We are so excited to be teaching 5th grade together again. We bring almost 30 years of combined teaching experience to our classrooms. Ms. Jensen has the mindset of lifelong learning as she currently works on her doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction. Ms. Martin is a UVA graduate who brings enthusiasm, creative energy to the team. Ms. Thomas a California native, with a love of traveling and a passion for art, science, music, and math. Ms. Weber is a Jersey girl with a global perspective and brings lots of wisdom to the team.

Attendance Matters!In Virginia, students enrolled in public schools are required to attend school regularly, regardless of the type of instruction offered. Our students need to be present, engaged, and supported as they return for the 2021-22 school year.Attendance Reinders:★ FCPS must record student attendance every school day.★ Parents should report their student’s absences to school any day
students are unable to participate in learning. They may report the absences by calling the school attendance line or emailing the school-designated attendance address.
★ When parents do not report their students’ absences, school personnel will call to identify the student’s absence reasons. ○ An eNotify (electronic) message will reach parents about the
student absence.○ Parents then can reach the school and provide information
about the student absences.

In the Art RoomStudents will use a variety of mediums (painting, yarn, clay, collage, drawing) and tools to develop skills in art making techniques, craftsmanship, and the ability to respond and connect to artwork throughout history.
