of June 15-19 in the morn-ings. Currently we are looking for station leaders
– we need adult help to fill theses leadership roles
before we can move forward with our plans.
Teens who are at least seniors in high school may
be considered as station leaders. Being a station leader is easy and fun. Each
station leader has a booklet with the days’ lesson
and activity already planned for you to follow. Please consider being a part of VBS this year…it is
a fun and rewarding week with the youth of our
parish. Without leaders our expedition to Mt. Ever-
est will not happen.
If you have questions, would like to volunteer or have any ideas to help us out please e mail Cathy

PARISH MISSION STATEMENT Responding to the call of Jesus, St. Joan of Arc Parish is a Catholic Community, guided by the Holy Spirit,
striving to do God’s will. We encourage spiritual growth and invite full, active and conscious participation
of all generations through prayer, stewardship and fellowship.
FEBRUARY 22 – “BLINDSIDED” / TEC 418 One of the great things about being Catholic is our strong sense of obedience. Join us as we explore the
teaching authority of the Magisterium. Our night will
begin with dinner at 6:30 p.m. (If you are a junior or
senior male, join us at TEC 418 for one of the best, if not the best, retreat of your life! Contact Joseph for
more information – [email protected])
MARCH 1 – “UNIVERSAL OUTLOOK” We’ve already explored the first two marks of the
church – One and Holy. Tonight we explore the third
mark of the church – Catholic. Join us as we learn the
vast universality of our church and how we are con-nected to other Catholics across the world. Dinner be-
gins at 6:30 p.m.
MARCH 8 – “OUTSIDE IN” Ever feel as if you don’t quite fit in to the church
crowd? Tonight we explore where our salvation truly
comes from. Join us as we discover the joys and hopes
of our salvation. Our night begins with dinner at 6:30 p.m. See you there!
*ATTENTION PARENTS AND PARISH GROUPS* We need your help! In order to best serve the teens of our
parish, we do our best to feed them dinner each week prior to
our Life Nights. But unfortunately committing to making
food each week would reduce the quality of our program
with our focus on food, not the teens. This is where you
come in! If you are at all interested in providing food for
approximately 40 people, please contact Joseph Getsi at
[email protected]! We would greatly appreciate any help
we can get and we’d love for you to join us for our night!

ENDOW PROGRAM BEING OFFERED AT SJA For SJA Women - Endow is a Catholic educational pro-
gram that brings women together to discover their God-given
dignity and femininity through richness and authenticity of
Catholic teaching. When we as women grow in understanding the teachings of the Church and in the truth of Jesus Christ, our
faith becomes more fully defined. We will study the Letter to
Women of St. Pope John Paul II in more detail for eight to ten weeks, limited to twelve women. Registration details will be
announced next week-end.
TO PARENTS OF STUDENTS PREPARING FOR
