Business Letters
• Business letters are a fundamental form of communication.
• They are used for formal business correspondence to communicate– offers of employment
– price quotations
– information to customers
• There is a variety of delivery methods:– hand
– mail or courier
– fax
– attached to an e-mail or pasted into an electronic format

• Full-block–All parts are aligned at the left-hand side of the
page.
• Block–All parts are aligned at the left-hand side of the
page with the exception of• return address, date line• complimentary closing, signature, writer’s
identification
• Semi-block–Same as block but first line of paragraphs are
also indented.
