Obituary

The 58th Annual SKA Mahotsav was held on Sunday 2nd September 2018 at the Watford Colosseum, Rickmansworth Road, Watford under the Honorary Presidency Patronage of Honourable

Mahotsav Pramukh Dampati Mr Navin Kantilal Parmar and Mrs Hansaben Navin Parmar

The packed venue was treated to an entertaining programme consisting of Cultural dances, Garba, Bollywood Mix Song performances and a great performance by the Pramukh Family. On the completion of the programme, members were able to purchase alcoholic drinks at the bar before completing the evening with vegetarian and non vegetarian buffet meal.

Once again SKA set up a successful twitter feed for the Mahotsav by which the attendees provided on-going feedback and photos on the proceedings. The photos and messages were then regularly projected and read out to everyone. This social media presentation was set up and presented by Varsha Sandeep Khatri.

Mahotsav 2018Hansaben Navin Parmar started the 58th Mahotsav at around 2pm with the lighting of the divo to Shri Ganeshji asking for his blessings for the success of the Mahotsav. Next items were the The Prathana “ Bhagvan Sauthi Mota Che” and Swagat Geet “Swag Se Kar De Sab Ka Swagat”.

This was followed by the introduction of the Honorary President Dampati Mr Navin Kantilal Parmar and Mrs Hansaben Navin Parmar by son Nilesh and daughter Neelam in English and in Gujarati by Anil Mohanlal Khatri who also showed some lovely pictures of our Honorary Guest on a slide show, which we all enjoyed.

A two minutes silence was observed as we remembered those who passed away and prayed that their souls rest in peace. Ganesh Deepak Khatri and Ashish Guddiwala read out the good wishes and greetings from various Kshatriya Mandals around the world, as well as messages from relatives and well-wishers for the Mahotsav to be a great success.

The entertainment began with Bharat Natyam Dance “Krushna Janmashtami” followed by Dances “Chum Chum” and “Punjabi Beats”. Ganesh Deepak Khatri gave announcement for the forthcoming AGM.This was followed by a Donation appeal speech given by Hitesh Kalidas.

Entertainment continued with Dances “The SKA Boys” and “Bollywood Bambinoos” Sandeep Khatri gave information about the E-Directory using the Power Point presentation.

The entertainment continued with Garbo “ Rangeela Dance” and Bhangras Ballers”.

To g ive everyone a breather f rom the entertainment a refreshment break followed with tea, biscuits and muffins provided for all. SKA would like to thank the Pramukh's family for their kind donation of these refreshments.

The programme continued with the floral presentation and a plaque to the Honorary President. He then gave his personal views and thoughts. SKA President also made a speech congratulating the Pramukh Dampati.

Acknowledgements of academic & sporting achievements were then announced; and all those who participated in the performances were reminded to collect their Gift Vouchers. General Acknowledgements were made thanking all participants and volunteers.

London Team who brought lots of trophies were honoured with a Special Award.

The entertainment continued with energetic Dances “ High Rated Bhangra Mix”, “Tribute to Shridevi” and “Nainowala”.

This was followed by Open Speech given by Kiran Jadav, Bhavin Shantilal Khatri, Trushna Bhavin Khatri and Khushboo Bhavin Khatri.

Continuing the Mahotsav tradition we had a special treat with the President's Family performing the Dance “The Veer's Are Back” (mix of Hindi cinema songs).

Next followed the eagerly awaited raffle draw, as always most entertainingly compared by Jitendra Pravinchandra Khatri. The following great prizes were presented to the winners with the lucky tickets.

Finally, the British and the Indian National Anthems were sung to end the entertainment segment of the day… but NOT the evening. The bar opened for members to have a drink or two with Masala Caterers serving the vegetarian and non-vegetarian buffet.

THANK YOUSKA would like to once again thank all those who participated in the performances for their time and dedication, devoting many hours for practices. Without you the Mahotsav just would NOT be possible. All performances were outstanding and a pleasure to watch. So please encourage your family members to participate because it is also great for personal development to perform on stage!

And a BIG thank you to all those volunteers who have selflessly helped before, during and after the Mahotsav, with this year the additional volunteers to manage the process of SKA Committee elections. Your help is, as always, greatly appreciated and is indeed most welcome.

2018 Annual General Meeting - ReviewThe Annual General Meeting was held on Sunday 7th October at the SKA Hall 2A Villiers Road, London NW2 5PH and proceedings commenced at 4.30pm. We are very pleased to say the AGM was well attended and the SKA matters were briskly discussed/debated.

