•專輯充滿個人情緒，聽來複雜甚至奇怪編曲與管樂交錯，粗啞豬嚎～

•1921~2008，生於於美國達拉斯，9歲開始吹豎笛，北達大學音樂系畢業，50年代初期開始在西岸與Howard

Rumsey的燈塔群星會及Shorty Rogers合作，灌錄多張西岸爵士代表作

•1956開始自組特殊編制的Jimmy Giuffre 3，自己吹奏豎笛，搭配吉他Jim Hall和貝斯Ralph Pena或伸縮喇叭手Bob

Brookmeyer，之後則是與鋼琴手Paul Bley及貝斯手Steve

Swallow，開創cool爵士新路線

•樂評認為Jimmy Giuffre的成就被忽略原因：吹豎笛，而非傳統薩克斯風或是小號，音樂不夠有熱度及力道，重點是：No one was ready for this music.

• 1939年出生於紐約州水牛城，自幼自學鋼琴，後轉學薩克斯風，60年代移居紐約市，被視為繼Albert Ayler之後又一自由爵士大將。

•慣常在街頭和地鐵演出，靠路人打賞過活，80年代被重新重視前，多半時候處於貧窮與無家可歸狀態，1988年首次領銜灌錄專輯Homeless，但多為歐陸廠牌，2000年開始將演出視為表演藝術

•特色：樂音的不和諧，長篇即興，吹奏震動，自由靈魂曲調

•這張專輯被視為其最可親近的作品，搭檔樂手為貝斯William Parker及鼓手Rashied Ali，曲中滲進Coltrane作品，向Coltrane致敬
