1 Drive System

1.1 FRONT PTOModern tractor application requires more and morefront driven implements. To satisfy these demandsJohn Deere provides front PTOs for 6020 Seriestractors for field installation. By following the modularconcept, these field kits furnish John Deere tractorsperfectly for front driven applications like mowing,snow blowing or shredding. The housing designmatches exactly to the front support and enables acomfortable field installation. When not in use, thedriveline can be mechanically disconnected by aseparate lever to save fuel and prevent power loss. Theaccustomed John Deere standards in terms of quality,reliability and service are provided by followingcharacteristics:

• A more horizontal shaft alignment optimizes thepower train from engine to PTO.

• The heavy duty transmission is able to transmit100% of the engine power.

• Oil cooled multi disc clutch provides a smoothengagement.

• A separate oil cooler provides a reliableapplication under all climatic conditions.

• Independent hydraulic system for lubrication andclutch engagement contributes to a high reliability.

The rated PTO speed of 1000 rpm will be achieved at95 % of rated engine speed. Thus, a synchronizedoperation with rear PTO driven implements is possible.

2 HYDRAULICS

2.1 MECHANICALLY-ACTUATED SELECTIVE CONTROL VALVES -

M-SCV

The M-SCVs provide a full range of features whichgives the flexibility to operate all hydraulic equipmenton the farm. The M-SCVs are located at the rear of thetractor, at either side of the hitch valve. ISO scs aremounted to each M-SCV.Three different M-SCV versions are available: 100 resp. 101 Series, 200 resp. 201 Series or 300 resp.301 Series.100, 200 and 300 Series M-SCVs can only be usedwith PFC hydraulic system with axial piston pump.101, 201 and 301 Series M-SCVs can only be usedwith PC or HydraVantage hydraulic systems withgear pump.

300 and 301 Series M-SCVs can basically be used inall positions, but if possible they should be installed onthe left hand side (M-SCV at pos. 1 or 2). Wheninstalling them on the right hand side (M-SCV at pos.3 or 4), an additional parts kit is necessary.M-SCV Identification

• 100 or 101 Series (Standard): mechanicallyactuated, with fixed cap

• 200 or 201 Series (DeLuxe): mechanicallyactuated, with three operating positions

This valve features: • A 4 position lever control that is detented as

standard• Flow of up to 60 l/min is available through the

valve• Removable detent collar• 4-way operation• Automatic detent release (if detent is fitted) when

the engine is switched off.


The M-SCV field kit contains as well thecorresponding quick couplers and dust protection. Thebelow listed control and mounting parts have to beordered separately according to the mounting positionof the M-SCV.

300 Series M-SCV

In addition to all the features of 200 Series M-SCVs,300 Series M-SCVs incorporate a temperaturecompensated adjustable flow restrictor whichcontinuously regulates the flow of oil between zeroand maximum in both directions regardless of oiltemperature. This will give day-long constant speed operation ofhydraulic motors and rams without the need foradjustment. Selectable detents allow the operator to choose thesame modes as the 200 Series M-SCVs, and inaddition a hydraulic detent, where the M-SCV leverwill remain selected until a pre-set pressure is reached.It will then ’kickout’ of the detent to the neutralposition automatically. This mode is particularly usefulwhen repeat M-SCV operations are performed, such asturning a plough or drill marker cycling.The M-SCV field kit contains as well thecorresponding quick couplers and dust protection. Thebelow listed control and mounting parts have to beordered separately according to the mounting positionof the M-SCV.

2.2 M-ICV AND E-ICV

Mechanical Independent Control Valve(M-ICV) - 2 sectionThe M-ICV (mechanical independent control valve) isa separate control valve block unite mounted below theright hand side of the cab. It is fitted below the cab andsupplied with hydraulic power through the PowerBeyond valve or ICV-Cover.It is ideal for single lever control of front loader orfront hitch work.The valve features functions similar to that of twoSCVs.

• 1st function features: extend neutral retract and adetented float position

• 2nd function: extend neutral retract• The M-ICV is not detented for hydraulic motors • Both functions feature a flow capacity of 96 l/min.

at stand-by pressure and proportional flow • When a 96 l/min pump is fitted, maximum flow

capacity can be achieved with reduced engine rpmfor more comfortable operation

• More than one function may be operatedsimultaneously to speed up operations and savetime

• Proportional valves give fine adjustment forinching and operation acceleration/decelerationduring long travel movements

• A balance valve between the two functions ensuresthat both may be operated at once, ensuringprofessional operation capability, for exampleraise boom and roll back bucket

Electrical Independent Control Valve(E-ICV) - 2 or 3 sections

The E-ICV is a separate control valve unit mountedbelow the right-hand side of the cab with the functionsof two or optionally three* SCVs.