The following agenda items were discussed:

1. Approval of Previous AGM Minutes - APPROVED2. Approval of the Accounts for the year ended 31 March 2018 - APPROVED3. Re-Appointment of Auditors - APPROVED4. Any Other Business

Important Announcement for 2019 Mahotsav

The 59th Mahotsav will be held on Sunday 18th August 2019, once again at the Watford Colosseum,

Rickmansworth Road, Watford WD17 3JN

We are also pleased to announce the Pramukh for our 59th Mahotsav will be Mr Dhansukhlal Parsottam Khatri

(Pokkawala)

In addition, two further Resolutions stated below were approved in the AGM following discussions as part of Any Other Business. 1. Hall Hire:“To waive hall hire fees for Team London in respect of Football Social fundraising events and use for Team meetings for Khatri World Cup in Brisbane 2020 and all subsequent Khatri World Cup tournaments.”

2. Cash Donation“Upon request from an eligible member participating in a charitable event for purposes of charitable fund raising, SKA will make a cash donation of £100 subject to cap of one request per member per fiscal year and for the avoidance of doubt this is to include members participating in Khatri World Cup.”

The Meeting concluded at 6:45pm. The SKA Committee would like to thank all those who attended and indeed participated; and request that Members continue to support and engage in future AGM and the lively discussions and decision making that affects us all.

Navratri

This year's Navratri Fes�vity was held only for one day on 13th October at Lycee Interna�onal De Londres Winston Churchill (formerly Brent Town Hall), Address 54 Forty Lane, Wembley HA9 9LY with the popular band Saraswa� Kala. Nearly 400 people a�ended the event and enjoyed Garba-Raas., along with the snacks Bhel, Dabeli, Khichi(papdi no lot) and Samosa Chaat, served by Masala Caterers.

We would like to thank Saraswa� Kala Group, Masala Caterers and everyone who helped with the set up.

2018 Children's Christmas PartyFor the children, this year's Christmas Party will be on

from Saturday 15th December 2018 3pm to 6pm

at the SKA Community Hall. We are inviting all Children 10 years or under to attend the fun, games

and entertainment at this ever popular event. To avoid the hall getting crowded, it is requested that only one parent of children under 5 can accompany them, all

other parents are requested to drop their children at 3pm and collect them at 6pm.

NEW FOR THIS YEAR: Please note that the number of attendees to the party is restricted to 50 children. There will be no entry on the door, hence you will have to

register your children either by emailing on or [email protected] Jyoti Hiteshkumar Tailor on 07905 471206 with the NAME and AGE of each child

by 8th December. Registration will be strictly on first come first serve basis.

FORTHCOMING EVENT

૫૮મો વા�ષ�ક એસકેએ મહો�સવ રિવવાર ૨ � સ�ટે�બર ૨૦૧૮ના રોજ

વાટફોડ� કોલોસીયમમાં યો�યો હતો. મહો�સવના મુ�ય દંપતી માનનીય �ી

નિવન કાંતીલાલ પરમાર અને �ીમતી હંસાબેન નવીન પરમાર હતા.

આ �દવસે મનોરંજક કાય��મ સાથે સાં�કૃિતક નૃ�યો, ગરબા, બોલીવુડ િમકસ

સ�ગ �દશ�ન અને મુ�ય પ�રવાર �વારા એક મહાન �દશ�ન સમાવવામાં આ�યું

હતું. �ો�ામના સમાિ�ત પછી, દરેક સ�યોએ શાકાહારી અને િબનશાકાહારી

ભોજનની મ� માણી હતી.

એકવાર ફરીથી એસકેએએ મહો�સવ માટે એક સફળ િ�વટર ફીડ સેટ કય� જેના

�વારા હાજરી આપનારાઓએ કાય�વાહી પર �િત��યા અને ફોટા �દાન કરી.

ફોટા અને સંદેશાઓ પછી િનયિમતપણે રજૂ કરાયા અને દરેકને વાં�યા. આ

સોિશયલ મી�ડયા રજૂઆતની �થાપના વષા� સંદીપ ખ�ી �વારા કરવામાં આવી

હતી.

�ીમતી હંસાબેન નિવન પરમારએ લગભગ બપોરે ૨ વાગે ભગવાન ગણપિત

પાસે દીપ �ગટાવી મહો�સવની સફળતા માટે તેમના આશીવા�દ માં�યા અને

૫૮માં મહો�સવની શ�આત કરી હતી. પછી �ાથના "ભગવાન સૌથી મોટા છે"

અને �વાગત ગીત "�વાગ સે કર�ગે સબકા �વાગત" રજૂ થયા હતા.

�યાર બાદ માનનીય �મુખ દંપતી �ી નિવન કાંતીલાલ પરમાર અને �ીમતી

હંસાબેન નવીન પરમાર નો પ�રચય �ી િનલેશ અને પુ�ી નીલમ �વારા

અં�ે�માં અને અિનલ મોહનલાલ ખ�ી �વારા ગુજરાતીમાં આપવામાં આ�યો

હતો.

