Dialysis removes nitrogenous(and other)
waste products, and corrects the electrolyte,
water, and acid baseabnormalities associatedwith renal failure.
It requires the use of semi-permeable
membrane which allow the passage ofwaterand small molecularweight solutes, but not
large molecules.