Spool movement is no longer achieved mechanically,but electrically through stepper motors (similar to theprecise, reliable and proven stepper motor rear hitchcontrol).Valve Functions All 3 valves feature proportional flow and a flowcapacity of 96 l/min. at stand-by pressure. Lever movements are transformed into electricimpulses inducing - if required - minute movementsfor precise stacking or loading operations

• This unique fine adjustment allows inchingoperation or acceleration/ deceleration duringlonger piston travel movements

• Up to three functions may be operatedsimultaneously to speed up manoeuvres whileensuring professional, parallel operation capability

• The selectable shake-out position permitsoptimum bucket cleaning through automaticvibration mode when overriding the position formax. dump speed

• Allows pre-compaction during back blading infloat position

2.3 ELECTRICALLY-ACTUATED SELECTIVE CONTROL VALVE -

E-SCVThe electrically-actuated SCVs with adjustable flowrates and timed detents are exclusively available forthe 6020 Series John Deere Premium Plus cab models .A programmable electronic controller controls SCVfunctions via a solenoid in each valve. The valve hasno direct control linkage. Out of this result thefollowing advantages:

• Eases operator effort, reducing shift forces andfatigue in repetitive operations.

• Reduced wear of parts and lower maintenancecosts.

SCV controls are located in the Command ArmTm foreasier operation. Valve can easily be re-programmedfrom the operator’s seat for different implements orvariable conditions. Information on valve status isdisplayed on the LCD display, located on the centerdashboard unit.

E-SCVs

The E-SCV field installation kit contains in addition tothe E-SCV parts as well the needed actuatingcomponents for installation in the operator’s station.

Fuel pre filtersProvide higher water and dirt protection to the fuelsystem of your tractor. Bad fuel quality requires bestfiltration. For this purpose pre filters can provide extrafiltration. Therefore, John Deere offers several prefilter kits which provide:

SeatingSeats are ergonomically designed and covered instylish, easy to clean cloth upholstery.

Active Carbon Layer An active carbon layer is used in the seat, to allow it tobreathe. This results in less sweating and furtherincreases the comfort of the operator.

Low Frequency SuspensionThe low frequency suspension technology nowabsorbs shocks as low as 1.2 Hz and offers superiorback protection and driving comfort. In the past the driver had to select a hard suspension toavoid bottoming of the seat when it reaches the lowerlimit. With the low frequency seat a soft setting of thesuspension is possible without the risk of hitting theupper or lower limit.This is achieved with an increased air volume and lowfriction bearings.No additional shock absorber is required.The system is designed according to suit the hydrauliccab suspension frequency of 1.0 Hz and the TLS II.The result is a floating but firm and sure feeling for thedriver for relaxed driving and better health.

Passenger seat

The comfortable, soft-moulded passenger seat,complete with backrest, is located to the left of theoperator. Due to the overall roominess of the cab, the passengerseat has excellent access with plenty of head andshoulder clearance along with large leg-room area. The shape and size of the Single Lever Controlcorresponds to the anatomy of the operator's hand. Itfeatures two push buttons and one proportional controltoggle switch integrated in the grip to control up to 5functions.An integrated safety guard prevents unintentionalimplement operation. Lever functions are onlytransmitted, if the guard is tilted away by the grippinghand. A toggle switch at the base of the lever allowsfunction to be disengaged when not in use, e.g. fieldwork, transport etc.For optimum forearm ergonomics, lever position canbe adjusted through movement of its base in thehorizontal plane. Pneumatic trailer brake

The pneumatic trailer brake system consists basicallyof a two line system. This is the same as used today oncommercial vehicles.Pre-braking function:

• short brake pedal travel allows braking of thetrailer without braking the tractor. This feature isrequired to control the trailer and prevent jackknifing.

• A quick release valve opens the trailer brakeimmediately after release of the brake pedal forbetter acceleration.

Single line systems for pneumatic trailer brakes areavailable as well. These kits are supplementary to thedual-line systems, they can not be used stand alone.The dual-line system has to be installed first before thesingle line system should be ordered.The field kits below permit the tractor to be retro-fittedwith a pneumatic trailer brake system.

5.6 STORAGE Tool box

An external detachable and lockable tool box withconvenient carrying handle is located in front of thecab. It has the capacity to hold tools and a selection oflinkage balls, hitch pins and linchpins for implementattachment.


Additional storage container - 45l

With a capacity of 45 l and a 45 kg maximum payload thisnew sheet metal storage container offers additional space,e.g. for rubber boots, oil cans, bulky tools, grease guns etc.Equipped with 2 handles at the side it can easily be carried.With the help of the included quick lock pin the containercan be closed rapidly.

The fastening on the back allows a quick installation to allexisting front weights: base weights, front weights and the900 kg pick up weight.

Security door lock kitLocking the cab with an individual key, different fromthe standard ignition key, is helpful for many differentapplications of the tractor.