આ વષ� દરિમયાન અવસાન પામેલી �યિ�તઓ માટે બે િમનીટ મૌન રાખવામાં

આ�યું અને તેમના આ�માની શાંિત માટે �ાથ�ના કરવામાં આવી હતી. ગણેશ

દીપક ખ�ી અને આશીષ ગુ�ડવાલાએ દુિનયાભર િવિવધ �િ�ય મંડળોની

શુભકામનાઓ અને શુભે�છાઓ વાંચી.

મનોરંજનની શ�આત ભરત ના�યમ નૃ�ય "કૃ�ણ જ�મા�મી" સાથે થયુ.ં

ગણેશ દીપક ખ�ીએ આગામી એ�એમની �હેરાત કરી.

�યારબાદ િહતેશ કાિલદાસ �વારા દાન માટે અપીલ કરવામાં આવી હતી.

નૃ�ય "ધ એસકેએ બોયઝ" અને "બોલીવુડ બાિ�બનોસ" સાથે મનોરંજન ચાલુ

ર�ું હતું.

સંદીપ �જલાલ ખ�ીએ પાવર પોઇ�ટ ��તુિતનો ઉપયોગ કરીને ઇ-�ડરે�ટરી

િવશેની માિહતી આપી.

ગરબો “રંગીલા ડા�સ" અને “ભાંગરાસ બેલસ�" સાથે મનોરંજન ચાલુ ર�ું.

�યાર બાદ �મુખ પ�રવાર તરફથી ટી-�ેકમાં ચા, બી�કીટ અને મ�ફ�સ

આપવામાં આ�યા હતા અને તે બદલ એસકેએ તેમનો આભાર માનીઓ હતો.

કાય��મ માનનીય �મુખ �ી ને �લોની ��તૃિત સાથે ચાલુ ર�ો. પછી તેમણે

તેમના અંગત િવચારો અને મંત�યો �હેર કયા�. એસકેએના �ેિસડે�ટ અનીતા

નરો�મે પણ મુ�ય દંપતીને અિભનંદન આ�યા હતા.

શૈ�િણક અને રમતની િસિ�ધઓની �વીકૃિત અને તે પછી િનવૃત થયેલાની

નામાવલીની �હેરાત કરવામાં આવી હતી અને જે લોકોએ કાય��મમાં ભાગ

લીધો હતો તે બધાને તેમની લહાણી અને િગ�ટ વાઉચર લેવાનું સૂચન થયું હતુ,ં

અને બધા સહભાગીઓ અને �વયંસેવકોનો આભાર માનવામાં આ�યો હતો.

મસાલા કેટરસ� �વારા શાકાહારી અને િબનશાકાહારી ભોજન આપવામાં

આ�યું હતુ.ં

આભારએસકેએ ફરી એક વખત બધાનો આભાર માને છે જેમણે તેમના સમય

સમપ�ણ કરી �દશ�ન માટે ભાગ લીધો હતો. તેઓના િવના મહો�સવ શ�ય

નથી. બધા �દશ�ન બહુ સરસ હતા અને જોવાનો આનંદ મા�યો હતો. તેથી

આગામી મોહ�સવ માટે તમારા કુટુંબના સ�યોને ભાગ લેવા �ો�સાિહત કરો

કારણ કે તે �યિ�તગત િવકાસ માટે જ�રી છે!

અને �વયંસેવકોનો આભાર, જેમણે મહો�સવ પહેલા, દરિમયાન અને પછી

િનઃ�વાથ� રીતે મદદ કરી હતી,.

ચાટના ના�તો રાખવામાં આ�યો હતો.

અમે સર�વતી કલા �ુપ, મસાલા કેટરસ� અને દરેકને જેણે સેટઅપમાં મદદ કરી

છે, તેમનો આભાર માનીએ છીએ.

thOur annual Diwali Party was held on Friday 9 November at our usual venue Kadwa Patidar Centre, Kenmore Ave, Harrow HA3 8LU. The party started at 7pm, nearly 650 people attended this ever popular annual gathering, dressed in their finest to celebrate Diwali and Indian New Year. Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian starters and buffet dinner was served.

This year along with the regular Alcohol Bar there was a Cocktail Bar. As always people were able to purchase Cocktail, Mocktail and other Alcoholic drinks.

We would like to thank Mr Naresh Ishvarlal Khatri for a generous cash Donation of £500.00 towards the food in memory of his parents Late Mr Ishvarlal Ambaram Khatri and Mrs Lalita Ishvarlal Khatri.
