This course has been developed to review and enrich math concepts for kindergarteners and first graders. Minnesota State Standards Math Frameworks MCA strands and current Minnesota Benchmarks are the foundational basis for this curriculum. 16A Mixed-Up Fairy TaleDirected by Dayna Railton, The Play’s the Thing ProductionsAges 6-14

An excellent show for the beginner actor, 39 parts available. The entire world of fairy tales gets utterly mixed up! The Grimm brothers are writing their stories late into the night when suddenly a terrible gust of wind flings open the door and blows the pages everywhere! Later that night, the stories begin to intermingle in Wilhelm’s dreams. Cinderella’s desperately trying to get to the royal ball, but somehow she’s ends up at Rapunzel’s tower. As her Fairy Godmother mistakenly sends her on to the Seven Dwarfs’ cottage and Snow White’s castle, Cinderella meets loads of new friends — dwarfs, bears, pigs, and witches! — all of whom are just as lost and out of place as she is! When they all finally make their way to the ball, Cinderella finally meets her prince, and they all share a giant fairy tale party “happily” thereafter! All who audition are in the cast and have lines! The first day is auditions and read thru of the script.

Learn to Swim with Community EducationFarmington Community Education Aquatics Programs provide parents and children with important and useful information about strokes, skills, and water safety. We teach people to swim; to be safer in, on and around water; and what to do in the event of an emergency. Please read the course descriptions carefully. A grid indicating the dates and times that courses are offered may be found on page 30.

Adaptive Swim LessonsThis program provides a safe learning environment for students with mild disabilities. While students follow the outlines from one of our swimming levels, modifications are made to strokes and skills as necessary. A specially designed hydraulic lift allows us to accommodate participants who have difficulty entering the pool on their own. Please contact the Aquatics Coordinator to discuss any special needs. This helps us prepare to teach the safest and most appropriate lessons possible.

Aqua Kids (Parent & Child)Aqua Kids is for young children new to swim lessons. Skills range from water adjustment, to movement in the water with flotation, to some independent swimming. Guided sessions help students learn elementary skills including: water entry and exit; bubble blowing; front and back floats; kicking; rolling over with assistance; life jackets; and more. An adult must be in the water with each student.
