8 digital inputs and 4 digital outputs are anintegral part of the new Inline bus couplerfor PROFINET. The narrow shape of only80 mm gives you space on the top hat rail,which can then can be filled by otherfunctions from the Inline automationmodular system.

The PROFINET bus coupler forms thecentral link between an I/O station and theEthernet.

For this bus coupler, the integratedautomatic 500 kBd or 2 MBd detectionenables an alignment of the entire Inlineportfolio, including the integration of up to

16 PCP devices.Quick start up and easy maintenance are

guaranteed through clearly arrangeddiagnosis LEDs.

The different color-coded jumperinglevels on the module allow sensors andactuators to be connected using the multi-conductor system.

The Mechatrolink bus coupler (M-Link BK)represents the link between theMechatrolink networks I and II and the wideproduct range of Inline modules.

Mechatrolink is an open field network

optimized for Motion Control. In motionfield networks, the focus is on precise,synchronous controls and fast responsesbetween servos and other devices in thenetwork. Mechatrolink and Sercos aretypical examples for motion field networks.In the case of I/O field networks, the focusis more on the connection of various I/Odevices than on synchronization.DeviceNetTM, PROFIBUS-DP andINTERBUS are typical examples for I/O fieldnetworks.

Together, the Inline system and the M-Link BK provide solutions for the following

Motion Control network requirements: – Turn-key solution for simpler installation,

flexible system configuration and simpleI/O mapping

– Overall cost reduction with clear savingsper node, low installation and startupcosts

– High-speed, high-performance control – Precise, synchronous DIP switches on the

M-Link BK allow the slave addresses, baudrate and the Mechatrolink data width tobe easily set.

The Mechatrolink bus coupler with eightintegrated digital inputs and four outputssave space as well as costs. This way, notonly is fieldbus communication guaranteed,but some automation tasks are also takencare of at the same time.

A width of only 80 mm saves a lot of spaceon the DIN rail which can be used for otherInline system functions. In addition, the buscoupler can be operated without additionalterminals for simpler applications in "standalone" mode.

Quick start up and easy maintenance areguaranteed through clearly arranged

diagnosis LEDs.The different color-coded jumpering

levels on the module allow sensors andactuators to be connected using the multi-conductor system.

Range of applicationsThe areas of application for the field

multiplexer are numerous. Wherevergreater distances have to be bridged, thefield multiplexer comes into use.

Whether in purification plants, formineral springs, in other areas of watermanagement, in tunnel construction oropencast mining, integration it into existingtelecontrol, or simply for use on expansivecompany premises – the field multiplexer isthe solution.

Fast planningIn addition to the aforementioned

complementary arrangement of I/Oterminal blocks, it is necessary to ascertainthe total max. current consumption of allI/O terminal blocks of a station. This is

achieved by simply adding together thecurrent consumption of the individual I/Oterminal blocks. The data required for thiscalculation can be found in the technicaldata of the field multiplexer and theselected I/O terminal blocks.

The data transmission time for copper-based and optical fiber transmission can beascertained as follows in advance:
