1. EligibilityforAdmission

The total seats available as per the approved intake are grouped into two categories viz.categoryAandCategoryBwitharatioof70:30asperthestategovernmentguidelinesvideG.ONo.52

a. TheadmissionsforcategoryAandBseatsshallbeaspertheguidelinesofAndhraPradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) in consonance withgovernmentreservationpolicy

b. Admissioneligibility-UnderLateralEntryScheme

Studentswithdiplomaqualificationhaveanoptionofdirectadmissioninto2ndyearB.Tech.(Lateralentryscheme).Underthisscheme10%seatsofsanctionedintakewill be available in each course as supernumerary seats.Admissions to this threeyearBTechlaterentryProgrammewillbethroughECET.ThemaximumperiodtocompleteB.Tech.underlateralentryschemeissixconsecutiveacademicyearsfromthedateofjoining

2. DurationoftheProgramme

The course duration for the award of the Degree in Bachelor of Technology will be fouracademicyears,withtwosemesters ineachyear.However, ifastudent isunabletocompletethecoursewithin4years,he/shecandosobygivingmoreattemptsbutwithin8consecutiveacademicyearsfromthedateofadmission.

AcademicCalendar

Foralltheeightsemestersacommonacademiccalendarshallbefollowedineachsemesterbyhavingsixteenweeksofinstruction,oneweekfortheconductofpracticalexamsandwiththreeweeks for theory examinations and evaluation. Dates for registration, sessional and endsemester examinations shall be notified in the academic calendar of every semester. Theschedulefortheconductofallthecurricularandco-curricularactivitiesshallbenotifiedintheplanner.

TheOutcomeBasedCurriculumStructureconsistsofcoursesofstudypertainingtoHumanitiesandScience,BasicScience,ProfessionalCore(TheoryandLaboratory),ProfessionalElectives,OpenElectives,SkillBasedCoursesintheformofIntegratedCourses,EmployabilitySkills(SoftSkills, Aptitute and Domain Specific Knowledge), Industry Track Career Path, MOOCs in theformofSelfStudyCourses,AuditCourses,Miniproject,Termpaper,Project,SummerandFullSemester Internship, Industry driven elective and one credit courses, Semester AwayProgrammeandsyllabiasprescribedbytherespectiveBoardsofStudiesfromtimetotime.

Everystudentwillberequiredtooptfornineelectivecourses(basedontheirinterest)spannedacross5thto8thsemestersfromthelistofelectivesprescribedinthecurriculum.UnderChoiceBasedCreditSystem(CBCS), thestudentsalsohavetheflexibilitytochooseoneelectivefromthe listofopenelectivesofferedbyotherbranchesofengineering technology inconsultationwiththeirrespectivedepartment.

a. Skill Oriented Courses: Skill Oriented Courses are offered in the form ofIntegrated courses that are exclusively designed to provide a unique learningexperienceoflayeredlearningwhereinthestudentshavethechancestopracticewhilelearning.Thesecoursesaredesignedbyblendingboththeoryandlaboratorycomponentsoneovertheother

b. Mini project: The curriculum offers Mini Projects for the students during 6thsemester.Theywill bedivided intobatches and the reportwill be evaluatedbyacommitteeasnominatedbyCoEconstitutedwithinternalandexternalmembers

c. Termpaper:Thetermpaperisaself-studyreportwithanobjectiveenhancingthestudents’writtentechnical-communicationandshallbecarriedoutin5thsemester.Every studentwill takeup this either individuallyor as abatchofmaximum fourmembersandsubmitareport.Thescopeofthetermpapercouldbeanexhaustiveliterature review choosing any engineering concept with reference to standardresearch papers or an extension of the concept of earlier course work inconsultation with the term paper supervisor. The report will be evaluated by acommitteenominatedbyHoDwiththeapprovaloftheControllerofExaminations(CoE)

d. Projectwork:Thefinalyearprojectworkshallbecarriedoutduringthe7thor8thsemesterbasedontheinterestofthestudents.Studentsshalltakeupthecapstoneproject at the industriesalongwith the full semester internship (FSI) in the sameindustry.However,studentsshouldtakepriorpermissionifhe/sheisinterestedtotakeupboththeabovesaidcoursesandshallsubmitsepratereport.Projectsshallbetakenupeitherasateamorasanindividual.InternalevaluationwillbedonebytheProjectReviewCommittee(PRC),comprisingofHODandtwoseniormembersoffacultyalongwiththeprojectsupervisor.SemesterendevaluationwillbedonebyProjectEvaluationCommittee (PEC) comprisingof threemembers includingHOD,projectguideandanexternalexaminernominatedbytheofficeoftheCoE

e. Auditcourses:AuditcoursesarethosecourseswhichdonotcarryanycreditsandarenotaccountedforthecalculationofCGPAandthestudentsshallregisterforone

Auditcoursesinthebeginningof3rdsemester.Thelistofthecourseswillbenotifiedatthebeginningofthethirdsemesterforallstudentsandthestudenthastochooseoneauditcourseunderself-studymode.Allthestudents(regularandlateralentrystudents)shall complete theauditcoursesimilar tootherregularcoursesand theresults will be indicated with “Satisfactory” (40% of the total marks) or “NotSatisfactory”performance

f. MOOCsandSelf-StudyCourses:TheCurriculumprovidesadequate flexibility forthestudentstotakeupMOOCsthroughself-studymodeenablingthemtolearnthecourses on independent mode with minimal guidance of faculty mentor to earncreditsfortheawardofthedegreeB.Tech.(Regular)andB.Tech.(Honors&Minor)and the attendance is not mandatory. The courses shall be opted from MOOCsplatformviz.NPTEL,SWAYAMoranyotherplatformsasapprovedbytherespectiveBoard of Studies (BoS). The evaluation and assessment pattern for such courseswhicharepartofthecurriculumfortheB.Tech.(Regular)Degreeshallbecarriedout as similar to other regular theory courses. However, the evaluation andassessmentofMOOCsforB.Tech.(Honors)andB.Tech.(Minor)shallbeinlinewiththe agencies or the platforms offering these courses. Further, if the grade is notspecified by the particular agency or platform, the office of CoE shall follow theinstitutionalSOPfortheawardofthegradeandtakenecessaryapproval fromtheAcademicCouncilthroughcirculation.Futher,incase,ifthestudentispreferredtoundergo Semester Away Programme during 7th semester, the credits shall becompensated and, in such cases the equivalent credits will be accounted for thecalculationofCGPA.MOOCsshallbeidentifiedbytherespectivedepartmenttakingnecessary approval from the BoS and shall be intimated well in advance to thestudents

g. SummerInternships(IandII)SummerInternship#I:Asapartofcurriculuminallbranchesofengineering,itismandatoryforallstudentstoundergosummerinternship#Iatindustries(coreorallied) / R & D organization to get practical insight of their subject domain orcommunityengagementduringsummerbreakafterthe4thsemester.Thissummerinternshipprogrammeshallbeavailedtoamaximumdurationof6weeksandtheassessmentshallbecarriedoutintheverybeginningmonthofthe5thsemesterwithbothinternalandexternalexpertsandwillbeaccountedforthecalculationofCGPA.StudentscanalsochooseCommunityEngagementtotakefieldrelatedprojects.Summer Internship #II: Summer Internship #IIwill be deployed in the form ofskillbridge Internship with a duration of 6 weeks wherein the students will betrained on Problem Solving and Computer Coding Skills which are very muchneededforskillupgradation

h. Employability Skills: It is mandatory for all students to take a course onEmployabilitySkillsfrom3rdSemesterto6thSemester.TheEmployabilitySkillsarecovered under three broad streams viz. Aptitude Skills, Soft Skills and Domain

SpecificKnowledge.Thecreditsearned through thesecourseswillbe indicated inthegradememoandwillbetakenintoaccountforCGPAcalculation

i. Industry Driven One Credit Courses (IDC): Meeting with the industryrequirements/research organizations as well as to reduce the gap betweenindustry-academia-research organizations, the one credit (15 hours.) course hasbeenintroduced.ThecreditsearnedthroughthesecourseswillbeindicatedinthegradememoandwillnotbetakenintoaccountforCGPAcalculation.However,thestudentcancompensatefour1-creditcoursetoa4-creditcoursewhichisoverandabove for those students who have registred for B. Tech. (Honors) and B. Tech.(Minor).Ifastudentdoesnotsuccessfullycompletetheregisteredcourseunderthiscategory in a semester at its first attempt, the registration of the course will becancelled automatically. Further it will not be treated as an arrear and nosupplementary examination will be conducted for the course. Alternatively, ifhe/shewishes,he/she can register for the samecourse/someother course in thesubsequent semesters and successfully complete it as and when offered by theprogramme

j. FullSemesterInternship(FSI):StudentsshallundergomandatoryFSIprogrammeatindustriesduring7thor8thsemestertogetpracticalinsightrelevanttotheircorebranchofengineeringorinalliedbranchofstudyundertheguidanceofinternalandexternalexpertmembersintheinstituteandatindustriesrespectively.TheInstituteshallextendtheFSItoapproximately50%fortheinternsduringthe7thsemesterandtherestduring8thsemester.Thestudentshallregistertheirchoiceofinteresteitherin7thor8thsemesterforFSI inthebeginningof5thsemestertotheInternshipCell.ThestudentsoptingforFSIin7thsemestershouldtakeupthecoursesofferedin8thsemesteronself-studymodeduringthe internshipperiod(7th semester)andthosewhoundergoFSI in8th semester should take the coursesoffered in thatparticularsemester on self study mode during the internship period (8th semester). Thecurriculum also provides the flexibility to enable the students to do the capstoneproject at the same industry and the studenthas to submitboth the reports alongwithcertificationattheendoftheInternshipperiod.ProjectWorkalongwithFSI:The studentswho arewilling to take up capstone projectwork shallmaintain 7.5CGPAtill6thsemesterwithoutanyhistoryofarrears. Incase, ifthestudentfailstomaintain the CGPA, the registration for pursuing projects at the Industry standscancelled automatically without any notification from the Institute and he has tocontinue the project only at the Institute under a internal faculty supervisor. ThefinalevaluationofFSIwillbedonebytheFSIReviewCommittee(FSIRC),comprisingofHoD,IntenalMentorandExternalExpertatIndustry.ThepanelofexternalexpertsshallbenominatedbytheHeadoftheDepartmentandamongwhichtheofficeoftheCoEshallselectoneforthepanelofevaluation

