6th Grade Remote Learning Parent Update Week of: May 26, 2020
Hi ARMS Families,
This weekly document is created to help you monitor and support your child(ren) at home with their remote learning. Each week you will receive an update by subject area of the learning that your child will be participating in and the assignments that they will be working on and need to submit by 11:59 PM each Sunday. Please reach out to your child’s subject area teachers, grade level administrator or counselor if you have any questions or concerns.

Language and Literature
I can compare and contrast information from the novel Hidden Figures to another informational text. I can identify and analyze the author’s methods, use of details and the author’s point of view in two different texts.
This week students will finish reading the novel, Hidden Figures and complete an end of unit compare and contrast activity.
1. Compare and Contrast Activity (novel to text excerpt “July 20, 1969: One Giant Leap for Mankind”
2. 1 ACHIEVE3000 article NOTE: Students who took home their copy of the novel Two Roads will need to make
arrangements to drop off that novel at ARMS June 1-5. Drop off times are: M, W, F 8:00 AM-10:00 AM T, TH 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM
