In July 2014, the Radio Policy Vision Council organized by Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications(MIC) showed the road map of 5G mobile under “Mid-term arrangement”

mobile, and expanding activity results of 5GMF
Liaison and cooperation with corresponding organizations, and coordination with other committees of 5GMF
Activities Established "5G promotion WG" in order to perform a specific common issues in 5GMF.
Planning of entire 5GMF’s foreign action and making a medium and long term outlook.
Consideration of framework and chapter configuration of 5GMF white paper.

Activity of Technical Committee
Research activity of technical committee is initially focused on the following 4 areas. The results will be presented in White paper.
1. Develop “Vision”, which is the basic concept defining the radio technology evolution scenario. (1H of 2015).
2. Contribute to development of specifications of ”IMT-2020” by ITU-R, particularly in the Requirement and Evaluation area. High level studies are to be completed by the end of 2015.
3. Collect and analyze information on potential frequency bands for future 5G use. (1H of 2015).
4. Elaborate relevant radio technology road map.

Working Groups in Technical Committee
5G System Requirement Working Group Identify requirements and required capabilities of individual use case in
the 5G era.
Explore possible approaches to realize the required capabilities, such as 5G heterogeneous network.
Spectrum Working Group Collect and analyze information on potential frequency bands for future 5G
use. The information will include current usage, technical information including radio propagation characteristics etc.
Frequency bands for initial study may include 8.4G/14G/28G/40G/48G/70G /80GHz addressed in the final report of Radio Policy Vision Council, MIC in December 2014.

Activity of Network Architecture Committee
5GMF Network Architecture Committee has been studying overall network architecture for 5G mobile
Challenges, requirements and technologies for network infrastructure has been discussed to create the Network Technology Roadmap
The first milestone for the network architecture and the network technology roadmap by end of June, 2015.
Outcome of the committee will be included in 5GMF white paper, which will be released in Autumn, 2015.