k. SemesterAwayProgramme(SAP):Theinterestedstudentscanhavetheoptionofundergoing SemesterAwayProgrammeduring7th semesterwithHigher LearningInstitutions at Foreign Countries or Institutions of National Repute or Research

Organizations in India,byearningnecessaryequivalentcredits in the7th semesterthroughcoursestudy,projectsorwhatever termsandconditionsasprescribedbythe respective organization. In addition to the above, the students can opt acombinationof1-,2-,3-,4-creditcoursestocompensatethecreditsrequiredfor7thsemester on self studymode in case of shortage of credits. The studentswho areinterestedtooptforSAPshallregistertotheofficeofCoEduringthebeginningof3rdsemesterandinitiateself-studymodeforfuturisticcompensationofcredits.Incase,ifthestudentfailstoregisterduringtheabovesaidperiod,he/shemayregisterforthesamebytakingpriorpermissionfromtherespectiveHeadoftheDepartment

l. IndustryTrackCareerPath(ITCP):Thecurriculumprovidesoppurtunitestothestudents to gain expertise in any of the emerging technologies in the form ofindustrytrackcareerpathofferedbyvariousdepartments.ThestudentscanchoseanyoneofthesecareerpathsduringtheVsemesterandcontinueinthesamecareerpathbyselectingonerelevantelectiveintheVIandVIIsemestersleadingtoamajorprojectaligninghis/hercareerpath in theVIII semester.Thestudentcannothavetheflexibilitytochangehis/hercareerpathatanypointoftimeafter5thsemester.ThestudentwhoisgoingforFSIhastoundergoCPX.3onself-studymodeaspertheautonomous.Incase,ifthestudenthastheopportunitytogetpreplacementofferasapartofFSIinthe8thsemester,he/shemaydiscontinuethecareerpathandcomplyto clause 4 (l). Further, if any student has opted for semester away programme,he/shecanalignhis/herSAPwithcareerpathandstudythecourseCPX.3onself-studymode.Theassessmentpatternpertainingtothecareerpathwillbesimilartothose of other descriptive and integrated courses. The students who are notinterestedinanyofthesecareerpathscanchooseanyoftheothercoreelectivesasfurnishedintherespectivelistoftheelectivesinthecurriculum

m. ComprehensiveQuiz:Thestudentsshallundergotheassessmentprocedureattheendof4thand6thsemesters.Thecomprehensivequizwillbeassessedfor4-creditsandwillbeaccountedforthecalculationofCGPA

5.2PerformanceAssessmentCommittee

ThePerformanceAssessmentCommitteecomprisesofthecoursecoordinators/coursefacultymembersandprogrammecoordinator,nominatedbytheHeadofdepartment.ThiscommitteeshallmeettoassesstheattainmentofCourseOutcomesandProgramOutcomes, progress and status of the students of the semester concerned at thebeginning and end of the semesters. The committee can invite faculty mentors andstudents as invitees and suggest appropriate solutions to ensure continuousimprovementintheleaningoutcomesacrossallsemesters.

6.AttendanceRequirements

a) It is desirable for a candidate to put on 100% attendance in all the subjects.However, a candidate shall be permitted to appear for the semester endexamination by maintaining at least 75% of attendance on an average in all thecoursesinthatsemesterputtogether

b) The shortage of attendance onmedical grounds can be condoned to an extent of10% provided a medical certificate is submitted to the Head of the Departmentwhen the candidate reports back to the classes immediately after the leave.Certificatessubmittedafterwardsshallnotbeentertained.Condonationfeeasfixedbythecollegeforthosewhoputonattendancebetween≥65%and<75%shallbechargedbeforetheendexaminations.AttendancemayalsobecondonedaspertheStateGovernmentrulesforthosewhoparticipateinsports,co-curricularandextra-curricularactivitiesprovidedtheirattendanceisintheminimumprescribedlimitsforthepurposeandrecommendedbytheconcernedauthority

10.WithdrawalfromtheExamination

a. Acandidatemay,forvalidreasons,begrantedpermissionbythePrincipaltowithdrawfrom appearing for the examination in any course or courses of only one semesterexamination during the entire duration of the Degree Programme. Also, only ONEapplication for withdrawal is permitted for that semester examination in whichwithdrawalissought
